"Double Dip Delight" Alternate Western 09/27/08

In the past couple of days, I've received some potential group activity interests that I think warrant being listed on Post 577. These include bingo [thank you FatCat] (which I've categorized as games as I also had notes of people interested in Pictionary) and pin trading [thank you pfishgirl].

Again, as all other interests, this is not the "big C"! You're not committing to doing these things, it's just indicating you may be interested as well. That will help us identify if we may want to formally make plans with others! So if those of you who have registered with me already have an interest in those too, please PM or Hotmail me, and I'll make note of it on your record!


I've been picking up things here and there for fish extender "gifts". I've been wondering how many I should be getting. How does that work? Will there be a list? Will it have ages and gender for kids? You wouldn't want to give something with small pieces to a small child because of choking hazard. Can those of you that have done this before explain in a little more detail how all that works?

I've been doing the same. I figure in the end, perhaps not everyone will get the same thing. Although I do plan to have one core item that I want everyone to receive.

Asking about a list is a great question. This is a prime example of why it's important for all of you to let me know if you have an interest in participating in the FE fun. You can keep an eye out on Post 577 for updates on the number of cabins interested in FE, although that will need to be broken down further, which I have the ability to do.

If they're provided to me, I have ages of kids and they're identified by gender as a daughter/niece or son/nephew, etc. I have the database setup to rather easily query this info out at many levels....like how many cabins have children under 18, how many childern are in a cabin, yadda. Of course some cabins who want to participate may not have children.

So yes, in the end, I'll be able to provide a list of how many are interested, cabin numbers (if given to me), which cabins have kids and gender/ages of them (again if provided to me).

Please count Joe and I in for the Hyatt we will be arriving sometime Friday don't know what time yet waiting on Airtran to post September flights.

Hi Maureen......we will be staying at the Hyatt as well but will probably be coming in late. We are on the alert for Airtran flights also ! We have been flying them for years now since they have direct flights from PHL to MCO. We look forward to meeting you........where do you fly out of?

Awesome. Another group to get together with before. I will be willing to take the lead and work on planning a place and time for us to try to get together if everyone is OK with that.

What would the rest of this group like to do? One of my ideas is to get together for a bit sometime aound 7 PM if everyone is there. Or how bout an 8 AM breakfast someplace in the Airport? Its like I said I am not sure we have enough time. LOL

We will not be at the Hyatt until late on Friday but breakfast may work!

Hey, I just wanted to second Buckeye Gal on the privacy issue. DH and I both are major privacy advocates (He's a Project Manager and Security Guru at his day job, I do enterprise-wide website software support for a major bank). I noticed he took the DISDoubleDip website down while he's occupied, so even as an admin I'm not able to see email addresses. I have about 4 email addresses myself, so I know how that goes. Mom and DH are the same way. We have family accounts, work accounts, random accounts, spam accounts... :rotfl: Feel free to use a throwaway Gmail account to register for the cruise website.

I think it would be good to have as a stated policy that the email addresses to register for the website are there to handle password administration, not to announce anything. That's what this thread is for.

DH is helping with a server move today. He doomed himself by literally saying, "It shouldn't take too long... I'll be done by noon." It was 3:30 pm when I called to check on him, and he was just then swapping IPs. *eyebrow raise* Yeah, RIGHT, noon. :rotfl:

It is looking like breakfast may be the best for everyone meeting at the Hyatt. So for starter lets plan to find a place to get breakfast. I will see if I can get a list of resturant close to the Hyatt. I know there is a McDonalds but there must be others so let me do some digging and we can look at that later.

Does everyone want to try to make that first bus to the Port? That will make a difference in the time for Breakfast. Let the planning begin!!! Ha Ha Ha. I am so excited I can't stand myself. Still almost one year to go. Hope time flys. Lois

We do want to get there early but not rush ourselves.....I have heard that the first bus leaves around 10:30. Is that correct? Do they have a bus pick us up directly from the hotel or do we go with the people leaving from the airport section? We have never done this before......

I am so excited too and everyone (except my DS2) thinks I am CRAZY but I LOVE IT!

Thanks for letting us know! I had made a note that you had once asked about an interest in people having a DIS Meets at the Radisson....so it's exciting to have one more decision made!

Awesome......we are looking for a Friday night flight since we can't take my daughter out for more than a week from school and my husband might have to work that day. Hopefully they will have one around 6:30 or 7 PM. Maybe we'll all be on the same flight.

Ok computer geeks can anyone help me with this message

I thought I would uninstall shockwave which I did. And went to install it again and keep getting this

This application requires an Xtra (flashmovie...) that either does not exist or failed to intialize properly. Please make sure appropriate Atras are in Xtra Folder(s)

Will not let me install shockwave.

So what gives thank you for your opinions and knowledge.
 
Yes it was the above. But what I ended up doing was re dowloading DivX Converter and this seems to let me install properly. I had deleted as I do not use this. This seems to be the problem. We will see :)
 
Hi gang!

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to ya'll....we're back from the 3 night Wonder.....it was ****AWESOME****:thumbsup2 :banana: :cool1:

The weather was beautiful..the seas were smooth...the drinks were flowing and the Bingo rocked! (YES, I won.....although I had to share my prize) We really had a fantastic time!!!

It was great meeting Tiffany and Doug (HI GUYS!!!! :wave2: ). We didn't find each other until the last day, and thankfully Tiffany recognized me! I guess it's a good thing I post all those pictures after all!:laughing: We all had a great time! It was so nice to have others on the cruise to talk to, I can only imagine what this one will be like, with familiar faces around every corner!!!:thumbsup2

Oh and we did stop by the reservations desk, and were quite disappointed with our options. In fact we left and went back at least 3 different times...checking different categories...and discovered that all that is left in categories 10, 8, and 6 is "guarantee" category, meaning no specific room assignments. We ended up taking a GTY 8....as it was many hundreds of dollars cheaper than the GTY 6, and we didn't want to end up below deck 5, (which is why we didn't take the GTY 10). SO...KIMBERLY...(sorry more work for you) go ahead and free up room 7003, as we won't be in it. AND unfortunately I don't know where we actually WILL be.....but we will be there...somewhere.....;)
