According to the Disney web site, The Santa Clause III opens November 3rd. It should be available to see on our cruise. The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D opens on October 20th. I don't know if they can do that or not.

I heard that they will be doing a Character Breakfast on our cruise. Have you heard anything?

Boy RRB you sure are giving us many great tips.

Thanks for sharing.

I have heard nothing but would love to know if there is any truth to it. I thought character breakfasts are only on 7 night cruises? Is this becasue of thanksgiving?

Unfortunately, the 3 and 4 night cruises do not offer the character breakfast nor will our Thanksgiving cruise. There will be however, plenty of character greetings during the cruise and since it is past November 18th, the character's will be dressed in holliday attire.

Here's another tip for the Thanksgiving cruisers; you can get your custom photo holliday cards with you and family while on board. The holliday cards can be made from any photos you wish such as the family in front of the huge Christmas tree in the atrium, the family posing with characters, the family posing in front of the ship (background), etc. Our family did this a couple of years ago and it worked out great. We brought santa hats with us on the cruise and posed in front of the tree. Shutters Photo Gallery will handle the whole thing for you.

Does everyone know that the Wonder will undergo a refurbishment in early October? There will be some nice improvements to the ship as well as the staterooms. Our Thanksgiving cruise will be extra nice.

Randy

From what I understand the Wonder will be getting the masive screen above the goofy pool for the "Dive in Movies" as well as an expansion of the spa area to included the same as the magic Spa Villas.

Getting very excited!

Yes, those things plus great new mattresses and sheets !!!!

Plus .......
Beginning in October, Disney Cruise Line is introducing H2O Plus Spa bath and shower products to all 877 accommodations on the Disney Magic® and the Disney Wonder. These high-end products, derived from marine botanicals, bring a piece of the ocean into every stateroom.
The upgrade of every family-friendly stateroom onboard both the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder also features new Sealy Posturepedic Premium Plush Euro-top mattresses, new pillows and Frette 300 thread-count, 100 percent Egyptian cotton linens. In addition, larger, more luxurious bath towels and bath sheets have been added to all stateroom bathrooms.

I have a question for you all. I went on the cruise tip and it suggested the amount below for our 4 day cruise for 5 of us.

My question is, do you think I should give more (I am sure my service will be great) If so, about ballpark how much. I really need some advice on this.

Any information would be great.

Thanks

Patricia

Staff person to tip Suggested tip, per person per day Suggested Total Tip
amount / Type

room server suggested tip per day per person 3.68 X 5 = $73.60
*** server suggested tip per day per person 2.68 X 5 = $53.60
head server suggested tip per day per person 0.93 x 5 = $18.60
stateroom host suggested tip per day per person 3.61X 5 = $72.20
dining manager no suggest tip

suggested tip per day per person x 5 = $218.00 Grand total for 5 people for 4 days

I usually use this link to get an idea:
http://cruisetip.tpkeller.com/
Check it out. I usually print it out and bring it with us.
I usually give a little more depends on each person. Once had a fantastic assistant server so I gave her more. The dinning room server was just okay so I gave her the recommended amount.(most of the time I round it up)but once I had a stateroom host that gave us a hard time about splitting the queen bed so I did not give her more maybe even less.

:confused3 Also Delta has now changed my flights 3 times. If anyone is flying Delta double check your flight times.

I have always thought that the suggested tip amounts were on the low side and have increased the amounts (by %15) especially if the individuals did a good job.

Check your flights with CO they have changed ours twice so far.

I think our ship is all booked up, no rooms are showing only GTY

according to the DCL web site reservations system, there are cat 4, 5, 9, 10 and 11 remaining

PURTYPAT1 said:
All of the rooms above are GTY

I went all the way to the "book" page of the resservations web site before stopping. How would they let you book the cruise if it is sold out?

They are not showing any room numbers only GTY. They are only showing 4 Cat rooms also with no room numbers. I would think the ship is pretty much sold out.

Hi All - just a couple of interesting items about our cruise if you don't already know about them ....

We visit Castaway Cay on day 2 (Thursday) instead of the last day of the cruise.

Nassau is day 3 three (Friday).

Pirates night is the third night (Nassau day). The ship leaves Nassau at 7:00 PM that night so they can do the firworks.

Day 4 is at sea.

Only 56 days to go!!!!!!!

I just noticed that a thread for the Thanksgiving cruise in 2007 has over 330 replies !!!!Where are our cruisers ??????

I am just wondering, being new, what do these people have to talk so much about. I can't wait to go but I am not sure what else to write. Halp this thread by giving us some direction.

BML Mickey

I guess it's more the number of cruisers that write in more than what they actually talk about. So far, the 78 replies to this thread have been written by a total of 10 people. In the other threads, I would assume there is allot more cruisers writting in, therefore we get to know more cruisers before we go. It would be great to connect with a bunch of fellow cruisers you met on-line once you get on the ship.

Anyone second seating?

Well I have booked a suprise for my DB (by the way is that Darling _____ [fill in blank]) {bride}. As per recomendations from the passporter that I bought, I booked a couples cabana massage on the afternoon at Castaway. We had discussed ot before and had decided it was to much money and it wasn't worth it however I think that she will really enjoy it.

I have to tell you that being able to book our excursions, spa and Palo dinner at 105 days out is amazing, I will always do that if I am able thats for sure.

Nobody has talked about it but I would like to know if Pal Mickey has any use on board. I have him from my trip 2 years ago and haven't been back to use him yet. If someone could help me that would be great.

Getting excited!!! Only 52 days to go.
