We are just waiting on one passport. janet and I got ours two years ago and Debbie and the twins last year but Sara only applied last month and it hasn;t come it yet. we will be ready to go once it comes in. Could be any day now.

Kimberly: :lmao: Told you! I'll be buying more bird food today to increase my energy and shrink my waist by the time I see you guys. I'm down about 7 pounds this morning, just from the torture at the gym and saying no thanks to the sweets. I actually pulled up the Macaroni Grill nutritional info before our family date night last night, and I can tell you the "Skinny Chicken" entree actually tasted great! :thumbsup2

Drea: That's great about the crew passing around the items!
If I remember correctly, the passport and the marriage license come back to you in separate packets, in an attempt to make it harder for identity thieves.
Love your ticker, too. My Marine brother has reported to his first duty station in San Diego, so we're checking on him frequently via Yahoo Messenger.

Brandie- Great job on the weightloss! Hmm ill have to check out Mac Grills website. But that will lead me to wanting so much more then skinny slimming portions. Instead Ill want the tiramisu LOL
And good to know about the docs coming seperate. Ill be on the look out for it.

Hadley- Ill let you know how long it takes for the kids passports to get back we were quotes at the post office 4-6weeks so we shall see how close that is.

oh and Brandie what base is your bro stationed at if you dont mind my asking?

Thanks! Only like 20 more pounds to go! ;)

My little brother (who is taller than me) just says, San Diego. Stinker hasn't come across with his actual address yet, despite repeated times poking him about it. He always says, well, he has a cellphone and IM, why do we need his snail mail address?? I know he changed barracks the other day, so maybe that's part of his obstinance.

When Mom and I went out there to watch him graduate from boot camp, I was really taken aback by how much San Diego had changed from my childhood. Yup, I was a little surfer girl (that lived in the nicest Navy housing I have ever seen) in Pacific Beach. Three bedroom, 1.75 bath plot hardwood floor single story homes, about 8 blocks from the beach. They had grass lawns and everything. We went back to the old house and it was all different. Really grown up and congested. Very strange to me. My brother was born in Balboa Park hospital before the military swapped with the city. I saw the MiG's flying over San Diego from a school bus while Top Gun was being filmed--that was eerie! Look up and see Soviet fighter planes over US airspace! Ummmm... those aren't supposed to be here!!!! All of the hills shown during that air fight scene are covered with houses now.

It also seems like the military bases have either closed, swapped hands, or completely changed from 20 years ago. I used to be able to say, oh, 32nd Street = Marines, Miramar = Air Force, etc, and I don't feel comfortable saying that now.

Just kinda wild to have DB back to where he was born. We moved from San Diego when he was still a toddler.

Oh, and Drea, I just want to point out Mom was Navy. My brother chose Marines. You can just imagine how well my Mom took that! :rotfl:

Speaking of dieting, today is self-proclaimed "eat anything" day in the Jacques household. I have had donuts, some of those heart-shaped cinnamon gumdrops, and will be having my soda this evening along with some Jalepeno kettle chips (and a black bean burger).

Tomorrow? Back to rabbit food. But the good thing is, by the time Saturday is over, we have had our fill. :rotfl:

BTW, Starbucks also lists their nutritional information on their website. I wish I had never seen how much fat is in a blueberry scone......

Hadley, the picture you posted of your family wearing the lanyards is great!! Thanks to all of you who are working on them. If you need any help, let me know. On our last cruise, one of our DISgroup ordered lime green bracelets with our cruise information on them. It's one of my favorite souveniers. The lanyard will be too!
Brandie....great job!! Keep up the good work. I am supposed to be dieting now too, but haven't been able to get going. DH and I joined a local gym in November....I have to get back into the routine of going after work again. I sortof slacked off during the holidays.
Drea....glad to hear E arrived safely!!
Everyone seems to be getting their passports quickly now. We had applied for them last year for our August cruise....it took almost 3-4 months to get them back. I was actually starting to worry, but they came about 4 weeks before we cruised. Glad to hear they have speeded up the process.

Thank you to the Lanyard Team....:dance3:

I always found that these were such a great help no only to identify others members...but also a get place to keep you KTW cards in....

If I can help in any way please just ask:worship:

:woohoo: One other note..........

Since Hadley posted a pitcure of her self and family....I think it would be a good idea prior to the cruise to have somewhere we could post photos of each other that way it would be easy to identify at the terminal:flower3:

This is just a idea that has always worked with other meets....

Drea, glad E is safely at his destination - I will be praying for him. Jim was a navy "brat" - he was born at that same hospital - I think he spent most of his young years in San Diego, too. He went in the AF because his Dad told him if he ever wanted to be home with me he should choose AF. :thumbsup2

Thanks, Hadley and Erik for heading up the lanyard team! Love the pic, Hadley - you all looked so ready to cruise!

Diets? We are starting a "Biggest Loser" team in our town, using our natural protien shakes - Jim and I both signed up - I lost a pound, then we went to dinner at the in-laws last night. I'm sure I have to start over. Must get more rabbit food.

We are planning to get our plane tickets in Feb when Jim gets paid for coaching! :yay: I still need to make ressies at Hyatt, too! This last 8 months will go fast!!!   I woke up too early, trying to go back to sleep - somehow getting excited about our cruise isn't helping...

You can include those in your introduction post in the General Forum of DisDoubleDip.com, if you'd like. Throw a picture into photobucket or some photosharing website and include the link in your post.

We've also got avatars on DDD, so you could just upload a picture there, if you'd like.

Good morning everyone! :yay: DH & I are up and getting ready to go to the gym:scared1: I told you I had to start soon...didn't mean this soon, but......

zweihund, did your DH register for an account on the other website?

He did not - I forgot to tell him :rolleyes1 I also have not been since I registered :rolleyes1 I'd say we've been busy, but, here I am posting, so.....:rolleyes1

Hi everyone! Well, we are off the ship and back to reality.

We got off the ship yesterday. We took a car to the airport, flew from Orlando to Atlanta (our home), got off the plane and on another, and flew to Detroit. The girls are scheduled to be training this week at the Detroit Skating Club.

In reality only one will be training on ice this week. The other injured her ankle on the ship on the first full day of the cruise--Sunday. We are fairly sure that she tore a ligament. She then got to be in a wheelchair or on crutches for the remainder of the cruise.

By the way, I can tell you from first hand experience that the medical staff on the Magic are very good. And, we learned that they have an x-ray machine onboard (which makes perfect sense). Everyone was really great about helping Rebekah from the counseler from one of the clubs who happened on to her first to the nurse and Dr. Nick.

Glad you all made it home safely (and then some), Lionel! Thanks for stopping by to say hello while you were on the cruise! I always enjoy hearing a a live update!!

I'm so sorry to hear Rebekah has been in some pain and didn't quite have the mobility she planned to have. I hope she still had a great time! Keep us posted on her healing progress.

Sounds like Raquel will have a sudden dose of reality going back into training this week, but hopefully it won't be too challenging to get out of vacation mode!
