Good news :)

They did not see that her existing stint had any issues nor did they see any areas in her arteries have changed since she had the existing stint put in back in October.

Soooooooo.....that still doesn't answer why she's having chest pains, extremely tired, and out of breath. So, the doctor who performed the procedure said he's going to recommend to her heart doctor that she get put on a new medication that works on clearing up the small veins. I think it started with a "Z". So she'll go see him in 2 weeks and then they'll determine what the next plan of action will be. She's certain he'll be putting her on a strict diet, too.

So again, thanks for all your concerns and prayers and pixie dust!

Well, it good that they didn't see the problem they expected but no so good that she still does not feel well and you have no answer. I am guessing continued prayers may be in order here. Please keep us posted on how she is doing, we want her at 100% by the cruise. I believe she may be right on the diet thing. Lois

Hoping all with health problems are on the mend & finding the answers they need...it sure can be scary when you don't have answers...

We just got back from a trip to WDW for the past week. We met my dad & his girlfriend there & Reese loved showing Grandpa all his favorite rides. I think we drove them crazy with ten trips on Small World though :rotfl:

Here's hoping everyone has a great weekend.

Lois--your granddaughter is just precious!!!!

And can't wait to hear baby news about little Sarah !!

Have a good one everybody!

I knew I forgot something...

OK, let's see.

Me: I love traveling, reading, gardening, and hanging out with my hubby & kids. Oh, and reality TV. Which Jeff thinks is so mindless, but I could watch hours if I had the time!

Jeff: Die hard Chicago Bears fan, waits all year for football season to come back around. Also loves anything "techie" and love to play with gadgets.

Reese: Loves music, playing the violin, watching SpongeBob, cooking with Mommy, & playing with his best friend next door (this came from the horse's mouth)

Fun question!!

Kim, that's great news! Glad to hear it. :thumbsup2

So, what's the only thing better than getting up at 5 am to go through THREE Disney parks in one day? Getting up at 5 am and running through them! Yes, because I am crazy I am running the Minnie Marathon 15K (just over 9 miles) tomorrow. We are heading out shortly to Coronado Springs to relax until the morning. I'll post pics on Monday! Should be a hoot!

Kimberly, glad to hear that things are going better with moms. Keep us posted and I will keep you all in my thoughts.

Jen glad to see you are still around! :lovestruc

Erika... you go women, cant wait to hear all about it! How fun, just think of it as sprinting to be 1st in line for every ride there :):yay:

Question of the week... it was hobbies right? man its been a long one for me LOL

Me: Scrapbooking and photography... lately its just been taking pics and buying the scrapbooking stuff. I really need to get back into the habit

E: sleeping LOL shhhh I didnt say that!... he really doesnt have A Hobbie. He is dedicated to taking care of the cars, seriously he rubs them down every night with a cloth diaper. SERIOUSLY! He hates when he leaves cuz he knows I only wash them once a month... IF THAT!

P: loves to play video games, yet sadly hasnt been able to since the PS2 broke. The boys keep asking me buy them a new one or a Wii.. but I keep holding out... thats what Santa is for.:santa: He also is big into puzzles loves them. Im always getting new ones for him for every holiday/shopping spree we go on LOL

J: Loves his matchbox cars. Says he wants to collect every single one they make. I have asked him to wait until he moves out and gets his own home so that i dont end up stepping on them in the middle of the night anymore LOL

To everyone else, have a great day/week if I dont "see" you soon. Off to a going away party for a friend that is moving... life of the Marine Corps. Speaking of which E picked up another rank on the 1st, he is now an E8= Master Sergent. Seems so weird still LOL I say that though every time he picks up a new rank.... yet I have no problem with the pay increase :):cheer2:

Kim I am hope the new meds can help her.

Hobbies oh girl I have to many. Photography Scrapbooking, card making sewing, gymboree

We had some great family news my Brother just got engaged to his GF last night. Yeah!!!!

Good luck at the Minnie running event! We just left WDW yesterday to come home and I wish we had stayed long enough. I could have cheered you on!

Scrappingjen--congrats on the family engagement! Weddings are always fun (but don't ask Hubby about that...he wouldn't agree) :goodvibes

Anewmac--oh, the Hotwheels. I think Hubby & I have punctured the bottom of our feet more times than I can count with those darn things in the dark. Every couple weeks I tell myself "I really need to make him clean these up before bed nightly" but by the end of the day, I'm so pooped that I just say "whatever" and leave them. We now turn lights on in the living room whenever we come through in the dark!

Just popping in to say hi and update, and the first thing I see is that Kimberly had a horrible family health crisis! Prayers for your mom and glad to hear there's some good news.

We passed almost one week of deployment- but I spent most of it in the hospital with Alex who was so sick, the pediatrician had me take him to the ER Tuesday- they were concerned he might be having seizures and his affect was really poor. Turns out (after having to be transferred to one of the children's hospitals here) he has kidney stones! The doctor was concerned he might lose his right kidney, but after a few days of pumping him full of fluid doc was satisfied the stone wasn't going to obstruct anything vital. So now we're home (just got home this evening). The other kids spent nights with everyone (including our priest and his family, so I hope they were good), and the last husband heard was that Alex might lose his kidney. Poor guy. He has no access to email, but I left him a phone message.

I'll catch up as I can. I'm exhausted.

Julie

Julie - My gosh, I hope things work out for you and your family. Poor little Alex. Wishing you :grouphug:!

Erika - You go!!!!! Can't wait to see the pictures. My sister and her two children did the 5K in January and had such a great time!

Kim - glad to hear everything was still good with the splints. Hope they can identify the issue quickly so she can gather her strength back and be able to enjoy the trip.

Sheesh everyone! I quit lurking around for a while and it takes me over 6 pages to catch up!

Kimberly, Jen, Julie - My prayers go out for you and your family. I hope everyone feels better soon. :flower3:

The Marine family and others with family on deployments - May God bless you and keep you strong. Thanks for your service, too. :thanks:
I'm ex-Navy; my son chose the Marines. He turned 21 in Boot Camp and his 22nd birthday happens at 4 minutes after midnight tonight.

My favorite things to do include reading, playing with fabric, and traveling with family.
Right now I'm looking forward to my trip to Alaska! :sail:

Julie ....I hope your DS heals quickly... Can I ask why do they think he developed a Kidney stone?

Heather I so get the Hotwheels how old is your DS? Mine is 4 and its a Hot wheels world we only live in it amd why do those little things hurt so bad???:)

Julie ....I hope your DS heals quickly... Can I ask why do they think he developed a Kidney stone?

No idea yet. They're running studies on the urine they collected (24 hours worth, so think of an almost 4 year old, active boy attached to a catheter and and IV for 24+ hours). There is some chemical imbalance (forgot exactly what the nephrologist said) that occurs in much higher rates in Chinese people than other groups. Since we have no family history, we can't know what's in his background. They're really curious since they rarely see kids his age with kidney stones. So that means they "had to" run all sorts of chromosonal studies. My insurance company is going to kill me.

It's like I have the freakiest kids, bio and adopted.

You will continue to have my prayers until all are well and at home safe and sound including DH. I can't not imagine the amount of stress you must be under at this time. Being an X Navy wife I do know what it is like to have the father of your kids gone for months at a time. It can be very difficult and only becomes more difficult when there are illnesses or other crisis in the home. God Bless both you and DH. Lois

I have a active 4YO and I that has to be bad for both of you. I think they would have to sedate mine to get him to leave a IV in for 24 hrs. :goodvibes

Yeah I have freaky kid to. Not many kids need CAT scans for moiskito bites but my DS mimmics a MRSA infection. How to keep a boy away from bugs and not keep him in a bubble????? Move to Antratica?:rotfl:

Hang in there I hope they can figure it out. The poor little guy. I also feel sorry for DH worrying and being so far away from you.

Julie--Here I was feeling sorry for us dealing with bad colds and pneumonia, but it doesn't even come clsoe to what you and your little guy are going through. I sure hope he is feeling better and you have answers soon:hug:

Thank you all so much. We're home now, and he's back to normal- except that he has still has the stones. They might require more intervention.

Since they made him either go in a diaper (which made him cry piteously because he hated to do that), then had the catheter in for over 24 hours, he's "forgotten" how to pee in the toilet so we've had 3 accidents today.

Julie

Hello again everyone. Just dropping by to say thanks for the prayers and thoughts for my DD. They are much appreciated.

Jen: I am saying prayers for the safe arrival of your little one. I will be lurking to see a birth announcement.

Kim: Again, glad to hear that mom is doing better.

Julie: Hope Alex is feeling better and the stones disintergrate (if they can)

Everyone else: Stay healthy and enjoy the cruise!

I will lurk from time to time so that I can live vicariously though you all.

Lee Ann

Happy Monday everyone. The kids and I are about to drive to the seacoast where we are touring a nuclear power plant today. I am taking the kites along and hoping we can fly them at the beach while we are there (it's about 90 miles from here so we do not go that often). When I get back I look forward to reading lots of answers to the Question of the Week Now that we are into the last 150 days lets turn our thoughts to the ship. . .
Which of the 3 main dining rooms on the Magic do you like best? If you have only sailed the Wonder, Lumieres is similar to Tritons. If you haven't sailed yet, surely if you are so exctided about you upcomming trip that you participate on this thread you have seen brochures, the DVD, etc. so tell us your best guess;)

Me--Parrot Cay. I like the tropical feel
Dave--Lumieres because he likes the menu when it is the rotational one (escargot:scared: )
Marika--Animator's because she likes the show
Rio--a tie between Animators for the show and Lumieres becasue he likes the chance to dress up and it is a bit more formal
