WOW Kimberly. We in Michigan were suppose to get the same storm and about 11" of snow. We got lucky and it missed us completely. Other than just a few flakes, we didn't get a bit of snow. I wish I could be wrong at work and still keep my job the way weatherman can. Good luck.

It's still snowing! As of 2 p.m. EST Saturday, Port Columbus International Airport recorded 16 inches of snow in a 24 hour period, which is a record breaker. Just in the television viewing area, there were up to at least 13 counties that went into a Level 3 Snow Emergency today.

Here are a couple of pics. One is from my patio and the other just outside my front door. All this is NEW snow that wasn't around yesterday morning.

PS: I'm loving some of the new formatting options at PhotoBucket.

Wow, that's alot of snow in one day. I love the pictures Kimberly! Looks like a good day to have a cup of cocoa and watch a movie.:happytv:

Snow, snow & more snow!!!! As of right now I have over a foot of JUST snow. This doesn't include the blowing & drifting. I've had to snow blow my drive twice since this morning, thank God I have a garage for my car. I have a second job and today is only the second time in 14 yrs. I've called in due to the snow. The weather man says that several more inches will fall untill it's done about 3:00 A.M. ( or 4:00 A.M. with daylight savings time).

Buried in snow, Paul

Kimberly, I just had to share a picture from one of our blizzards in the December of 2006 (which had 12 straight all-weekend-long blizzards):
aap.sized.jpg

You know it's bad when a Jeep Wrangler is stuck in the street. And the snow was still falling when the picture was taken!!!

Oh, and I forgot... This was 4 days before Christmas 2006, and only the 2nd weekend blizzard. Most of the neighbor's decorations weren't found to be put away for a good 4 months--which is quite unusual for Denver. Usually it snows and the next day it is 70 degrees--not that year or this year! I think we'll finally pull free of the 8 year drought! Yay!

We have booked it already. We are set for 10/01/08 @ 11AM. This is the web site I used https://www.dolphindiscovery.com We did this for our 1st stop in Cozumel. This company has more than one location so be sure to book for Cozumel. They took my credit card and e-mailed me a confirmation. I can't wait, dolphins are such awesome creatures. Lois

Thank you so much! The Royal Swim looks wonderful. We did a dolphin encounter in Nassau a few years ago and enjoyed that. I think the swim would be even better. I just have to check to see what time everyone wants to go.

Snow pics: WOW :scared1:

I'd post pics of my patio, but y'all might get mad at me :rolleyes1 it's a "chilly" 52 degrees this evening in Central Florida.......to cold for the porch, but nice enough to keep the door open!

No snow in Chicago. Flurry or two. But still in 20s.
Went Ice Skating today to celebrate weather.

Wow what a lot of snow. Hope you all stay warm & safe.

I'm like Erica- I won't report our temps, let's just say the only sign of autumn is the cooler mornings. Of couse while you guys are complaining about the heat in July/August, we'll be complaining about the cold. No snow for us though.

Tania

Kimberly,

Beautiful snow pictures! I wish we would have had snow instead of the rain! My twin and I went to New York City today to see Legally Blonde the Musical and NYC isn't the best place to be in the rain!

However, we are going to be on tv! LOL! We were walking by the Time Square Welcome Center and this woman asked us if we wanted to be on TV. They were filling the 'public opinion' segments for "The People's Court" and we stood there and answered some questions. The shows are airing on April 23 and April 29! I'm wearing a pink shirt with a black leather jacket and my twin is wearing a green shirt with a yellow WDW jacket. We'll see what makes the final cut! :)

Hope everybody is having a good weekend! :)

Amazing pic, Brandie! That's one heck of a series of storms! It must have been amazing to watch.

No worries from me for those who want to appreciate their warmer, snow-free weather.

Oh yea. At this time of year, I much prefer to have one big snow storm than all that rain. Yuck!

Did you like Legally Blonde the Musical? I was seriously thinking about going the last time I went to NYC. I did end up watching the complete play when they had a special airing of it on MTV (I think it was that channel).

HOW EXCITING that you and your sister were randomly selected, and you're going to be on television!! Please remind me again when the time gets closer!!

Heres my attempt at posting pics of my kids in the snow. we got about 16" total.

DH made a iggloo for the kids oh and I even got in

Okay I am looking into flights. The direct flight back home on Sat does not leave until 8:00 pm. We are taking a shuttle to and from the port. How many hours will be stuck at the airport after disinbarking?

We will have all our luggage and my nlaws are NOT light packers. So it will be a TON of luggage.

Does anyone know of anything we can do at the airport to kill the time?

You can get a day rate at the Hyatt.

Not sure the cost.

Fatcat, you gave me some info. a while back on Nachi Cocom. We think this would be a great time and are thinking about booking.:cheer2: Do you (or any one else) think it is a bit early or is this a good time? We would hate for it to fill up. The port is going to be busy with cruise ships that day. This is our first Disney cruise and first time I have ever booked outside a cruise line. Love the cost savings. Has any one ever had a problem giving credit card info. to places like this?

Ken

MoCruisers.

Understand your concern.

Here is the process

You book thru island marketing.
They charge your credit card
A $12 usd/ adult,$7usd/child (12-17) and $5usd (4yrs-11)

(I used a card that I do not use much and did not plan to bring on cruise)

You then get an e-mail in about 24 hours.

You bring that printout with you to Nachi Cocom and pay balance in cash or travelers checks.

The e-mail states that you should e-mail island marketing as soon as possible if the ship does not port or if there is an unforseen illness on board preventing you from docking. The e-mail states that a no show will result in full charge to the credit card.

If you have a card that does virtual card numbers and/or set virtual limitations this is a great case to do it. I have done this method several times with charging and it has worked great.

One method my wife and I use is that we each bring a different credit card. That way if we have one of our cards is comprimised we cancel that one but we have another one in hand ready to go.
(Single point of failure plan)

We LOVED Legally Blonde the Musical! It was amazing! It is now one of my favorite shows. We were in the 6th row center and it was just amazing. It was like we were watching it on MTV. The best was the talk back with three of the cast members - the woman who plays Elle's Mom (I think her name was Gaelen Gilliland who is actually really young!), the woman who plays Paulette (Orfeh, who by the way has an AMAZING voice!) and of course, Elle Wood's herself, Laura Bell Bundy. They were so nice! It was amazing to actually talk to them in person. I would SO go back and see the show again. It's great!!!! :)

How's the show situation? It stopped raining here...but I wish we could have just one snow storm like you have had...we haven't had that much snow this year (at the most 4 inches at one time) and I really want one big snowfall...and spring is creeping nearer and nearer so my hopes are fading...sigh...my fingers are still crossed though!

Legally Blonde the Musical sounds like an awesome experience!! What a great engaging opportunity.

In the end, we had over 20" of snow, which broke the record 15" total from 1910! I believe I heard there were other record breakers as well. A plow came through overnight on Saturday, and the grounds people for our association also made it out to blow away snow from most sidewalks. A group of my neighbors and I all chipped in to help one another shovel our way out from the plow's pile, pushing one person's car out of the snow, and cleaning off all our cars left outside.

A 61 year old man about 15 miles from here collapsed in his driveway yesterday as he was shoveling snow and was pronounced dead. :sad1: Very sad. Yesterday the sun came out, which really helped melt any snow that was nearly down to the pavement. Late yesterday afternoon, school districts starting closing for today. It appears that all districts around Columbus are indded closed today. We are expecting another 1" today, but by Thurs, we're to be in the 50's, so it will all clear up soon.

I agree with you....I love one big snowfall and hate lots and lots of rain! I'm thrilled we got all the now, frankly. :)

Jen, I LOVE the iggloo picture!! Too cute! It brings back childhood memories for me, too. No doubt you have some awesome pictures there for a winter scrapbook page!

Thanks for you credit card tips...I am thinking of booking the dolphin royal swim and wondered about the same issues. BTW, what is virtual card #'s.

Glad you enjoyed the show. We were thinking of going to see Legally Blonde or Wicked this spring with a few friends...I will tell them Legally Blonde comes highly recommended. I agree with you about the rain :sad2: what a bummer it was...wish it were snow too.

Gotta agree with you there! How is grandma doing? Planning any cruise excursions yet?

We Just Booked our Airfare!!! Very excited!!! Didn't get the greatest prices on JetBlue, but if the fare goes down, we'll just have to use the credit for another DCL or WDW trip....gives me an excuse to keep planning.

Have a great afternoon everyone!!
