I learned something new this morning. Major Airports have a lanyard, bracket, or pin for those with hidden disabilities. It is designed to alert TSA and airport staff that you may need more time or assistance in navigating the security lines or the airport.
For my DD, the security process is the most anxiety producing. “Hurry” isn’t in her vocabulary and when rushed she will go slower. We have had people get frustrated and go around her almost knocking her down. Once we get through security she has to find a quiet corner to regroup. I asked her about the Sunflower Program this morning and she got all excited.
I was amazed at what the SLC airport has for those individuals who are neurodivergent or have other hidden disabilities. I would check your local airport to see what they have available.
