I just snagged (paid for) an upgrade from a cat 7 to a cat 5 gty... for get this - about $150!!!!! AAAAAAAAH.... DH will be so surprised! Poor guy really needs a vacation after this mess with Ike.

We are staying at the Residence Inn- Cape Canaveral, flying in from St.Louis. My DS would prefer to be wearing Crosby Peiguins hockey jersey, but we'll have to settle for the BLUES. Any other crazy hockey families pulling their player from the ice for an entire WEEK? We will probably be getting out to dinner that night...I know some have talked about Grills. We are going to play it by ear, but I am sure we will end up there, around 7pm or so.

We are flying Southwest out of St. Louis on the 26th. 8:00am. Will I be seeing Blues Jerseys?

I am booked through Dreams. Maybe I'll shoot them an email and find out if there's anything available.

The jump from verandah to no verandah even at the begining is the big one.

Going deck to deck same room layout is not as bad.

So 8 to 5 was pretty pricey.
Also I have 4 people in my room as well

When looking at price on DCL make sure you remove or keep transportation or insurance as they automatically include those in price.
And apply 10% on board booking discount if applicable. Usually it works out to actually around 8 -8.5% of the quote on DCL due to taxes and the fact that the 10% discount is only on the commisionable part of the cruise.

Congratulations!!!! I'm so thrilled that you'll get this, especially like you said, because of the headaches with Ike!

For the rest of you wondering how she did that, I am pretty sure that Nette purchased her cruise very recently. If that's true, that's not surprising to see an upgrade for such a minimal cost.

Let's talk about Palo... if we got a group together for the room (i didn't even know they had a room) how many people would be interested? I might be able to pull a few strings. wink*wink*

From what I've read, the rooms are typically requested even 6 months prior to sailing, then as T-30 hones in, DCL takes all the faxed requests and starts assigning the room.

Julie (skoi) is one of our experts on here for this topic as she was our coordinator for our DIS brunch that she successfully snatched for us! Stacy, you're the sad one who lost members of your group, so you didn't have enough people to fulfill the minimum number of seats, right? (I feel sooooooooo bad for you! I know you really wanted to celebrate with everyone together.)

If the Penguins had won the Stanley cup we were going to get jerseys for our family fun photo. I cant see paying 100-150 per jersey , cant seem to find knock off hockey jerseys like you can football jersey.

Does anyone know if there are still seats for the DIS brunch? which day is it even? (I seem to be a day late on this one).

Brunches are on sea days. Monday/ Thursday. The brunches were full when I went to book at 90 days. Everyone once in a while a vacancy opens up. They do hold some spaces back, so do the mad dash to Rockin' D bar to hopefully get a spot.

just checked the website... for me to upgrade to a 5 (all thats left to go up to) would be $2969.. granted I started with a 12 got a 10 so yikes no thanks LOL
