I am jealous! And quite impressed.:worship: It is our first cruise, and I am gradually becoming a nervous wreck. I even have a headache right now. I am a horrible packer. I told my DDs, both 12, that we would start today--operative word WE. They started w/out me and both came out w/a pile of clothes! I appreciate that they were willing to do it on their own, however . . . I will be spending this evening sorting through, matching up, and vetoing outfits.:laundy:

It will be ok believe me after 4 cruises and breakdowns with each one it does all come together. Like someone else stated with all of us if you forget something I am sure one of us will have something to replace it. The big thing is not to forget is your picture id and birth cert or your passport everything else you can either purchase or we will have. Just remember this is a vacation!!!:grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

I have less than 12 hours before we leave for the airport. Hope everyone can make it without any more problems. No more sick kids or delayed husbands. Happy packing, Lois

Lois

Safe travels and will see you all next Saturday.

Maureen

Me too!!!!! I'm so freaked out to fly and then reading those kind words made me feel a little better.

I dislike flying too - but I do like getting to Orlando in 2 hours. I'm not as fearful of it as I used to be - I used to just dread getting on the plane even weeks away from the trip - it put a big damper on the usual pre-trip excitement.

I like this website: http://www.fearlessflight.com/ They used to have discussion boards there - but I don't see them now. There are some good articles on turbulence and the like - typical things that make people nervous to fly.

What helps me the most is to get interested in a good book before I go - then I hooked on it during the flight (and an Ipod with some music so I can't hear the plane noises). With 2 kids sitting next to me it is hard to tune out though! LOL! We're flying Jet Blue which has direct TV at each seat so that is fun to watch. A few Spongebob episodes and we're landing....whew!:upsidedow

Hi Everyone.........

STELLA ~ Great job on the Treasure Maps.

I received Decks 1,2,5,8. Still need 6 & 7.

We fly next Thursday at 6 pm. The kids are excited to add landing at Philadelpha to their airport list and really excited to fly at night and see the lights. Everyone's suitcase is packed except mine. Everything is just waiting to jump into it. Can't seem to decide on how many shoes....I wanted to wear my Crocs, but they are sea blue, navy and pink ...... nothing I'm taking matches the darn things. Another excuse to shop tomorrow:laughing:  DH just shakes his head
:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Everyone getting there early......safe travels.

I am sure you son will not want to hang out with a 4 year old but my son is very into firefighting, emt and police people. Maybe he could tell my son some stories about being EMT.

DS is VERY good with children.. He loves them and they seem to be in awe of him for some reason.. Must be his personality.. I know my son would Love to talk to your son about EMT and his Best Friend is a Firefighter :goodvibes

That is wonderful to see how God works things out for the best in the end. That is awesome.

::yes:: Thank You

Lois, have a safe trip. I won't be leaving until next Friday. My husband is not going, but I am part of Stacy's family group.

Aunt Michele,
Uncle Buddy is going to be so sorry he missed it :snooty: Cause we plan to have ALOT of fun and laughs

I am so excited... look at what Kris/njdrumrun made for my DD!

cruisepillow4.jpg

Custom colors and everything - the boys' will be shades of blue and green. The kids are going to *flip* when they see these - thank you Kris!!! :goodvibes

Kimberly - that post made me cry. I :lovestruc my DIS family!

Heather - I just sent you about a gazillion PMs; sorry about that. I kept coming across things in the thread as I was catching up on the past 30+ pages... I can't believe you live in Flower Mound! I've actually been there!

Palo - if anyone has two extra spots for any day, any time, please keep me and my DH in mind. We'd love to try Palo and we can't be at the port early, so we'll have to rely on the the kindness of strangers (some, no doubt, stranger than others!) if we have any hope of getting a ressie.

To everyone traveling this weekend - HAPPY AND SAFE travels! I can't wait until we are all together for a MAGICal time! :goodvibes

We are leaving early Friday morning, so I will be DISing until mid-Thursday. So much still to do - finished my FE gifts but still haven't sewn our FEs... only five more garments left to sew, and I should knock out two more of those tonight... haven't even started packing yet, oy... still need to check in online and start printing all my important paperwork... DDD-logo shirts are done and turned out really cute... still need to make some door magnets (but I am NOT going overboard!)... ahhhhhhh! I need a few more days! LOL

Alright. I'm heading to bed. I've sent out the maps to those that have PMed me. If anyone else needs them, I will be glad to send them, but it will have to be tomorrow evening. DD's pirate birthday party is tomorrow.

Wow ..... Less than a week now for me. :)

Hello everyone! Not sure if I need to introduce myself, I suppose the screen name gives it away. Chris has been trying to convince me to post for awhile now. I created an account weeks ago but am just now getting around to posting. I have kept up somewhat with trying to read but I am always too tired to start posting after catching up on this chatty bunch.

Things have been very busy around here with both girls starting school, their numerous activities, finishing FE gifts and of course trying to keep Chris in line. :sad2:
I am definitely ready for this vacation. Guess I should start packing:confused3

I don't think we are on the Treasure Map. I hope Chris hasn't scared you all so much that you will be afraid to visit our FE. I wouldn't mind but the girls would be disappointed. There is no reason to fear. Since neither Chris or I are crafty in the sewing area we outsourced the creation of our FE. So no products used in our FE came from our home or more specifically from Chris's "drawers" :scared1: :rotfl:
We have a really awesome looking FE made by Tiffany (Thank you so much Tiffany, it is better than we had even hoped).

Sue (sorry, never even made a signature yet)

I can't remember who, but someone had asked if we are Illinois fans because of Chris's orange shirt. Nope, we are definitely not Illini fans. We have actually only been in IL for just under four years. We are Badger faithful through and through. We are both Alumni from the UW.

The reason he had ordered the orange Mickey polo was because it matched his bright orange crocs.:rolleyes1
You see, everyone was making fun of him a few years ago when he said he was going to buy crocs so he decided if he was going to get funny looking shoes he may as well get them in the loudest color possible. :3dglasses Yes, I know, I married him. Like he always says, I thought it was just a phase :confused3

I am looking forward to meeting everyone. You seem like a great group of people. I hope you all have safe travels. I am envious of everyone already in WDW. I just couldn't take Vicki out of school more than the 6 days we already are. They didn't give me a hard time at school at all. They just asked for a letter with the dates in writing. I had written the letter out to the principal and the lady in the office was like, "oh this just goes to me, I need it for keeping attendance. I am hoping the teacher will let me pull together any homework for her next week when I am volunteering in the classroom. I think the official school policy is not to give assignments until the student returns but I know this teacher gave my neighbors daughter homework in advance for two separate vacations last year. But as Chris knows I will stress about it until I have the homework in hand.:scared:

Sue

Thank You so much for your kind words.. DS is actually mine from a previous marraige, whom DH adopted as his own when DS was 9.. We have been with DH since our son was close to 8 years old.. DS & I went through alot together, I was 16 when I got pregnant and married his bio father at 18. His bio father is an alcholic.. He got abusive with me, never DS *thank goodness*, and grew apart. He wanted to Party and I wanted to be a responsible parent for my son.. DH has been a VERY strong role model for DS and they respect each other so much.. We are very blessed to have found DH.. :lovestruc It's funny, when you see the two of them together, you would Never think they weren't full blood father & son.. So many people tell us how they look alike.. :goodvibes

just too cool!! :worship:

anyone know "he didn't have to be"?

Nice to finally "meet" you :)

Oh my everyone has been so chatty this past week. I wish I had time to catch up and make a huge post, but we have my brother's wedding tomorrow and then I'm heading to WDW. So exciting to see people IRL and I can't wait to be on the ship with such a fabulous group of folks. I will have my laptop and will check in from FL on Sun or Mon. I hope everyone has safe travels and magical trips:goodvibes

Hi Sue!!!! It's so nice to finally 'meet' you! Don't worry, your husband has made me laugh so many times, I look forward to meeting your family! :)

Well, this is probably going to be my last post before Dave and I leave tomorrow...unless I have time to jump online once I get down to his house, but I'm not sure if that will happen! If not, everybody have a safe trip to Florida and I'm looking forward to meeting everyone next week! :)

We'll be there too! We booked 9/12/09 the day booking opened!

Awesome - we are getting quite the group!

HEY! Some of us are stuck at home until next Friday!!!!!! I hope this thread isn't quite dead YET. Surely, it has another week of life in it. :)

Yeah, I am one of them so I will be on the board more than other I am sure! :surfweb:

I am jealous! And quite impressed.:worship: It is our first cruise, and I am gradually becoming a nervous wreck.

My handy packing tip (coming from someone who has not packed a thing yet). Pack everything you think you will need - then take half of it out - you won't need it anyways! :lmao:

I dislike flying too - but I do like getting to Orlando in 2 hours. I'm not as fearful of it as I used to be - I used to just dread getting on the plane even weeks away from the trip - it put a big damper on the usual pre-trip excitement.

DH loves flying - he particularly loves turbulence :confused3 I on the other hand would drive everywhere if I could - why can't they get a direct train from Dallas??? Anyways, my biggest mistake was when I took the pilot of the tv show Lost on a trip with me - in case you haven't seen it - the doggone show is all about a plane crash :scared1:

So I did some shopping (details on my trip report) but got some amazing details......:yay: especially at the Disney Store outlet. My secret Mickey friends are going to get some great stuff!!! :wizard:

So I spent (with Alex, aka Medical Disaster Boy) another night in the ER. Apparently his drain was a little prematurely removed, and he's draining through the hole. He also had a 102.5 F fever this evening, and the uro on call said, "take him to the ER".So off I trotted (in my own car, thankfully, power steering now repaired, but now we have that pesky "check engine" light- time for a new van, I think).

A new prescription for antibiotics later (since they couldn't find anything wrong with him besides the obvious), we're home. Stopped at the 24 hour pharmacy. Pharmacist says he never dispensed the antibiotic in question in his career. I better call around tomorrow.:confused3

So one more trip to see his doctor (who I like less and less each time we have contact), and then by hook or by crook, I'm herding those kidlings onto the 6:55 AM Southwest flight on Wednesday. Of course they only gave me a 10 day script for the new medication.

Have a great trip all that are leaving!

If there's a total screw up and we can't make it, I'll email the Palo brunch info to a few people and maybe someone will take it over.

Off to bed.
Julie

i finally got the pic to post:cool1:  !!
