I know!! :goodvibes Sure beats the 68 I started with!! I've made cruise purchases this week too! :woohoo:

Wow! 68 weeks!!!! That's a lot!

The National Weather Service canceled our tornado watch. It always makes me a bit nervous when one is issued!

How is your mom doing?

Thanks for asking, Amy. Mom isn't much different. They have put her on some new meds though, so hopefully that will make somewhat of a change. The doctor is spectulating that the generic version of what she was taking may not have been working as well as the brand name. Unfortuantely, her insurance won't pay for brand name if a generic is available. So he's selected a new med that doesn't have a generic form (yet). :)

Great to hear the tornado watch has been cancelled and cancelled early. That's positive news!

Darn medicine! I hope this works for her and fast so that in 17 weeks she's be at 100%!

I can't believe it's finally getting close!!! I was checking my paperwork (since it's feels like I booked this a lifetime ago) and it's dated (from DCL) on 5/16/07 so I'm 54 weeks down and 17 to go!!!!!!:cool1:

Yea!!!! :goodvibes

Well if that's 71 weeks, then I had more than 68! My booking date was 4/29, but I know there are several here who have waited longer than both of us!

Jeff, I remember reading about they guy that had the www..portillas.com site as well. That very well may be another good option if we need it and if we can locate him.

I found him! His name is Cliff. I asked him a few questions via email & here's part of his response about being a contact for school supplies:

I’m most always ready to help the indigenous folks here any way I can. But I’m not certain at this time if I won’t be in Italy then – I’m scheduled to become a grandfather about then. As it nears the time you’re planning to leave, e-mail me again at this address and check my status. Somehow I’ll do my best to help you. I had planned to go there in June, but I jut had an accident here and broke my ankle. So, one of the last things I want to do is travel while I’m all gimped up.

I hope you enjoy your cruise and from hat I’ve heard you just might get to be one of the first cruises to the Grand Costa Maya and see the new Malecón. It’s all different now.

So, hopefully he will help us out or point us to someone who can pick things up & get them delivered to those who need them.

Interesting coment he had about how things have changed......

It was $82 a nite but I just saw it went up to $83 a night LOL

Drea:

Thanks for the specs. I tried several times to get the same things to come up w/just booking the 26th w/no luck. Looks like it only comes up for a 2 night stay. NP as we probably were going to do this anyway....just have to make sure to push through to make it all the way Thursday evening as we're driving from NC.

OMG, I just read that the Magic carries Krispy Kreme Donuts! :woohoo:
Where we live, there is no KK nearby, so this is exciting for me.............sad, I know :rolleyes1

LOL!! I grew up on 'Hot Now' sign at KK. We lived about 45 min or so from the original KK in Winston-Salem, NC. There is at least one store here in the Raleigh area. Makes me drool every time we drive by & see that darn sign lit. Nothing quite like a hot glazed from KK! :lovestruc

Just wanted to share some photos from our trip, we got back yesterday.
Also did the Richard Petty Ride Along...

Love the Ride Along pic! Did you really get to ride in a mock-up of Kyle Busch's car? I'm not a huge KB fan, but I think I could suck it up to do the ride. :rotfl2: I've always wanted to do this, but never have acted on it. Actually, I really want to work up to actually doing the 3 lap race. :moped: Unfortunately, that takes more time & $$ than we can cough up at the moment.

BTW, DD seems to be a speed demon like her mom. She's always wanting to go faster or to ride the fast rides.

ZIP-LINEs

What I gathered from my zip-line research (took forever--I have very slow dial-up) is this:

On Cozumel you zip line at Adventure Park. Only three lines from tower to tower. Very short rides.

There is a zip line excursion at Playa Del Carmen Zip Line Jungle Park. You take a ferry from Cozumel to the mainland, then drive/ride an ATV, drive/ride a Dune Buggy or ride in their truck for 30 minutes to the site. Once there, you zip line tower to tower starting with crossing a swinging bridge, snorkel and swim in a ceynote (sp)?? Then return the same way you got there, and take the ferry back to Cozumel. Zip-lining IS NOT the main attraction.

There is also another zip-line excursion on the mainland where you take the ferry to get there, then bicycle through the jungle to the zip-line site. 3/4 zip lines only from tower to tower.

On one excursion site, it stated you should not schedule their zip-line tour if you are on a cruise....not enough time.....can't remember the exact site right now.

The REAL zip-line excursion (actually zips you through the jungle for a good amount of time) is located 40 minutes from Cancun and we definitely do not have time to even think about going there.

So this is what I found......and I am now looking at other excursions.

Has anyone else researched this?

Morning all! We're dragging today...had a homeschool swim party last night with all our families, then came home & Jurassic Park 3 was on and Reese wanted to watch...so Jeff & I fell asleep watching it, I woke up at 12:15am to see it STILL on and Reese was AWAKE. Oh my. So I turned it off, Reese grumped because he couldn't see the rest of the movie, & now I have a grumpy 4 year old this morning. Go figure! So much for bed times....

Sounds like an afternoon nap is "on order" for today.

I seem to have lost the link to the ressie calendar....Does anyone happen to have the link?

Charlie:woohoo:

I have it but it's bookmarked on my desktop (I'm stealing.....ahem.....BORROWING hubby's laptop right now) but if no one else posts it by this afternoon I will send it to you ::yes::

I also have an excursion question, which I am going to post to my TR as well. For those who have been to Cozumel before, and either done either of the following excursions or knows anyone who has, I need some advice!

Lionel and I are trying to decide between the Eco Park and Snorkel (which is Punta Sur park, by way of an ATV which stops at a lighthouse and some ruins) and the Dune Buggy Beach and Snorkel Combo (which is a dune buggy ride through the hotel district of Cozumel and then a beach break which includes snorkeling).

Any suggestions? I am leaning toward Punta Sur and Lionel is leaning toward the Dune Buggies.

We are also trying to decide if the kayak tour at Castaway Cay is too scary....anyone ever done it? Keep in mind Lionel is not a fan of open water :rolleyes1

Happy Sunday!

Erica

Thanks for checking into this for me.........
I never did any of those excusions in Cosumel....Wanted to do the dune buggy this time but wife can't drive a 4 speed!!!!:moped:

this is from their website:
The tour begins daily at 10:30am and returns at about 3:30pm. We can modify the return time to ensure we get you back to your cruise ship port with time to spare. All drivers must have a valid drivers license and know how to drive a stick
