Dorky Disney Cruisers, 11/22-26/06,Anyone else with us???

We have a late flight too, but we are doing the Space Center as we have a few people in our group who are spce freaks.

No docs for me today. Are they coming by mail or UPS? And does someone have to sign for them?

Space center is AWSOME! You'll enjoy it.

My Docs came 3 day UPS and didn't require a signature.

What docs should I be expecting? I've obviously paid in full, I thought I just print out what I need-Should I be getting something in the mail?

What would you reccomend for us at the Space Center? If you remember we have two girls with us, age 2, and 10 and 6 boys. Obviously we do not want to push the girls, but we want to do enough for the boys to really get the most out of it. we have about 3-4 hours to spend there.

I just did the Space Center in July. I bought tickets ahead of time for the up close tour. It was worth it because the shuttle was on the launch pad. It got as close as you could. (still about 2 miles away) On the regular tour you can barely see it. The shuttle should be on the launch pad when we get back it's next flight is set for early Dec.. My 7 year is a space nut. He loves going I think it was our 5th trip. My 5 year old got restless by the end of the tour. They loan you free strollers and he ended up in one at the end.

If you have filled out all the on-line DCL forms in advance (3 weeks prior to receiving the docs), you'll be getting a small package of documents including luggage tags, Bahamas forms, airport information and a couple of DCL "tickets" to bring to the terminal. If you did not fill out everything on line, you'll be getting all those things plus the complete DCL contract. If you filled out the on-line forms, you must print the On-Line Check In Signature Form and bring it with you to the terminal and sign them.

Hi Josh - its been a while since we went but I looked at the web site and saw there was 3 tours. I remember Space Center Tour and it was really good. I don't remember the other 2 but I'm sure they're excellent.

Hey Larry...sorry I did not welcome you sooner to the DDC (I like that).

So you are from Charlotte? I went to Davidson College and taught school for a few years at Latin. Small world.

Hey there JoRy! Sorry I am now just responding to your post. We live in Davidson!! It is a small world. I just finished a coffee from Summit and earlier tonight went to the Soda Shop! Hope to see you there! : :rotfl:

Shirts are done and will ship out on Friday. I am giving everyone a few days to make sure where they want them sent. If you gave me your home address, it should be Tuesday or Wednseday when they get to you...otherwise, they will be waiting in your stateroom.

Two weeks from right now...can you guess where you will be? I will be downing a cold beer...watching my kids in the pool, and loving life...oh and about to officially meet most of you guys!!!
:woohoo: :beach: :cool2: :drinking1 :sail:

Awesome !!!! :cool1: Are you going to post a pic of them or make us wait?

Boy, 2 weeks from now...... It seemed so far away when we first made the reservations. Now it's right around the corner.

Let's see...... 2 weeks from now.......3:00 PM on the day of departure....... if your having a beer, it will be with me (my treat) and we'll have to finish it in a few minutes to make the lifeboat drill. Then it's off to the DDC Inaugural Cruise Party on deck 9!!!:cheer2:

Let the 2 week countdown begin!

JoRy -Thanks for the update on the shirts. Thank you for all your hard work.
We will be on the ship before you know it.

Just bought my photo mat for the character's to sign. Starting to but all my stuff together for packing.
Can't wait!

Great news about the shirts!!! I am sooo excited!! I cant believe it is only 2 weeks away. I have had so much going on these past few weeks that it is has been hard for me to focus on the trip. I am just now starting to think about what we need to bring. I got the kids pirate costumes last week...I need to really get motivated!!!

Shelley – You can rent a car from Budget at the airport and drive to the Radisson. Then someone can return the car to Budget and walk back to the Radisson. It is about ½ of a mile or less. Then you can take the Radisson shuttle to the port when you are ready. When the ship comes back you can get the Budget shuttle back to their office and rent the car one way back to the airport. We have done this several times and it works out great. You can’t beat the price vs. a town car or limo.
Thanks...I will run this by dh..he is the one most easily stressed so if this works for him then it will be fine by me. Thanks for the tip!!

OK I have a couple of questions...

1) What is a character mat?
2) Is dropping off someting at Guest services the best way to get the autographs of all the characters on board?
3) Is everyone dressing up in pirate costumes for that night?

Thanks

I can respond to #3 - ABSOLUTELY!!! We have been working on our pirate costumes for weeks!

I'm really starting to get excited now! I've pulled out the suitcases and started deciding which clothes to pack. Only 12 more days until we leave for WDW and then DCL!

I can't wait!!!!!

So, if I just filled out the online forms today, am I okay? I'll bring the contract to the cruise terminal-Will I get my luggage tags then?

I purchased a plain 11 x 14 photo mat at the craft store. It has an opening for a 5x7 picture(this leaves more room for autographs) I then purchased a sticker that say "Disney Memories" or my new one that says "Disney vacation" I then drop the mat off with some sharpies in a bag with your stateroom number at guest services when I get on board. On the last night of the cruise after 10:00 you can pick it up from guest services. It will have a lot of autographs. Some people do pillowcases or T-shirts but they do not wash well. I did this one cruise and after one washing the signatures faded.
If you are short on time - I would be happy to pick up the mat and sticker if you are interested.
My kids usually wear pirate shirts and hats for pirate night.

You should be getting your luggage tags from Disney any day now before you leave.

I think I will make you wait. No...maybe I will post it next week once the others start getting theirs. I am sending all of the shirts for my group down to Shirley's gifts and she is including them in the gift baskets I got for the rest of my family. I figured if they did not know the shirts were from me they would be more likely to wear them (since they know how much of a Disney Dork I am).

Man..a beer on the deck watching the smiling/excited faces of everyone is going to be amazing. It is getting closer...
