Am I the ONLY one on the ship that buys EVERYTHING new to pack? I buy new socks, new underware, new pantyhose, new pajamas, new shoes... The only thing I pack that has been worn before are my dresses and those are Cruise Only dresses.. I have them in the closet away from all the rest of my stuff..

I buy a bunch of new stuff too. I make sure everyone has enough underwear for 10 days worth, and socks etc. I bought a few new shirts with dinners in mind.

DH loved the idea of throwing out old undies and tshirts. go figure.

We take our own beach toys and just leave them on CC.

I also usually take my vacation timeframe to update my undies!!! I always buy new undies and some socks. Sometimes a few new clothes but often I hold off on that so that I can use the $$$ to pick up something I may like on the cruise (or vacation). Last time I was on the cruise I got a DCL light work-out jacket for $25!

Please don't tell my Hubby you are doing that...he'll attempt to wear his Saints crocs with his if you do. I"m having enough trouble convencing him that he should wear a tux (either bring his or rent one). He keeps saying that tux do not equal vacation clothing.

I have a black suit

On formal nite I wear a tux shirt and bow-tie and that stomach thing.
On semi formal nite I wear same suit with just a dress shirt


I am thinking of replacing shirts with hawaiian shirts this year though.


Also you can have your suit/shirt pressed for very cheap via room steward. Pressing is about half the price of dry cleaning.

It falls into my cheap or lazy analysis. Pay a little not to get stuck in laundry room trying to iron. (In this example I am being lazy)

Just a few questions, Do I need a tux for formal night or will a sports jacket work(with hawaiian shirt). We have not thought about excursions and plan to just get off ship and visit the town at GC. Will there be anything to see and do? How about at Cozumel, can you get off ship and visit a market (without being harassed by locals)? The only other country we have visited is Canada, so not sure what to expect.

Very funny about the underwear. Good way to clean out the old.

You do not need a sport jacket or tux. You will see many on board with them, but I have noticed the evening attire is getting more casual.
dh is only taking a shirt/tie, he is tired of packing a suit ( and it will keep the weight down on our bags.)

if you want a nice formal picture, I would pack the suit etc.
We are more into the fun pictures at this point.

You have a better chance of not being bothered by the natives on GC, rather than Cozumel. I think it Cozumel you walk through a huge duty free building. (and then you enter a market place.)

Sure glad this is a family cruise, not sure what other things would be learned otherwise. DH was highly amused by my attempt to summarize things on this one for him.

The mental image of stewards comparing how many pairs were left in various cabins & of stewards chasing down cruisers who 'left' things behind had me You guys are too funny!

One thing any folks going 'commando' may want to keep in mind, especially on Pirate night. I've read things can get windy on deck........if you happen to be wearing a skirt as part of your costume........well, just use your imagination to put together the elements involved: windy + skirt + 'commando' =

I don't know........I have a tendency to get really cold easily.

Lovely.......now DH is suggesting to have t-shirts made w/slogan 'Go Commando' or t-shirts just saying 'briefs', 'boxers', 'commando' - whichever is appropriate for the given situation. I don't think I should have let him read the undie postings. (he has a strange sense of humor sometimes, but I love him anyway )
