The boards have been fairly quiet this weekend. We were all busy doing cruise stuff I guess. I did manage to get all of my Door Magnets printed off, although I do have one more sheet of magnetic paper to use..........hmm Bought DH a tie that matches my new dress for formal night........I decided against the poofy dress I bought on ebay Oh, I also ordered my new camcorder, thanks Charlie

No, when I looked the prices were the same for both codes. I did have a reservation too and canceled it to rebook with the lower rate.

Hello everyone,

Almost thought we were going to have a big disappointment. Last night my mother who already wheel chair bound and uses a walker fell in her room. Here we are 2 weeks away and they (my parents) were going to have to cancel. We went to ER this morning and luckily it just a sprain. She does have to stay off it for at least a week. The part we were worried about is that even though she's in a wheel chair, she does walk with the walker to get to her seat on the plane. I hope nothing else happens in the next 2 weeks.

Oh my goodness I got so much done today I'm way happy. I have 2 boxes ready to ship down to WDW (one with FE stuff in it) and I finally finished my Fish Extender I'm really happy with it. I hand pieced the pirate ship applique and bejeweled it to add a wee bit of sparkle to it

LOOKS AWESOME.. cant wait to see them all up close and personal!

I have enjoyed reading through all of your posts and am very impressed with all the detail you have given toward your trip. We recently (last week)....yes three weeks to prepare...... booked our trip. We live in Orlando and go to PC often....we are excited to be on the Disney ship instead of waving good buy to it. I found alot of great information and would like more info on things you are going to 'get signed'. I have three kiddies, DD turning six on our return date, DS 3, DS almost 2. I would like to surprise them with somthing signed but hoped some of you had other ideas besides pillowcases. Thanks for sharing!

I am afraid that I will probably missing out on this particular trip....Hotwire has already refunded my plane tickets without me asking...I hope Disney will be just as generous. I need all the help i can get at this point. Pray for us please. we need it.

***** so i had planned to make all my tshirts today.. We go to Michaels pick out shirts since they were on sale. I had printed all my transfers this weekend at my friends. And when I get home learn that since i didnt read the directions I just ASSUMED...(ya yaya I know you should never do that) that the DARK tshirt transfers are the same as the LIGHT ones.. NOPE dark you dont have to flip for the wording.. SO out of 12 tshirts I was going to do...

I was only able to do 6... im now out of paper.. well i have 2 sheets left but my friend was going to print 2 more images for me and send them to me.. that i forgot.. so now.. going to see if I can get her to buy another thing of paper and do the others that i screwed up on and fix for me.. if not ... E and I will have pirate shirts... LOL. The boys will have shirts for the plane ride there, and they will also have shirts for the Magic Kingdom.

SO YA nothing accomplished.. Im mad.. at myself for not reading.. I SHOULD KNOW BETTER THEN THIS DARN IT...

OK...so if I'm thinking about iron-on transfers for a shirt, I need to flip the design around like in a photo program before printing it out? I'm thinking about doing a shirt for the MNSSHP and this is the only option I have at this late time!

I was re-reading my Passporter tonight and I am so excited to go now!!!!!!!!!!

I found a board book at Michael's arts and crafts and bought the size big enough to add 4 x6 photos. I plan on having the characters sign the blank board book pages and then add my photos to it and voila a custom made book for my son starring him and the Disney characters. It was like $7.95 at Michaels over in the scrapbooking area and I also bought (without my son's knowledge, an orange sharpie for the characters to use. Orange is his favorite color) Hope this helps.

Ok everyone, I know I had to get a pep talk a while back but I need another one. I am soooo stressing over this vacation. To the point that I am driving my husband nuts. We got into a "small" discussion last night that left me in tears (my doing, not his). I am so stressed over getting shirts done, packing everything, making sure I have enough F/E gifts made and fretting over the fact that I can't make one for everybody, etc. I have never been this stressed for a vacation before. My DH keeps reminding me that it is exactly that - a vacation. Not a time to stress, freak out, etc. I just feel like I have so many outside activities going on (also my own doing) that I can't devote the time needed to properly prepare for this trip. I was able to make one iron on tshirt last night out of the 3 I am going to make. It didn't turn out exactly as planned but will have to do. (I feel some of your pain Drea). My MIL was going to make matching shirts for us also and I bought two matching shirts for myself and DS and ordered my husband one off the internet. It was supposed to be same name brand, same color, etc. They all discovered yesterday that they are not even close in color. I have ordered blank ones again to now match DH and not sure they will arrive in time. HELP ME stop stressing.

For those of you doing Dolphin encounters in Cozumel – They mention that only biodegradable sun block products are allowed. Do you plan on bringing this with you? Is it available at Chankanaab? Do they charge you for it? How do they know what you are using? Has anyone found eco-friendly products locally as opposed to ordering online from, say, Mexi-Tan?

The vacation police are going to come and arrest you if you don't stop stressing! LOL! I can't remember if this is your first cruise but I think these boards, while a great deal of fun, can put a great deal of pressure to get things "perfect." Down to the point where you are stressing which boarding pass number you get in the terminal.

All that matters is that you show up, bring the passport or birth certs and ID, be wearing some clothes (and at least one more change of clothes is good), and a bathing suit and some sunscreen if you need it (and medications at the top of the list if you have prescribed ones). Dressing up for the pics is fun and costumes for pirate night is fun and formal wear is fun and getting the autographed pillowcase and making sure to be on this side of the boat for the fireworks or whatever -all good. But....eventually just too much to deal with.

I think the people who end up having the most fun are the ones that don't try to do it all and don't overpack. I get stressed about it too - that first cruise last year was more stressful than this one in terms of getting things done. I'd just forget about the matching shirts or whatever. If I can't buy the things for $10 at Target I don't do it....

Well....he did. He hiked right up to Ohio.

First of all, I MUST state that I do have it in perspective that so many homes have been lost, flooded, or damaged, not to mention the fatalities this summer. That being said, the 75 MPH winds we had yesterday have caused many inconveniences here.

It was kinda strange as these south winds came through yesterday afternoon. It was partly cloudy, but for the most part pretty sunny out. The temperature was up to 90 degrees, and I don't know what the official humidity level was, but it was thick! I was finishing up laundry and doing some serious packing for vacation as we were having brown-outs. Well that changed, and now I've been without power for 19 hours. Nearly 60% of the customers in our county alone are without power, not to mention surrounding counties. The ETA for everyone in my county to have power restored goes out to 7 days. SEVEN days. American Electric Power has a press release out stating that much of the reason for the long period of time for restoration is that they have a lot of their crew down in Texas helping them. So they're sending those guys back up home to help.

The impact of 75 MPH winds doesn't hold a candle to hurricane force winds, but it has done its toll. I've heard 3 people died from trees falling down. I was shocked that our work building had power today (and frankly disappointed!). This area has power issues quite frequently. I understand that many of the businesses around us still have no power, however. As I passed places like McDonalds & Tim Hortons on my drive to work this morning, those that were open had LONG LINES in their drive-thrus. Some grocery stores are still closed. There are trees or large branches down everywhere and neighborhoods have lawn furniture scattered all around.

Knowing the history of power outages, my neighborhood is 90% of the time the last to regain power. So I probably have to make a call by tomorrow night as to if I should go ahead and throw away food in a PACKED upright freezer. I think I've already come to a conclusion in my mind that I have to make time to deal with that before I leave on Saturday. UGH. Again, a VERY SMALL loss compared to those recently hit with Hanna and directly hit by Ike. I just can't believe he kept that much intensity all the way up here! We get remnants of hurricanes here, but this was soooo different. Especially with no rain! Weird!

My best friend is in town for a convention, so I think I'm heading to her hotel tonight so I can wash and dry my hair. Thankfully my hot water heater uses gas. I'm not sure if I'll be able to keep up with the board this week, but I'll try. I have yet to read anything posted since yesterday early afternoon, so my apologies if I've missed something important to respond to.

On a happier note, I'm shipping boxes to Floriday today!!! I also have 85% of my packing done!!

Dont worry about it! I didnt get us shirts with logo on them. and I am no where near talented enough to make them. Dh hasnt even packed yet.
I have clothes in piles and still havent finished my f/e's.
Just relax, that is what vacation is for !!

if you forget something, there are enough of us on this board who will have it. just leave a note on our message boards!!

I say don't sweat the small stuff. This is a vacation. Do what you can and if something doesn't get done it is OK. I am not doing shrits and I just got small stuff for the FE. I just don't have the time and needed to let it go. I have a need for this vacation to be relaxing so I am really trying (not an easy task) to not get stressed out over stuff I have no control.
