Dorky Disney Cruisers, 11/22-26/06,Anyone else with us???

I just purchased wedding Mickey and Miney ears for my fiance and I to wear when we get to the boat. She is going to freak.

I just read a really great Trip Report, do DISers set a time and place for meeting on the boat or is it coincidence or what?

Here is another question...My fiance and I are not big drinkers but the real question is are there many loud, obnoxous (bad spelling), bumbling idots on the ship.. Eventhough it is a "family" atmosphere do you see many of these out of control personalities?

Also...a little bit about my group going with me.

Well, I know you did not ask, but I thought since we will all be seeing each other on the cruise, the least we could do was tell a little about ourselves like a couple of you have already done.

Let's hear from some others so we can tell our kids who they might be joining in the clubs and who the adults might be joining in the clubs after hours. party:

Great idea, I listed some background on our family on post 91. BML did also. Let's hear from some others!

That's great about the ears, wear them proudly. Who knows, you might run into another couple celebrating the same thing.

If we don't set up a meeting with our "threadlings" before we leave, we'll probably never get together. I'm in..... let's hear from everybody else - do we want to schedule a get together on board?

Lastly, in my 10 DLC cruises, I have never seen druken behavior as you described it. I'm sure it has occured but not when I've cruised. Don't get me wrong... There was plenty of partying (me included), just not to excess.

I would love to be involved in a meet. From what I understand...it is better to get together early on in teh cruise, so when we see each other on the ship we will know who we are speaking to.

Someone who has been on the ship should probably pick the time and the place.

You won't see any whales, maybe a dolphin if you’re lucky. There will be several greetings to meet Cinderella just check navigator and call the hotline. Get in line early so your daughter won't be disappointed. Here is a magical moment we had with Cinderella on our last cruise. On our last cruise it was my niece’s birthday. When we got in line to see the princesses I went ahead with a special Cinderella birthday pin I purchased ahead of time. I asked the cast member managing the line if it was possible that Cinderella give the pin to her when it was her turn to greet her. It worked out great. When we got to the front of the line - I pointed my niece out to the cast member she step ahead and discreetly handed the pin to Cinderella. Cinderella gave a big hug and gave her the pin. My niece has no idea that I set it up. It was truly a magical moment.
If they still have the little pirate and princess party that would be great for the little ones. Last time we had Captain Hook and Cinderella all to ourselves. They dance with the kids and it was early so the kids did not have to stay up late for it.

They have basketball on deck 10 but I don't think they have hockey,

Thanks for all the great advice (here and about Nassau). I know there are no whales but she thinks every fish bigger then 12 inches is a whale. :teeth: Typically when we have gone to WDW, we get the autograph books and let the characters sign one side and put a picture on the other, but I want the cruise to be special, and so the placemat is a great idea!!! I assume you put the pic in afterwards and just indicated the space for it for the characters to sign around it?
And where was the Captain Hook and Cinderella party, and who was it for?

Thanks....and by the way, JoRy are the first part of the names of both my boys, my name is Josh.

That's a good idea (meeting early in the cruise).... the second day is Castaway Cay so that day will be tough. If we wait until the third day, that will be too long. I'd say sometime the first day, consider -

boarding begins at 11:30 - 12:00
life boat drill at 3:45
sail away party is 4:15
dinner at 5:45 or 8:15

not much time there except after boarding and before the drill.

what do you think?

It is hard for me to answer completely since I have not been on one yet, but based on other threads that have the same idea, they uaually try around 2:45 or 3 for a quick hello, then try to find each other the rest of the trip whenever it works out. I think I read somewhere that there is a lounge that is available to meet in because it is not being used, but I am not sure what the name is. Let me know if you know what that might be. Then I think we put out an invite to all who might want to join us. I would probably be the only one from my group as it is hard to get kids to sit in a lounge when there is exploring to do, but then introductions from kid to kid can be made later.

Anyone else have an idea?

Last Nov, we had a meet 2:45 at the Mickey Pool, the only thing was nobody new who were were. Someone suggested, next time to wear Disney Board pin, or something that we can all identify, we will know who is who.

Just a thought.

I know that Wavebands is always used for dinning re-assignments and Palo ressies from 1:00 to 3:00. Cadillac and Diversions are probably empty.

I'd love to hear from some of our other cruisers on this subject.

Randy

I don't know how early everybody is planning on arriving. Also, some folks may need to make arrangements with Guest Services and make Palo ressies. Maybe we should meet at a certain location at the sail away party. Everybody is going to that for sure.

Randy

A quick note for everyone - according to the Navigator I just looked at, Capt Jack is on CC only for 2 short periods of time, 9:00 and 12:30, 1/2 hour each.

Randy;

Which navigator did you read, do you have a copy of the most recent navigator or is this from Castawayclub.com?

By the way I think that a sail away party meeting is a great idea although I am sure that my fiance and I will be down as close as we can get to the stage, just before might be a great idea. I'm in.

P.S. Just got confirmation on my hats and hopefully will be receiving them shortly.

Getting excited only 46 sleeps left.

There is a navigator online from the last 4 day wonder cruise before dry dock but a Iam not sure if it has the same info or not I can't tell really maybe take a look at that:

http://www.disneycruiser.info/w060108/w4day0.htm

the above link took me to a Navigator from January. Is there another link to a cruise in late September?

Still not right

not sure why it is not working...

If you go to Castawayclub.com and to the Navigators (Activity lists) at the top. You will find it for some reason I cannot get the link to work properly.
