I promise AFTER my December cruise to be more active and involved in the group.. I never knew how hard it was to stay up to date on 2 chatty cruise threads

So for December, DH and I are doing Palo.. ALONE for dinner and a Palo Brunch with 2 other couples.. We've never done Brunch before so I'm a little excited I REALLY wanted to get High Tea but it doesn't look like That will happen.. So maybe in September

OK....Darn You for talking about the Freebie thread! Not the Freaps thread...but the true freebie thread. Never been there before, & now I've spent almost an hour this morning looking at all the free stuff AHHHHH! Where did my morning go?

I guess I'll wear a baseball hat to our playdate today instead of showering & doing my hair.

I tell 'ya, sometimes the internet is a rabbit hole of interesting stuff!

Kimberly, I agree life is too short to argue with strangers about opinions - everyone has one, right? I try to stay away from argumentative threads! I have expressed an unpopular opinion a couple of times on other threads and you should see the claws come out! (Believe me it wasn't even about politically correct ) I usually just don't go back.

Muushka, I'm glad you felt welcome over here. I have a group of control freaks that have become good friends, and I check in on the SSR lovers thread sometimes - although every once in awhile a VWL lover breaks in and give us a hard time! Just kidding!

The only time I went over on the SSR lover's board was to tell them that their resort rocked!
We stayed there last trip and we loved it.

I went on the Freebie thread once. It does take a while to go through all the things listed. My problem was that I didn't find much that I was really interested in. A couple of items that I did like, I had to go through a lot of forms and questionaires in order to get the item. It ended up being more work that it was worth.

Thanks!! Thank you everybody for the welcome too Wow, there are a lot of posts I need to catch up on. Can you fill me in on the fish extender thing? Don't people take them if you leave them out? Do you have to sign up and put items in them for other people?


Oh and just wondering what everybody's occupation is? Have you already asked that? I stay home with my boys, take a couple college classes here and there and I work part time as a merchandiser with American Greetings. My husband is a police officer.

You have a great friend there! I'm glad she recruited ya...kicking and screaming, I'm sure! I'm going to assume that your boys will be 10 and 6 at the time of the cruise. If that's true, your oldest prince will find six other 10 yr old buddies (and one other DKid10 of unknown gender), and your little guy will likely run into nine pals his age (and 3 other DKids of unknown gender)!! There are also 5 families from sunny California (you and Drea are 2 of them). Oh...and you asked about Deck 2. There are at least 10 additional families joining you on Deck 2.

If you haven't already gotten the scoop from Drea, let me suggest that you check out Post 577 (link in my signature) to see if there's anything else listed there that you would like to share about yourselves. There's a website currently under development, and the information you give me will get posted up there!

Post 577 is also a good "go-to" thread to see what kind of activites we've been talking about. If you have other suggestions, please share!!! For some of the activities that may make you say "Hmmm...what is that?!", I tried to add links to other posts that discuss it. Certainly ask if there's anything you want to know more about. This post also has info about locating our cruise logo so you can use it for door magnets, your siggy, or whatever you choose.

Hi gang!!!

Hope all is well on this thread....I lost track of you guys three weeks, and oh about 50 pages agorotfl2: ) when my computer crashed.

I had to take it to Best Buy, who in turn had to send it in to Gateway. I was only a tad bit nervous, because after standing in the service line for literally over an hour...I was the lucky one who got the brand-spanking new person who knew absolutely nothing. Normally I have a lot of patience but I had other things to do (ya know!) and though I had hoped they could fix it right then, when they decided to send it off I got a tad bit nervous, b/c I hadn't backed up my hard drive in a few weeks and all the pictures from my Oct. cruise were on there. But after waiting like an hour and a half at that point I figured heck with it...and let them have it without taking it home to back up the data. She told me they would call me when it was ready a week to 10 days. So a week passes. 10 days. 2 weeks. Finally I go in there to find out what's up and they tell me it was delivered to my house on 11/6. I said oh no it wasn't.... and they said yes it was... and I told her to give me the tracking number and I would deal with UPS. So I go home and look it up and see it was signed for by someone named "Brewer" so I called them up thinking they better figure out which house is the Brewer house so I can break down their door and get my laptop back!!! So on the phone UPS finally gives up the address...and you guessed it- it was the address of Best Buy! So I get on the horn with Best Buy and sure enough it was sitting right there on the shelf. AAAAAUGH! But I wasn't really upset, I was just so thankful it was THERE. Yes, all my pics are still there, thank goodness!

So that's what I've been dealing with the last few weeks...that and some awful morning sickness!

I know what you mean! The internet is a big black whole of LOST time for me! I did the same thing when I started checking it out a few weeks ago.

KImberly--Did you send those bee--yew--ti--full flakes this way??? I think you might've. It is raining now but so cold the rain is freezing in little bitty drips and it is sooooo close to snow. If the temps drop just a smidge I think we'll be there. I have my fingers crossed. DSiL is here from LA and would enjoy the pretty snow as well,.

Did any of you just book your cruise recently? I just booked mine last week and the website says they have onboard credit, but the agent told me with the package I bought they don't have it? Just wondering if anybody else had that problem.

Who are you booking with? I booked with Sam's and we were not able to get the $50 OBC for using my Disney Visa. But we did get everything else they promised. Did they give you a break on the price? Could that be it? (I know that was their excuse for not giving the OBC to us).

I didn't argue with DCL either because they took about $150 off of the price of the cruise, so I could not complain about the $50.

So, is this your first DCL cruise?

Maybe someone else who booked with Dreams will chime in.

We booked on DCL's website to get the $25 OBC then transferred it to DU for an additional $50. We booked a cat 8.

Tonya, I've noticed that sometimes the OBC is tiered. For example, Cat 3-6 may get $300 OBC, Cat 7-8 $200, and so on. I would think there's a table displaying their promotion. I had looked at booking a RCL cruise right after this one so I had my own little B2B. They had a one-day special for OBC, however, I learned when I called, that they didn't offer it for the category I was willing to pay for.
