First, before anyone gets upset I'm not planning on keeping my double booked ADRs!:duck: However, in my planning(for December) I have a few ADRs double booked until I decide for sure which ones to keep. I just read on another thread that Disney will sometimes cancel ADRs if they notice the double booking. Does anyone know how often they do this, or how close to your travel times? I should have things finalized in a week or so, but now I'm scared they are going to cancel things on me! Help!!:scared1:

I don't know when they cancel them, but your double bookings may keep someone from getting just one reservation. I know when I was changing some around the CM did make sure the duplicates were removed so someone else might have one.

Last October I had been trying to get 1900 PF after I heard that the character lineup had changed. I had Chef Mickey's in place at the time I was finally able to make an ADR. I gave my own phone number and name, not my DD's whose name was on the rest of the ADR's and in whose name our resort reservation was made. The CM refused to let me make the ADR until I canceled CM. I explained that I was unable to reach my DD and would cancel as soon as I confirmed the new meal time with her. No deal. I canceled CM and made 1900 PF but still have no idea how she knew. Not even the meal time was the same, which was why I wanted to double check with my DD.

I am not a fan of double ADR's and this is the first time I had even attempted this, with the intention of calling back within 30 minutes to cancel one. It is difficult to plan vacations with meals in mind especially the favorites around busy times. If a lot of people double booked there would be a lot of disappointed families. I really understood why the CM stood her ground, that forced me to make a decision and go with that.

I think they are all linked by your phone number. When I was finally able to get all my reservations straight, I had many changes trying to get times/restaruants we wanted, the CM and I went down my list. They are all linked.

Thanks everyone-
I just got off the phone and cancelled the ADRs I didn't want. Does anyone ever call to just ask what Disney has listed for them? I don't want to be annoying but now I'm worried that ADRs I didn't want cancelled got cancelled!

I call at least once to confirm my ADR's. I also keep a sheet with the confirmation numbers and bring it with me so that in the event there are any issues I have something to back me up. I have never had any problems but I like to plan ahead.

No here's a ? i have for you all! I have 5:30 adr at Cape May cafe...and then an 830 adr for dessert at Sci FI (dh wants to experience it, but i said I am NOT giving up a really good rest. for sci fi, food is ehhh at best!)

So anyway, will they cancel my late ADR? I didn't know with free dining if Sci Fi would be booked! HELP!

I have never double booked ADR's in my life, until this upcoming December trip. I have done it without doing anything outside of the normal boundries of Disney Dining's policies. I have a resort ID # and a phone number. My MIL has a resort ID # and a different phone number.

I have quite a few extra ADR's piled up for our 9 night stay in December. In fact, I have :duck: 23 ADR's. I am having to work around some pretty big problems in regards to my MIL's health and dietary needs, so I am trying to do what I can to make sure that her sugar stays stable and her sodium doesn't end up so high that she ends up in the ER at the end of our vacation, which is a very real possibility no matter how hard I plan. :(

I will most likely be ready to cancel at least half, if not more of those after I get the CP Dinner Packages booked tomorrow morning and can then sit down with Corey to hash out what sounds right for our trip. Corey won't be home until Thursday, so I probably will cancel a bunch of stuff Saturday morning. The next stop is of course the DIS to let you know what's newly available for a party of 3. I see quite a few R&C and Biergarten cancellations as well as a few other nifty spots.

Don't hate me. I swear, if you had to worry about all of the things I am trying to juggle with this vacation, you would totally understand.

[Flame retardant undies on!]

I really cannot say anything to you . In the end you need to do what is best for your family. It is easy for someone to say what they would do but until I am in your shoes I really have no idea. I hope that your MIL's health is okay during your vacation. I know that for those in sensitive heath every change can compromise them.

Thanks for being so sweet. I hope that my MIL is going to be ok too. Her health is so bad. She has CHF, COPD, diabetes, and is in the beginning stages of renal failure. Corey is such a mama's girl, I don't even want to think about how bad things are going to be when her mama is gone. This trip is all about helping them to have some time together to bond and share some joy. WDW is the perfect place for that. We usually take much shorter trips, but because of all of the health issues, we know that this trip is going to be very slow paced, even with MIL on a :moped: Since she loves Epcot, we have 3 days there. We are going to try to work in all of the Santas and Storytellers at her request. She doesn't know if she wants to do CP, but Corey and I know that she is going to love it.

Basically, I have planned my behind off to make all sorts of plans and back up plans. I just want them to have a good time. While I am the planner, this trip is not for me at all. I would do much more with the time, if it was just me and Corey. But, the time that Corey and her mom will have, it's priceless. I can't fuss about all of the planning headaches, because I would do anything to make Corey happy. Making Corey's mom happy, well, that makes Corey very happy.

Be careful of dessert ressies. I did that and they cancelled my dinner PS without warning!!!!!!! My dessert ressie was very late so as to not interfere with others making a dining ressie. If I had to choose I obviousy would prefer to have my dinner reservation LOL. It wasn't fuuny at the time though:(

I've called just to see what I had ADR's for before. I had everything saved on my computer, but when it crashed I didn't remember times for reservation numbers. ( I know bad me for not having hard copies) They were really nice and gave me the info without any issues

1) Whenever they see a double book, they cancel them.
2) Regardless of how long before the date.
3) Only greedy and/or selfish people double book ADR's.
