I LOVE Kohl's and their Sales!!! :thumbsup2

Nope, I don't do laundry while on the ship either.. It IS my vacation ya' know :snooty:

;)

My mom loves the sales at Kohl's too! She'll come home with bags and bags of merchandise will have paid next to nothing for it! I don't know how she does it! LOL!!!

As far as laundry is concerned, my DBF and I are going to have to do laundry since we'll be gone for 2 weeks. We're packing one set of clothes and will wear it twice (shhhhhhh...that's a secret! ;) ), once at WDW and once on the boat.

I'm getting more and more excited for the trip as the days go on!!!!

We're going to WDW before the cruise. No way am I doing laundry.:laundy: I just bring twice as much!

You might have read my post last night around 9 o'clock... I said look at the other mass... Now look!

Well, if Josephine comes back to life to haunt us, this would be her couisn Kyle joining her.

I give up! I need a stiff DRINK!!!!!!

I am soo mad and sad, all the VB pieces I ordered will not be in in time for our cruise. :(
so I changed the color to be guaranteed to atleast one piece, but I risk not getting the other one!! Ugh!

I'm wearing white capris the first night. We'll look fine. Lots of people wear shorts the first night. Some even jeans! In 5 cruises I've never ever seen DCL staff enforce the dress code.

same here..........I 've only seen them enforce dress code in PALO

Coming late to the online party...but will be seeing you all in a couple weeks.

In case anyone is interested...just got Hyatt MCO on hotwire for the night before the cruise for $79 - a real steal. Especially fantastic for us as our AirTran flight will arrive (if all goes well) at 11:30 pm on Friday. Thanks again Midwest for cancelling my flight. Arggh.

This trip will just be my DH and myself.

Love all the great info everyone, thanks.

Mmmmm Crawfish Gumbo in the Sports Bar.
Worth the trip!!!

I will be on the AirTran 2:35.

There are two direct flights in the afternoon time area. Try to get waitlisted since it is just the two of you.

I wanted to post this quickly...

It looks like our Galveston/Houston friends are in for some serious trouble with Ike. We are in the DFW area. If you are visiting town & need anything, please PM me. I would put my cell number here, but I'm afraid that's not smart.

They've cancelled Jessie's volleyball tournament for tomorrow because if Ike:confused3 My understanding is that, here, we're getting rain. Still not sure why they cancelled her stuff.

BUT-if you have family members that have come to DFW for safety, feel free to PM me as well. I want to help if someone needs it!

That is very kind of you. I wish I could help more, but there's nothing coming to PA just yet.

Anyone else?? I think I am missing some
hmm wonder if im taking enough transfers LOL

I have successfully kept both DD away from the American Girl store in Chicago.

Every day I take the train home and I see Dad's with big Red Bags.
IM so glad I have boys LOL I would much rather step on a matchbox car that cost me 97cents then spend millions on dolls.. (sorry thats the tomboy in my talking LOL)

Do you Tip any of the kids clubs crew members? They have 3 kids.. 14, 12, 11 so I wasn't sure if I should tell them to add some more money in to tip the Kid's Leaders..

:confused3
I read somewhere they dont take tips but Candy is appriciate!

I can't remember for sure, but I think the first night we didn't change for dinner since we had early seating. So, do you think it would be okay if we all went to dinner in our custom t-shirts, short/capris?
I think the 1st night is fine (not having ever been on a Dcruise before but what are they going to do throw you out LOL

I havent truly packed yet.. everything is just in big piles in my room. looks like a bomb went off. :rotfl2:
Good we are the same lol

Go USC!!!

I get your attention Kimberly?
FIGHT ON TROJANS! :thumbsup2

IMO, I honestly would not worry about it. They sound fine. We have seen people wear shorts and well as Jeans even in the fanciest of the DCL restaraunts..
Well I will be in Jeans (not at Palos.. if we get resie's) most nights, but looking nice not bummy. I get cold after a day of being in the sun and not risking being sick.. and not getting fully dressed up in slacks everynight. And I dont do khakies (Worked at Target for too long I hate them now... khakies not Target LOL):rotfl2:

we finally decided on what to wear for our fun family pic, so now I need to go and buy those shirts. :) should be easy to find. :)

Am I the only one not planning on doing laundry?
Trying to decied on matching somethig or another for at least 1 of our pics but nada yet.

NOPE were not doing laundry either.. well not on the cruise. When they kick us off I might do a load at the POP before we start the parks the next day

You might have read my post last night around 9 o'clock... I said look at the other mass... Now look!

aww man no more relatives... and I agree with your needing a drink same here!

WELCOME!!!! Check out post #1 for info

I am at 8 days and still counting!! We fly out next Saturday. Time is now going by too fast. Way too fast! Lois
WOOHOO LOIS!!!!

I haven't peaked either:cutie: . I LIKE surprises.

LOL! Good! I like them, too!

nope me either! actually I forgot about it.. but now.. lol jk

LOL! Good for you!

I am *SO* excited!! DM and DGM came down tonight to drop off my dresses and ensure they fit. :thumbsup2 DGM did an awesome job on them! Too bad I have to decide on only one of them for this cruise!

Furthermore, she brought my pirate costume. It has turned out to be EXACTLY what I had in mind. I am so thrilled. More great news....I don't think the marabou needs to be on the hat. So that dreadful task that I've been avoiding is off the list!

HEY! What about me?!! I didn't peek either!!

Awesome about the dresses and the costume!!!!

Really?! I'm shocked, Kimberly!

Awww I cant wait to see everyone all dressed up.. HECK I cant wait to just see everyone LOL!

Now I wish I would have got us all pirate costumes...hmm theres still time since I havent made our pirate shirts yet :rotfl2:

I can't wait to see everyone, either!!!

LOL!!! You can still do it. Do you have a costume place near by? We have one that opens every year around this time for Halloween stuff. That's where I found shirts for the boys. We're going to use ours a lot, though, since we're doing Jaydin's party in the pirate theme.

I'm making shirts this weekend. I sure hope they turn out ok.

Good to know. LOL I printed off post #1 earlier tonight so much great information in there thanks for keeping it up for us and adding all that
information it is so nice to have it as a reference point:goodvibes

I printed it off, too. *7* pages of ONE POST!!! LOL!!!!! My travel agent was looking at it the other night and laughed and laughed because we have so much planned and so much info. She *tried* to follow our threads, but couldn't!!!! LOL!!!! She *dared* to say that we're CRAZY! Can you believe it?! :lmao:

Who isn't packed? Besides us? I'm not feeling the panic setting in yet, so have zero motivation.

Oh, heck, Julie. I'm not even close. I can't even set out bags or anything until after next Saturday. That's Jaydin's party here at the house. I have to have it clean for everyone. I guess we'll pack on Thursday the 25th.

Nope..I haven't peeked either (but I have to admit its been REALLY hard not to.

Not packed either..but I have all weekend to work on this stuff.

Now..Ike news...while we aren't getting the hurricane, we've already started getting 45 MPH winds where I live and at least 4 'striaght line wind disterbances' (AKA tornados that haven't touched down)have passed through the area this morning. My sweetheart of a boss called and told me to work from home because she did NOT want me making my 50 mile commute in this weather. I must admit..its been really nice curled up in my chari in my pjs working this morning. :cool1:

Good for you!!!

Take care of yourselves. Don't go out if you don't have to. Glad your boss let you work from home today.

I'm seriously jealous of you homeschool people - LOL! Anyone do K12?

We don't do that. We like choosing our own stuff. I LOVE homeschooling for a lot of reason - vacation times included.

We count so little time when we do anything Disney related. We have to prove 900 hours of instruction for grades 1-6, and 990 hours grades 7-12, but I only count things like ruins tours, museums, etc. Now if we did a Med cruise as above, that would be educational. Which cruise line are you looking at for that? I'd love to do Eastern/Southern Med. Our other choice would be Yangtze River or some other far East cruise.

Julie

Yikes, Julie!!! I'm glad I don't live where you live. We don't have to 'prove' anything. We have to send in a declaration of intent to homeschool every year, send in attendance reports each month, write/keep an assessment each year, and test every three years. We don't have to turn in the assessment or the tests to anyone, and we don't have to show what curriculum or books we're using. We're pretty lucky with all of that.

I think I need to add a few pages to Jaydin's book.

This is what I sent my SIL for tipping guidelines:
Here are the recommended amounts. I always tip recommended amounts by going to guest services during the cruise and authorize the charge to my credit card. On Friday of the cruise you get the printed receipts, and envelopes to hand to the four different people recommended tip:

Restaurant Server $28.00 per person per trip
Restaurant Assistant Server 21.00 per person per trip
Head Server 7.00 per person per trip
Stateroom Host 28.00 per person per trip
Total Per Person Per Trip $84.00 for a single, and $168.00 total for a couple for the entire trip. For 5 it is indeed, $420.00 recommended tip.

This might be good info for .... that 7-page post one. :)

Am I the only one not planning on doing laundry?

I think we're going to take some detergent in case we need to do a load, but no, I'm not planning to do laundry on the trip.

I know K12 is expensive but it looks more like something even "I" could manage. ;) They seemed to have changed their program a lot this year with the addition of the International Academy (online private school). It wouldn't be so great if they had strict limits on trips and the like during school times..
The cruise to the eastern Med. is on RCCL - the best way to find the ones that go to Egypt is to search specifically for that port with their search function. Because of my son's medical issues we might prefer to do a cruise like that rather than travel on our own or take a more extensive Egyptian tour - I like the idea of having the dining/lodging/doctors on the boat!

I might have to look into do that cruise. That would be an awesome way to see Egypt. That's something my family has wanted to do for a long time.

I am soo mad and sad, all the VB pieces I ordered will not be in in time for our cruise. :(

Ok, Chris ..... do you know ALL the food in all of the hotels and restaurants all over the place or what?!

I may have missed this along the way, but did this get e-mailed out yet? I'm trying to go through and print stuff out tonight for my trip and I can't remember if we got this yet or not.

Nope...Hope Stella is doing OK.

Who isn't packed? Besides us?

HA!
So...my schedule for packing: Wed, Sept 24th = laundry, Thurs, Sept 25th = pack

Plenty of time. We don't even *have* all our stuff yet. I still have to buy formal/semi dresses for Sarah and shoes for her and Savannah (and maybe Brendan. No panic (or motivation) here either. :thumbsup2

Lots of people wear shorts the first night. Some even jeans! .
Nice jeans are OK, especially on guys with a nice button down l/s shirt. Ron will wear that on casual nights. I don't wear jeans because I have an aversion to pants, but I do plan on wearing a denim skirt on one of the more casual dinners. I also probably won't change on the first day either, I plan on wearing a polo and patterned skirt. Very casual.

Shorts are fine on pirate night, though right??? I don't wanna be gettin' the stink eye from ya'll!

Ok, Chris ..... do you know ALL the food in all of the hotels and restaurants all over the place or what?!

I am very into Detail. Mrs FatCat thought it was just a phase and I would grow out of it. (Along with other odd habits)
