Yay!!!!! Make sure it stays nice and clean for the rest of us! LOL!!!! :)

I will it must be selling out quickly because I couldn't get the Cat that I wanted ended up in a Cat 6 so I am hoping that my sept 27th ressie can be moved to a Cat 6 and we can stay in the same room the whole time.

Congrats :thumbsup2

I am jealous.. DH said NO :worried:

The only reason my DH said yes was because we are using our DVC points which means we won't have any points available for WDW trips that haven't been booked for another year unless  I move something around!!

Hi again. I'm just updating this list as I've been able to do more research. These Grand Cayman independents are getting very good reviews in a variety of sources:

Well, we've reserved a slot w/NativeWay Water Sports for GC:
9AM Rays, Reef, Rum Point (RRR)
They've gotten great reviews over on Cruise Critic & trip advisor.

I decided to go ahead & book since there will be !!!3!!! ships in port that day. I wanted to make sure there was still room available. Its gonna be crowded on GC.

So how may others are on the 1 pm Dolphin Encounter?

If you mean for Cozumel, we're booked at 1PM w/Dolphin Discovery (not thru DCL -- too expensive that way) - 2 adults & DD (5)

We are thinking of doing this same thing. Did you have to fax a credit card like they mention on the site?

We are doing the Dolphin at 2pm. the 1pm time frame was booked. We are hoping to maybe use their beach/pool ahead of time.

does anyone know if there is a charge for this?

Absolutely have to agree with you... DW and I were married in one of the old churches in Cades Cove, inside the National Park. :goodvibes

We were married there too! (Gatlinburg..the "Vegas" of the east coast!!):rotfl2:

Absolutely gorgeous area...one day if we can stop going on cruises for our vacation maybe we'll make it back up there!:thumbsup2

According to their website:
When you participate in the Dolphin Swim Adventure program in Cozumel Island, the admittance into the Chankanaab National Park is included

So I would assume there are no extra fees for pool/beach. There are fees, however, if you want to rent snorkel equip.

I have a couple of suggestions:

  • At this point, we plan to wear our DDD t-shirts only on embarkation day
  • Some (almost 300 actually) got their name in for the lanyards, so if you see our lanyards with our logo nametags, that's a great way to recognize people.
  • We've talked about having a DIS Meets before the muster drill. That will start the association of faces for the week. (That needs organized yet, btw....

    ;)
  • If you're not on the lanyard list, make your own nametag with our logo and attach it to a lanyard you may be wearing yourself or laminate it to make a "button"/badge to wear.

Great, thanks! I forgot about the lanyards. I did get on that list so we will have those. I still have managed to keep this a surprise from the girls. Every day I'm worried our travel kit will come and they will see it in the mailbox. I never did get a call/email about the port change. :confused3

CrazyZeus1, I have a dog named Zeus and we call him "CrazyZeus" all the time. :dogdance:

Originally, I sent them an email to see if they had space still for a party of 3. Wasn't sure, since its getting a little close & we're the 3rd ship scheduled to be there. Anyway, I didn't hear back from the email so I called. Here's the #s I found:
1-345-916-5027
Grand Cayman's #, available 7:30AM - 7PM

1-516-394-4365
NY #, available 5PM - 10:30PM

When I called, I gave her our CC info then - its only to hold the ressie, we'll actually pay on their tour boat. She sent a return confirmation email w/all the info. We meet them at 8AM right off the pier & are scheduled to be finished & back at the pier by about 1:45PM. Still time left for a bit of shopping & such. Gotta get some of that rum cake!!

One note:
when we're in Grand Cayman, we'll be on Central Standard Time. DCL should remind us to change watches & such, but something to be aware of just in case.

So how may others are on the 1 pm Dolphin Encounter?

Count us in! It will be me, DMom, and DGM!!

this is 'cause its booked w/DISers!!!
:rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: I think you're right! I do recall that there were a lot of us signing up about 2 weeks ago!

I did it!! Joe and I are booked on the Sept. 24th Magic cruise.:dance3:

Maureen

WOO HOO!!! I'm so thrilled for you!!! :woohoo: Selling out??!!! Really?!???? I'm actually SHOCKED! I figured it wouldn't be even near capacity being it's "short" notice, during the school year, and simply that unless they're FL residents, for many of us the cost of gas or airfare wouldn't warrant a 3 day cruise. Hopefully others who were already planning to be in WDW are able to take advantage of the quickie!

CrazyZeus1, I have a dog named Zeus and we call him "CrazyZeus" all the time. :dogdance:

My screen name came from our dog Zeus too! He was a tiny little dog & a big dog name fit perfect :rotfl:

OK...that is so funny that SO many of you either got married or honeymooned in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge. We kept seeing everyone's windows painted with "Just Married" and we were wondering...is this like Vegas? I guess so :goodvibes

So everyone is going to think we're NUTS (or maybe not) but we don't plan on making any excursion plans :)

Our favorite on-board time is when we're in port. Reese has the pool to himself, and two stops at Castaway Cay are plenty to get our beach fix. The last time we cruised, we got off the boat, tooled around the town and came back on board.

Other than Castaway Cay, we're happy to just stay on the boat & enjoy it. That's particularly why we chose this cruise...two stops at our favorite island and the rest is just cake :) So we won't be taking anyone's excursion times!

I buckled and ordered the Passporter '08 today. I had an old '06 copy that I had borrowed from a friend, but I decided I want to re-read it & make it my own. All this talk of Passporters a few weeks ago made me say, what the heck...but I didn't get all fancy like those Geeks do :hyper: I just got the regular old book...hehehehe

Lois & Stella:

Erika: I agree about Boatwain's, at first I really liked it, but then I saw the water in GC and have to be in it, Dh and I are leaning towards nativeway sports, waiting to hear from Crissi

Epperbiker: 3 ships :scared1: YIKES, its going to be crowded, thanks for all the links

CrazyZeus1: Happy Anniversary

Pit03: So jealous, keep the Magice nice and tidy for us, will ya?

Us and Crissichef and her family are also on the 1PM dolphing encounter, we are taking over the place:banana:

Have a good weekend!

I don't think that's crazy at all....if we were going to a port we'd been to before and didn't have new things to do...or if we were going to Nassau (which I absolutely LOATHE) we would stay on the boat, too....we'd watch movies, hang out in the rainforest room...get some wonderful spa treatment or something. In fact.....we're going on a Wonder 4-night next May and I'm already dreading having to get off the ship in Nassau----but my we're taking parents for their anniversary and they've never been so I'm sure they will want to to do something off the boat. ;)

That's so sweet of you to take your parents for their anniversary~! What a good son :goodvibes

Regarding the phone call from Disney...I have no idea why we got a phone call.

We booked directly through Disney (without a TA) onboard the last cruise. I just assumed they were calling everybody:rotfl:

Has anyone ever used Disney to coordinate a vow renewal?

Our 10th anniversary is in 3 years (obviously, if today is our 7th~) and we want to bring all our extended family onboard a Disney cruise & renew vows at Castaway Cay.

It seems like SUCH a daunting task, but I know people do it all the time so it must be fairly common.

I'm curious..
Is it better to go through a TA for this sort of event planning, or can I do it myself through Disney?

Do they give you any discounts if you're paying for 10 cabins' worth of cruisers?:scared1: ?

There are so many experienced Disney cruisers here that I thought perhaps someone would know...

Thanks in advance for you advice :hippie:

Erik, we had a good time walking through the aquarium at Atlantis. That was a DCL excursion with air conditioned transportation. $39/adult, and it's officially called "Discover Atlantis." Here

It depends... If you want to do the vow renewal ($$$) on Castaway Cay, you need to talk to DCL. If you want to try to do it at a port you're visiting (Let me remind you at this moment about Costa Maya), then you don't need to use DCL.
