Well our TA for this cruise only just this morning bothered to email about the increased charge for fuel:confused: So, we were not even given the chance to pay it off and avoid it if we wanted (I missed the conversation on here until the next day). It's really not a big deal for us (we are always aware that port fees can change) and we probably would not have paid it off now anyway. But, it is just not the bset of cusotmer sevrice. This TA used to be awesome but we have had lots of little issues the past two trips. So, we have switched TAs but still have this one on the cruise (and the new one on our land portion for this trip--it will be so nice on the NEXT trip to have just one person). Anyway, I resisted the urge to email the TA back and let her know I have known about the price increase for a couple of days because I have well informed friends:rotfl2:

So all our midwesterners, please keep me informed of how the storm treats you so I knwo what to expect starting tonight! We had a couple of warm days this week and about half our snow melted, but it sounds like it may be replaced now. I sure hope it doesn't hit until AFTER Rio's dance class tonight. He hasn't ahd ballet in a month due to weather cancelllations and school vacation.

Jen, that is an adorable dress you are looking at for your little girl. She'll be so sweet:)

It is going to snow out here again?

Huh.

Darn Groundhog.

I actually live about 15 miles from where they filmed Groundhog's day.

Can someone recommend a good transportation company from MCO to the port....I've used Happy Limo before and did not care for them at all

charlie:woohoo:

We are getting nailed here in Ohio already they are now saying 8-12" before its done with. Guess I can get some stuff done around the house:rotf:rotfl: :rotfl:

For Friday night. We stayed there this past November and were very pleased. They have a great pool and you cant beat the free shuttle!

I have used

Happy Limo
Qui...cksilver
Tiffany Town Car

Happy Limo was great for 2 times.
Liked their vehicles. Liked their drivers.
Did not like how they handled a car seat situation.
We reserved car seats in town car.
They upgraded us to limo which does not need to have kids restrained apparently by law. No car seats in limo. I felt this should have been my choice and the driver stated that I call the office and I would be compensated. Had to catch flight so I took ride, but never received compensation. Was told by office I should have refused the service. Nice Customer Service for a repeat customer at the time.

Also last time I took them for airport to hotel they did not meet me in baggage. I called asking where driver was and they said because terminal I was coming in at I had to request it. Weird.

Qui...cksilver
Issue with their van. Would not start from garage. Thought service was good just did not like the van quality.

Tiffany Town Car
I am thinking of going back to them. Never had an issue with them.
The reason I had prior switched is that they clearly stated they could not guarantee two car seats. So nothing not formaly communicated.
But I am in a one booster 1 car seat scenario now so perhaps the parameters will change.

We had issues with Happy Limo as well. We have used Tiffany Towncar three times and had great experiences all 3 times (including one where our arrival time kept changing and even got moved to the next day--Thanksgiving, thanks to a snow storm).

I have family that lives in the city where it was filmed. Got regular comunication about what all the actors were doing. My Mom-in-law worked on the square. Man it is a small world. Lois

If you want to do the Royal Swim you will need to book that independently as it is not offered by DCL. Janet and I are doing that and have it booked for the two of us as well as my sister and my 3 nieces. We are really excited. I want to do a Mayan Ruine in Costa Maya but am not making any plans until I see what DCL offers and know for sure that the port will be ready to accept us. We did a submarine adventure on a past cruise and it was very interesting but will not compare to swimming with the dolphins. We are booked at 10 AM.

Lois: Mom wanted me to thank you for your reply. She is having some problems with her computer right now (I may have to take a trip over there and see if I can help). She is very excited about the Royal Swim.
Have you booked it already? Would you mind sharing who you booked with.

It's only raining here on Long Island, but it is cold. I don't think we are supposed to get any snow this weekend. Is it spring yet?

Right now, there's just five of us coming down for the cruise. Still waiting on sister to see if she can get vacation time. So I'm looking at hotels for 5, one adult, 4 kids, for pre-cruise. Our littlest is very small and we could get away with asking for a crib for him, though he'd never sleep in it.

Any suggestions? We'd prefer to be really close to the ship, and need a shuttle. And as dh will be deployed and we'll be living on significantly less than our normal income, price is a concern.

Thanks!

Hi Everyone,

Happy Friday!

Well, my husband finally gave in to me and let me book 3 nights at CR pre cruise.:woohoo:

Now DS can spend his 4th Birthday at the Magic Kingdom:earsboy:

Hoping I can make ADRs at Cinderella's Table for the night of this birthday. :cake: If I tell them it his birthday when I make the reservation, does anyone know if they will do anything special for him? i.e. birthday cake or maybe let us stay in the Cinderella Suite that night (ok, maybe that pushing it a little)

I'm so excited but I can't believe I have to wait another 6 months. Come on September!

Cheryl

:sunny: First of all, don't forget that for most in the USA, this weekend starts Daylight Savings Time. Isn't that suppose to be a sign of Spring???

Cheryl, congrats on the battle win! :) That's going to be SO special for your DS to spend his B-Day in Magic Kingdom!! Good luck on the ADRs at Cinderella's Table!

jjgarv, great to hear you'll be staying where we will be!! I would imagine you guys are getting the snow now, right?

For those of you in the winter storm's way....

The snow started here around 10:00 am. I pretty much went into a white-out for several hours with high winds. Some went out at lunch and said the roads were bad and they saw several accidents. I heard the airport closed down (that RARELY happens), and I'm sure it was attibuted to not only snow, but the high winds. Schools were letting out early and many people left work around 2:00.

One of my friends left at 2:00, and it took her two hours to get home on what's normally a 30-40 minute commute. I was stuck at work working on budgets and saving jobs, so I didn't get out until 6:30. Frankly, that worked out in my favor because the snow had a short break and most people were already home. So I got home only 10 minutes later than I normally would have by going 30-35 mph on the freeway.

The snow has started back up again, and the white stuff is expected to continue through all of tomorrow and possibly some on Sunday. Tonight winds may get up to 35 mph. I heard on the radio that we will likely have blizzard conditions again tomorrow, too, with 8" - 12" of snow and gusts up to 40 mph!!. :cold: So LOOK OUT EAST COAST! I guess for once the forecast wasn't exaggerated and in fact under sold!

Well as Jen mentioned, I guess things around the house will get done! I have a girls' weekend in Amish country next weekend (Berlin, Ohio). We're scrapbooking Friday-Sunday and getting an authentic Amish dinner Friday night!! :woohoo: YUMMM!!! It will be one big slumber party for something like 20 people. So I have a LOT of page layout planning to do so I have less crap to take with me!

It is going to snow out here again?

Huh.

Darn Groundhog.

:lmao: :lmao:

Be safe and warm everyone!

We have booked it already. We are set for 10/01/08 @ 11AM. This is the web site I used https://www.dolphindiscovery.com We did this for our 1st stop in Cozumel. This company has more than one location so be sure to book for Cozumel. They took my credit card and e-mailed me a confirmation. I can't wait, dolphins are such awesome creatures. Lois

We have heard all week on the weather abour the nor'easter we would haev this weekend. The prediction was it was start as freezing rain Friday night and either remain as rain or turn to snow (we are right on that iffy border) and keep going strong all thorugh today and into Sunday morning. Well, we started off with rain last night, but this morning I have awakened to clear skies and sunshine!:woohoo: GO SPRING!!! This is particularly good as we have to drive to Manchester today and I was worried about doing so in the storm.

We're officially at 9" of snow now! The weatherman just said another 4"-6" are expected today. Our county is under a Level 2 Snow Emergency. There are six counties at a Level 3 and reported to be increased! For those of you who don't see snow, here's what that all means:

Level 2 Snow Emergency: Roadways are hazardous with blowing and drifting snow. Only those who believe it is necessary to drive should be out on the roadways. Contact your employer to see if you should report to work.

Level 3 Snow Emergency: All roadways are closed to non-emergency personnel. Those traveling on the roadways may be subject to arrest.

I have to say that it's absolutely beautiful out there, and we haven't had this much snow fall in one storm in a longgg time. It's great to be snuggled at home watching it fall!

Even so............I still can't resist saying

Oh My Goodness! Stay safe and IN today Kimberly (and thanks for keeping all that snow to yourself this time around!).

HURRAY for the 29 weeks. I was just planing my ADRS (which I can book next week) for our week at the world precruise. It feels so much more real at that point:)
