I really thought I did a good job checking my receipts before I sign them. well, mostly I do. apparently I don't always really pay attention. went to honeybaked ham yesterday to pick up a small ham, guy said it was $33, I gave him my amex, signed the slip, then took off.

today I was going thru my purse and getting ready to throw out some receipts and such when I happened to glance at my receipt for the ham...he charged me $71!!!!! I was stunned. called and had to drive back to the store with my ham in order to get credited the difference. definitely a wakeup call for me to be more vigilant.

just wanted to give everyone a heads up in case anyone else gets sloppy like me sometimes.

Excellent reminder especially since hardly anyone writes checks anymore.

I know you're gonna enjoy that ham. :goodvibes

That's a huge difference! Good catch! Thanks for the reminder. :)

I've caught it before and still forget to check everytime. Thanks for the reminder!

Yeah, but can you warm it up in a crock pot?

:confused3

I always DC my receipts. It is amazing what you are charged for items that are listed as something else . Sometimes I wonder if some stores do it on purpose knowing good and well we are less likely to return it or come back for our money:headache:. It gets to be a pain and they are not refunding me any gas money either from having to come back. I'm going to start charging them a fee every time I have to go back and get something corrected:rolleyes1

Great catch though, seems like you were buying his ham for dinner too:rotfl:

;):lmao:

I caught a MUCH smaller mistake at grocery yesterday-a big case of yams on sale-grabbed a few-and they rang up on the old price-I guess the cashier was aggrivated with me-but that is a pet peeve-if you have a sale-fix your registers.
