TIffany--do you have Burlington Coat Factory in your area? That is usually where I find decent prices on tux shirts for Rio.

Thank you! We do have one of these. I've tried all the regular Mall stores with no luck. I'll try there next week.

I just had to pop on and say Mama Mia is so much FUN Thanks Erica and Chris for nudging us into going to see it:goodvibes

I'm dying to see this too! But Doug has no interest in seeing it and I don't want to go alone. . . Cindifan, are you interested?

No Cabin Assignment yet. :confused3

I think last time we got ours about 30 days out if I recall.

I think I only have one more thing to reserve.:surfweb:

My rental car going to the Port priror nite.
Gonna use Budget I think as they have a free shuttle back to the port.

I have a free day at National so I think leaving port I will pay a cab to bring me to rental car terminal as it may be faster and I can use the free day.

I'm thinking about packing. For our first cruise, I had lists. Lists and lists and lists of everything. We didn't use half of what we brought. I get more laid back each cruise, but then of course, I run around like a maniac the last weekend before we leave because I'm "missing" things. I did plan out what we're taking, I end up packing for everyone but oldest dd, so I get to decide what they wear.

Julie

I always take too much stuff! And never wear half of it, even if I'm just going away for one night! We are driving in, so I have room, but I'm trying to scale back. We need new suitcases. Anyone have a favorite bag to recommend?

And tell me about these lists.... Someone needs to post a suggested packing list.

Hadley, congratulations on the job! I thought about getting my MLS as well. I live in a small town, but we have an awesome library! :thumbsup2 I work as a paralegal now, but I have a degree in English. I guess it could still happen.

Did you see the preview for HSM3 before the movie? I was freaking out!!!!!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

Mama Mia was a good movie! I enjoyed it! :)

You will not be disappionted with this camcorder....It's lightweight and has many features...I suggest playing around with it prior to the cruise...:yay:

If I can be of any futher assistance just let me know!!!!

charlie:woohoo:

Can you tell me the pros and cons of the different kind of video cameras:
The ones that record on:
DVD
Memory card
MiniDv

I like the idea of the DVD ones because you can just put them right into the DVD player to watch it, but they are a little bit more bulky than the others.
As for the other 2 kinds, how does a person who is not so good at "technical" stuff transfer the videos onto DVD easily????

Nope. No HSM preview here. Too bad we would have really liked to see it:sad2: There was just one preview--for a football film dealing with racial tensions I think. The sounds was not workign at that point so I really did not pay much attention (too busy hoping it would work for the feature film--did not at first--they had to stop it, fix the problem and rewind--ahhh the joys of a small town with older technology!).

Hadley, belated congrats on the job! :thumbsup2
Glad you enjoyed the movie. I'm a huge ABBA fan so I am a little biased ;)

We had that preview too...it's bummer that you didn't get to see the HSM3 preview. :sad1:

I have to admit something...I think I'm addicted to making Mousekeeping envelopes for WDW!!!! I have made 6 so far...we have 9 nights so I have 2 more to go since I"m working on the 7th one right now. It's so much fun!!!!

Hope everybody is having a great night!!! :)

OK, what about a spare battery for this camcorder? Where can I get the best price? You are pretty good because I checked this model elsewhere and I could not find it cheaper, that is unusual! I can always find things cheaper....that means one thing.....you are a bargain shopper like me!

Thanks,
Crissi

I am an obsessive overpacker too! We are bringing 2 rolling duffles and a big suitcase and a regular duffle for starters! I bought an LL Bean Medium sized rolling duffle and it is great! I talked to someone today who was on a cruise a few months ago and warned me about no space for the luggage......I already had that covered ! The medium counts as a regular bag, the large size would be an over sized bag and the airline would charge extra.

I LOVE this store. I just found my son a suit there for $40. I couldn't find a size 5 for Braden though :sad2: I have looked at Ebay, but it's hard to tell if they will fit. I'm not really sure where else to go. I don't want to spend a lot since they will only wear it probably for the cruise.

What is that? Are they the envelopes used for tips? Can you send pics on what you did?

Have any of you stayed at a Disney hotel and used the bus to go to other places like the Wilderness Lodge? We aren't doing WDW, so I was trying to find something we can just ride the bus and go to so we don't have to rent a car. Any ideas?

Somebody said to try the Wilderness Lodge. I heard they have free movies and smores for the kids. Don't we have to stay there to do this? I was also thinking of going to the Boardwalk area.

Yes you can take disney bus transportation to other hotels & resorts.
The Fort Wilderness Campgrounds has a nightly Chip & Dale sing-a-long and campfire with a movie. The movie is outdoors and free, but the smores are not free. They do sell the smore supplies at a small stand...
You would have to take a boat from MK, or a bus to Fort Wilderness Campgrounds.

A boat? Can anybody take that? Do you know how much it is? Sorry for all the questions. Thanks for the help.

also hard drive? yet I saw those are more expensive.

TOday I went to Circuit City on my lunch and played with camera's and camcorders. If only I won the lotto LOL. I really like the JVC you suggested Charlie. My only question is... how do you transer the mini dv to say a dvd? Can you plug it into your computer and download it then burn to a dvd? Or is there a player for the mini dv. I had an older sharp before that took 8mm tapes and basically when it went caput it ate the last tape. I had a bigger vsh tape to put the 8mm into to play. Is there something like that for the min dv's.

(Also I have to say you know your deals... so far that website is the cheapest even including shipping!)

Still deceiding between the canon s5, or the sd1100 I want the smallness of a camera but I love the 12xzoom. after that they basically have a lot of the same features. Desicions Desicions Desicions:rolleyes1

**also I have some packing list I will upload for everyone... then you all can determin which one you like better and alter to your preferences! :)

I had my own packing lists (probably more dangerous than the ones on-line). For our first cruise, I kid you now, we had an entire rolling duffle of shoes. Oh, and the battery recharger was in there too. But we had so much.

We'll be packing lighter because we usually drive, and we're not, and I have no husband to haul things on this trip. Okay, we won't be packing lighter, just not taking dh's share of too much stuff.

Packing Lists...

I saved this link about a year ago, and was actually thinking that I needed to dust it off and start working on it to personalize it for us. I found it on the Cruise Forum's main page from a DISer. Note that this download is a MS Excel file.

Hey Tonya! Yes. Anyone who is staying at a WDW resort has free access to boats, buses, and the monorail. There are boats available at many locations. It's a nice alternative to getting around and also allows you to "sit back" and enjoy the view and get some awesome pictures.

In case there are other places you might want to get around and see, use this helpful travel time and route calculator to see the various options on how to get from Point A to Point B.
