Anyone catching the Hannah Montana concert tonight on Disney Channel? We've recorded it & are watching it w/our little 'hannah montana' - at least she thinks she looks like HM w/the blonde wig on! :lmao: She does make a cute little Asian HM - not that I'm biased or anything. We weren't able to get the 3-D glasses so parts look a little funky, but its all good.

Ack! We just got the comment from Emmie that she likes the Jonas Brothers better than HM (they're also part of the concert). When asked why, she replied "because they're sssssooooooo cute!". & she just 'loves' Kevin 'cause he's the cutest. UGH. We are NOT ready for her to start going gaga over the boys yet. NNNNNOOOOOOO!!!!!!! We're not even to Kindergarten yet for goodness sake. :sad2:

MY DD10 was watching it too! She used her 3-d glasses from her spy kit and she said they worked fine.

They grow up too fast these days.

OK the boys were watching tv in the living room (on the nice 56 in) so I got the boot to the den with the 36'er LOL anyhow I was surfing and found this on and was watching it also. When P came in he was wondering why I was watching Hannah Montana alone LMAO Had to tell him the truth.. the remote broke YA thats its :rolleyes1 I didnt have the 3d glasses :3dglasses either, but I know we had some back in the day for the Spy kids movie but who knows where they are now? I had to stop watching it cuz it was giving me a headach without them lol

Aww man already going boy crazy.. sort of. GOOD LUCK!

We just booked the all-inclusive resort package on Cozumel through Island Marketers. It is a day at the Wyndham Resort, just down the beach from Nachi Cocom. Anyone else doing this? I thought I saw a few posts about people going to Nachi Cocom, but not this one.

Hi friends! We're back after a short visit to Grammie's house. It always makes me laugh when we visit, because Reese rules the roost & essentially gets everyone to do whatever he wants (play cars, go for a walk, watch a musical in Grammie's bed while eating cookies & popcorn...anything!). I throw pretty much all rules out the window when we visit Grammies (with the exception of safety & manners!) so Grammie & the Great Grandparents have fun spoiling him in whatever way they wish.

M&Ms with breakfast? So long as he eats his breakfast, OK by me. He knows that only works at Grammies :)

It always seems like it takes a few days to get back into the swing of things once we return home from somewhere!

LOVE the breakdown list of kids' ages. I am beyond excited that there will be so many boys the same age range as Reese!

NEWS ABOUT THE ONBOARD SCAVENGER HUNT: I suppose I spoke too quickly when volunteering to organize this. :headache: I won't be able to coordinate the project, but if there's someone who wishes to take over I will happily share the list of participants I have so far. I feel terrible for backing out, but I know everyone understands about offering to lead something when you later realize you can't do it. So very sorry....

I remember reading it is a good idea to bring $1 bills for tips for room service, bags, etc. How many do you think we should bring?

Crissi

If I remember correctly, we brought $50 in one dollar bills. We still had some left over when we went home, but of course that depends on how many bags you bring, how much room service you order, etc.

We tipped $1 for room service if it was a simple order, $2 if it was a full meal for the three of us. For bags, we tip $1 per bag. Hope that helps figure out how much $$ in $1 bills you might want to bring!

Later we are working on welcome home signs for E  If the Marine Corps keeps there word its actually less time then in my signiture... not much but still LESS! So keep your fingers crossed nothing changes, everything goes well on the convo back to Baghdad, no plane issues, etc. Cuz the last 2 weeks are the hardest :rotfl2:

oh and I just realized my cruise ticker is down to the 1 in front of the month also! woohoo!:woohoo:

Do you know if his plane will come through DFW airport? Every day we have a plane load of soldiers on their way home that come through the airport, & there's a group of cheering people at the terminal. We've taken Reese to do it before, to cheer on the soldiers & welcome them home & say thank you...I would be honored to do it on the day your Hubby is coming home!

Let me know if you think of it :)

I certainly can relate to over committing yourself! I have removed this from Post #1.

Awe!! I was so touched and impressed that you've taken the time to take Reese to welcome the soldiers home. You weren't finished talking yet though! Then you made my body tingle when you offered to welcome E home! You're toooooo sweet, Heather!

Kimberly-- It was amazing to take him! The energy in the terminal is unmatched...there are veteran groups, Boy Scout troops, business groups, Girl Scout Troops...signs, banners, flags everywhere. On the day we went, the plane was over an hour later than expected, but everyone stayed & waited patiently. Including the group of 4 & 5 year olds that we invited to bring their families.

Everyone formed a mass on either side of the roped off pathway coming out of the terminal doors. The soldiers, dressed in full desert fatigues, came out of the doors to loud applause, cheering, flags waving. There was a full school band at the very front of the line playing patriotic music. The next group to greet the soldiers were the Veterans...so many of them...elderly men who had been there before...lining the pathway on both sides welcoming these men & women home. Reese shook hands with the heroes and said thank you. I made eye contact with as many as would look at me & said "Welcome Home! Thank you!". Volunteers passed out bottles of water & snacks. Others outside of the airport doors offered cell phones to use to call loved ones.

It was like nothing I've ever experienced before. And it happens every single day at DFW airport. I feel lucky to live so close so that we can participate in something as important as this...

Okay...now I have tears in my eyes. I don't even personally know anyone over there currently. For a year, my Goddaughters' dad spent some time transporting people from Iraq to Guantanamo Bay and doing duty on the island, but that was quite some time ago. I'm just so touched by what these heroes and heroines along with their families have done and sacrificed for us to live the lives we do here in the USA. :worship:

It's awesome to know that these soldiers are greeted like that when they set foot back on their home land. :lovestruc

CrazyZues1: Wow, I have tears now too, how cool is that? :) What great memories for Reese.

Thank you to all the men and women in the service.

Very nice and thank you from another military family. :thumbsup2

Dh, after a rather long and probably annoying trip, has arrived (via three other countries) in Afghanistan. Still not at his final posting, but he'll be there in a few days, I guess, even though he still doesn't know where it is.

I was thinking of attaching a photo, but he's not an internet-photo kind of guy, and I never know what I'm allowed to post publicly per military regs.

Count down of the 270 days officially starts, and then we figure 2 weeks of travel back (as Drea can well testify- maybe the plane shows up, maybe not. Maybe it works, maybe it doesn't), including debriefing, gear check in, medical, and I'm thinking 284-290 days from today he'll be home. Have to adjust the ticker.

Thanks to all for prayers and pixie dust.

Thank you for your family's service. In this world of pop culture obsession, people like your husband are our real idols & heros.

Thanks Charlie.

Spa related question:

Anyone ever had one of the body wraps? What exactly do they do? Does it involve anything at all massage like? Because I really want to try a wrap, but I also really like massages. I guess I could do both if the little ones like the clubs (and don't get kicked out).Since dh isn't going, we'd only have one spa treatment instead of two on the bill.

Also: RAINFOREST ROOM How late is it open?

Thanks-
Julie

WOW!! Reading your description of this gave me chills & tears. No matter your stance on the current situation, it is so very important we show the soldiers our full support. W/o them & the sacrifices they & their families make every day, we'd be in very sad shape. Its so cool you're supporting the soldiers in such a visible way - & taking Reese w/you! I wish we could do something like that w/Emmie.
