"we're not going to be the first cruise after dry dock!!! dis announced a new3 nt cruise on magic 9/24"

Her being an engineer, I found her reply both classic and hilarious:
"Good. If maintenance messed something up, they will sink, not us. : )"

Now I must gloat (it is why I logged on ):
By this time tomrrow Rio, Dave and I will be at Jason and Erik's house We get to spend ALL weekend with them and we are seeing WICKED with them also. It really can't get much better than that--but well it does. Next week on Wednesday I will get to see Sandi and her family (Hoagie Pie) who are going to be in Boston for a wedding.
I feel like a Visa commercial:

Transatlantic Cruise--$2100
Making the BEST friends and getting to hang with them in the next week--PRICELESS

There can be no more bad news. No third item to go wrong. This is Disney for goodness sake!!!

There just seems to be so much sadness and sorrow all around. Costa Maya; Who needs our cash and now we can not help, Family and family who have been called home far too early, and now storms and flooding that have taking so much property and life.

This has really put things in perspective for me. I have a job and my family is doing ok. So for today; I will give thanks for what I have been blessed with and try to help where I can.

Well need to try to get some more sleep. The dogs felt they needed to go out. So now I DIS when I should be sleeping. Lois

My In - Laws *who will be cruising with us* are coming tomorrow from Colorado.. My MIL told me they got SNOW 2 days ago.. but it melts pretty fast..

DS is graduating from High School next Saturday so the In Laws are coming to watch.. We are going to see Mary Poppins on the 22nd on Broadway and I can't wait..

Wonderful idea!

I was toying with the idea of doing the island tour and stingray snorkel with Nativeways, but now I'm thinking we might just try and take a cab up to Hell and the Tortuga Rum Cake Bakery and then come back and hang out on Seven Mile Beach.

Isn't there also a ferry to Rum Point? Does anyone have info on that? Would that be cheaper/quicker than taking a cab all the way there?

So for those of us clueless in the "making new friends" arena, how do I advertise "you met me on the DIS!" so folks will just run up and say hi? You aren't all wearing your logo shirts every day, right?? Our first cruise, we were so caught up in "let's go do this, let's go check this out" that we didn't meet a single soul. So we are obviously anti-social.

I don't really care if I don't meet a soul (ok no wonder I don't ever make friends on vacation ) but I want my kids to make some close friends so having another family to hang out with while the kids are off plotting something would be fun.

Hi friends...we've been away for the past week on a family road trip. Our 14yo (who can't cruise with us) wouldn't tell us any vacation ideas. All she woudl say was "I don't like sun. I hate the beach. I don't want to be hot." When we would ask where she wanted to go, she would just shrug and say "I dunno."

So what did we plan? A road trip from Texas to Pigeon Forge, TN and a visit to Dollywood! Tee he he he

The road trip rocked (our first road trip) but Dollywood was...interesting. We had planned to stay for a 2 day visit, but only stayed for about 1/2 day.

We loved Pigeon Forge though & the whole area was stunning and beautiful. We drove straight through to come home (15 hrs) and made it home last night around 2am. The kids (Reese,4 and Jessie, 14) did amazing in the car that long.

It surprised me when I got a call on my cell phone while driving from Disney! All I wanted to do was log on here and see what everyone was saying about the port change!

Friday the 13th (so I'm glad we're not driving on the road today) AND it's our 7th Anniversary today. So shouldn't the lucky #7 cancel out any bad Friday the 13th stigma?

I did check the new logo, which I think ROCKS and is perfectly hillarious! I knew there was a reason I hadn't ordered anything yet!

Well quess what I just did I called DVC and asked if we could use points for the 3 day Magic cruise before ours. At first they didn't even know what I was talking about " a 3 day on the Magic"??? so they had to call DCL to get answers. Right now I am hanging on to see if we can use our points and if we can quess what we are doing a short version of a B2B!!! I should know by this afternoon. Can you just say I am just a bit exicited right now plus I never thought hubby would go for it !! Will let you all know when I get the return call!!
