Does anyone know if being an employee, the company discount extends to the Disney weddings?
I would think it would be excluded? Worth it to get a job there if so...:rolleyes1

I doubt that you would get a discount through DFTW for anything. I would assume it's excluded as well.

I never heard of anything like that when I worked there. You would get discounts that could probably help in other ways. For example, if you were having an Escape wedding and decided to book a "reception dinner" you could use your dining discount. But you would also have to be cautious, our dining discounts were suspended at times (i.e. free ddp for guests.) So, I guess it would all depend.

I wouldn't recommend getting a job at Disney for disounts on your wedding. But I think it would be a great way to raise a little extra money and play in the parks when ever you want!

actually you do!
you must be full- time and i think for atleast a year or something. i might be wronge.

if it is mon-thursday you get on food, decor, floral, coach, photo, video, locations and maybe something else

if it is fri, sat, sun only decor, coach, floral, locations. It is not much but it helps!!

DH was a cast member at the time of our wedding. We didn't save anything on the DFTW itself (only custom weddings get a discount, not intimate). However, we did save on our hotel room (50%), my brother's room (40%), the tours we did (anywhere from 15% to 50%) and dining (usually around 20%).

On the other hand, getting a seasonal position isn't as easy as it once was. DH had to work two days a week for eight weeks straight before he was allowed to drop down to one day a week or less. So if you have a full time, 5 day a week job, you'd be working 7 days a week for eight weeks. I didn't think I'd be able to handle it but at the time DH was only part-time at his regular job so it worked out for him.

HTH!
