Dorky Disboutiquing DiserSistas:Destination DisneyTeresajoys(true)version:TheEnd 1/23

Wow what a pretty view you have at your time share. I bet the Lake was a big selling point to your fisherman!! Now how come all the other girls had customs and poor Arminda had "regular" clothes. :sad2: Poor thing she just looks so deprived. ;) :lmao: How fun that you got to me meet Jord, Cindee, Morgan and Shel!! I'd have to say this was a pretty productive trip as far as putting faces with names!! I hope Casey got better. I do not remember getting sick like that when my friend was about to visit. ;) I bet she was sad to have spent the last 2 days of the trip on the couch! Yeah for the father daughter day for Courntey though! I bet that was really special for them!
So sorry to hear about the DVC tour what a jerk!! I am glad you told someone how you all were treated!!

I think our timeshare is beautiful, from the back anyway! The front looks like a motel, but that's ok, because that's not the part we see the most!

When we first toured our timeshare, they had us stay there for a few days, and Brian got to fish in the lake, and caught a big fish (maybe a bass?) So, it was pretty much over after that!

I KNOW!! What was I thinking with poor Arminda's outfit!! :confused3 tsk tsk tsk I hang my head in shame!

Yeah, that guy was a real jerk!

Great TR!
I am shocked at how rude your DVC CM was:scared1: :scared1: If I were you I would make a formal complaint about him! We toured the ones at BWV a few yrs ago and every one was so sweet! Then when we bought our dvc at Doorway To dreams we had no intentions of buying George was just humoring me with Disney stuff. Our CM and every one there was nicer then nice. I am still surprised the George was excited to do it. The CM there are still incredibly sweet even AFTER we have already became members. In fact they are having a big event there this weekend with Characters and a bunch of fun stuff. The last event was so much fun and once again everyone was so sweet. Don't let that idiot CM ruin your dream of a DVC one day.

Is your Time share the Vistana? I think that is what it is called. I can't remember what street it is on. We stayed at my SIL time share there(Vistana) last time we went.

Have you had Lydia's leg cramps looked at by her ped? Kyle gets them all the time. At 1st I thought he was being a drama queen which he can tend to be. Then after quit awhile of him complaining I decided I better take him seriously. Well his ped and my orthopedic dr whom I also had check hs legs, both said they think it is growing pains. Of course I still wonder if they are wrong but I trust them both so much I guess they are right.
Doorway to Dreams? Is that a resale for DVC? Sounds like they are really nice!

Our timeshare is Lifetime of Vacations at Grand Lake Resort, althouth I am thinking Vistana might be down the road. It sounds really familiar.

I just want to interject that Teresa and I went to the same high school, 5 years apart. This does NOT sound like my high school! The cheerleaders I went to school with would not lower themselves to speak to the likes of me! Not a single one of them was friendly! I wish I went to Miss Cammie's high school. But, I would have been a little old....

It's a shame how much that changed in 5 years, but I know you can verify that the cheerleaders in my class were very nice, Betsy, Leighann, the twins (you sold the house to one of them), all very nice and sweet.

The year you were a Freshman, my SIL Amy was a senior, right? That explains a lot! :rolleyes1 That class was just trouble!

I am still astonished by the DVC tour....first off, you are such sweet nice people...its not like you went in there and were rude. And, whether you are buying or potential buyers, I just can't believe the guy was so mean and nasty. And you didn't see a room or anything? Well, I would have gone balistic...how do you stay so calm? I am glad you at least got your passes, ice cream and book. Ha....so there....dumb guy.

Anyways, I am sure that didn't help the getting "lost" at the mall. It was sure great that you got to meet Cindy and Jord and have a nice time at Mickey D's. I sure hope poor Casey feels better  I was going to say it sounds like dehydration or something when Heather was mentioning it in her trippie. So did you take her to Urgent Care...I am a big proponent of that place....we have a wonderful UC near us and I love the doctor there :lovestruc He helped diagnose DD3 with pneumonia when her regular pediatrician was ignoring my pleas for help...dumb doctor. Perhaps he is the brother of the DVC guy  OK I am rambling now....sorry....Looking forward to seeing how you spend your next day now that you have a change in plans! :woohoo:
Nope, we didn't even get to see a room! I think we were all still in too much shock to make much of a fuss, and he really really made us feel like scum, so we were embarassed too.

Unfortunately, they didn't take her to urgent care, but they probably should have. (But, just so you all don't worry TOO much, she is ok now!)

Wow! I cannot get over how rude that cm was! I don't remember us taking a tour before buying but that was before it was so popular (or a best kept secret, lol).

Your family does seem to have trouble with the where and when to meet! Maybe you should make everyone repeat the plans out loud before separating. I hope you and Brian made up!

Megan loves the pictures of the girls at McDonalds! She is a bit embarrassed about the Megan. She said, I just learned to sit that way from Cinderella. It's not really the Megan. She loved the Tessa and the Lydia though.

She also liked the pictures of Courtney with the characters. Looked like they had fun (poor Casey)!

I see, you were one of the super secret Disney secret keepers!

Oh, me and Brian have little arguments and we always make up pretty quickly! The problem with this day was that I was aking him the plan as I was getting out of the van, not a good idea! He always comes to find me, so I guess that's why I thought he said that.
You guys sure have had your share of rude CM's this trip! We would love to buy DVC too (Ok so DD and I would love it - DH not so much) but it is a lot of money upfront plus the monthly fees. Now, I really want to know what was actually wrong with poor Casey - I hope you and Heather don't keep us in suspense much longer.
Yes, I think we had our share of rude CMs to last us a lifetime!

DVC is too expensive for us right now too, but someday it's a dream of ours.

Well, I didn't find out what was wrong with Casey until I was just about to get on the plane a WEEK later, when my Mom casually mentioned it! :scared1: But, I'll probably include that in my next installment so you guys don't have to worry as long as I did!
Don't you just LOVE Courtney's outfit! I wonder where she got that...

I LOVED your psycho time share guy warning!

That CM at the DVC has my BLOOD BOILING!!!!! How DARE he treat my family like that!! I was just talking to Mom on the phone and she said he was "BEYOND rude"! He made her and Dad feel really stupid for being there at all! You don't make my family feel stupid and hur their feelings. What's his name? I'll give him a piece of my mind!! They treated you like 2nd class citizens! Let me at 'em!!!

I honestly bought the first story where you apologized to Brian and got all kissy kissy. I have seen you do that before!

I'm sure the picture of your behind in the wedding pictures was more flattering than the pictures of the mother of the groom "shaking her groove thing" on the dance floor!

I love how you turned stuffing the Mr. Potato Head box into an epic adventure!

Your timeshare is GORGEOUS! I had never been there before this trip. So, I just pictured a boring little hotel like thing. Now I see why you want to go there every year!

I just realized that I have NO idea what you did the next day!! I can't wait to read your next installment!

I had meant to mention that you made Courtney that adorable outfit!!! I should edit to add that! She looked cute in it!

Glad you enjoyed my psycho timeshare guy warning! We've been listening to the Lemony Snicket books on CD, and I think some of that wore off on me!

Oh, that guy was horrible, horrible horrible! As you know, usually when someone is rude, I get upset, but like Mom said, this guy just made us feel stupid. He was so much more horrible than most any other timeshare guide I've ever met, but I think it was even worse, because we kept thinking, "BUT THIS IS DISNEY!!" I felt horrible, because I had told Dad that we weren't going to be treated rude at a Disney timeshare, and then we were treated worse than rude!

I do like our timeshare! Brian and I love to sit out on the back porch in the mornings and drink our coffee and just relax.

I'm not sure what you guys did the next day either! This will be fun to read!

1.)I just wanted to say, that you and I would have been best buddies!! Truth be told, I hated high school.

2.)here's the formula: :shamrock:+ = :furious:

Just so you know, I put that RUDE CM in his place!!!

3.)and cute pictures of Courtney and her papa!!!

YAY! can't wait for more!!!

 for you b/c that CM was such a JERK!
1.)I absolutely hated school from the first day of Kindergarten to the last day of High School, it was literally torture for me! I wish I had been home schooled, but people just didn't do that back then. Of course, had I done that, I would never have met my high school friend's older brother, gotten married and had three wonderful kids, so I guess things worked out for the best!

2.)Your formula has me crackying up!!!!

3.)Courtney and David had a nice day together. Courtney is definetely a Daddy's girl!

Nope DoorWay to Dreams is an off site sales locations for Disney here in Chicago. Right now it is the only one of its kind but I get the feeling at this weekends event they wil either finally announce that next to the Contemporary isn't tennis courts after all:lmao: Or they will announce that they are opening a new DWTD some where else.
It is a really fun place. They have rooms to tour of the AKLV which are STUNNING! They ahve a fun kids room which my kids always ask to go play in. Just to show you how nice these people are Nikki usually runs up to our CM who sold us out DVC and hugs her! :scared1: George and I joke it is because she helped convince Daddy to make sure she goes to WDW at least once a yrs:lmao:

OMG that CM at the DVC. I actually went on the tour about 5 years ago by myself while DS9 and DS7 and DH took a nap. I have to say I didn't get a cool book :(. I didn't even get a gift certificate. I think I got some kind of coupon for something free but never redeemed it, I don't remember why. Anyway someday I too wish for DVC but I have to wait until I have a paying job (SAHM right now). Some day my friend, some day.

Great pictures with Cindee, Shel and Morgan. She is a cutie pie. Sorry you and Brian had issues with the Disney Outlet and Bass Pro shop again.

You see I actually got to see him twice!! I I think this was 2001. My sister is sitting next to me the other ladies are her mother & sister in law. (Sorry about their faces Heather) We were "the Kids" on this trip! Also notice my hair outside of eeyores trailer yeah no one told me I had a little "mane" sticking up!  So glad someone told me so I could fix my hair!

I've been lurking just enjoying comparing the two versions of your trip (your's and Heather's). Anyway, I hate that your DVC tour was so horrible. My DH and I did a spur of the moment tour with no intention of buying in and we were treated wonderfully! So great in fact that after our guide went over the big book of resorts and points, explained everything in detail, showed us the SSR and AKL villas models, we started number crunching. He answered a zillion of our questions and he was so patient with us and very respectful. We are not impulse buyers so we really spent a long time there. We felt no pressure at all. A few hours later, literally, we left proud DVC owners! We even skipped the ice cream. Wish we had gotten the gift cards though--all we were offered were the fast passes--enough to lure us in. We did get those before we left (ha ha). I also got a nice big tote bag and the big box of all our info, maybe that is what you saw people with? You got the bag and info when you bought in. Anyway, sorry it was such a horrible experience for you. Like I said, our guide-Rob Shapiro- was great!! If you do it again I highly recommend him! Glad your trip was awesome and thanks for sharing your trip with us! BTW-i wish i had your sewing skills!!!!!

Ok watch the cheer comments!:cheer2: :cheer2: :rotfl: Nikki is a cheerleader and I am one of her coaches!!!:scared1: :lmao:

I'VE BEEN THERE!!!!!! We went to Chicago last September and we went to the Doorway to Dreams at the mall! I had actually tried talking Henry into going to Disney World, but I had to settle for Chicago. I got a little bit of Disney magic at Doorwary to Dreams!! The woman there was so incredibly sweet and gave the kids tons of stickers. She also let us tour the rooms, even though she knew we had no intention of buying (Henry told her he hated Disney World). It was SO cool to walk through the AKLV and go out on the "balcony" in the back and see the fake zebras and such! I didn't want to leave!

Ok watch the cheer comments!:cheer2: :cheer2: :rotfl: Nikki is a cheerleader and I am one of her coaches!!!:scared1: :lmao:
I was only talking about the snotty cheerleaders I went to school with! I am sure you and Nikki are sweeties!! Like Teresa said, the cheerleaders that went to school with her were really nice. I agree, they were!!

Those rooms sold George on WDW! It is sad when you actually get excited to go to an event there! Yeah I know I need a life:rotfl: They are great there! Love how they all walk around with Mickey ears on. Next time you are in Chicago you have to let me know I am about 45 minutes from that mall.

As for the cheer i was just busting your chops;) Nikki is a cheer leader and I am the coach but I totally get what you are saying about the cheerleaders. At Nikki's age they are just so stinking cute doing the cheers! I will have to post a picture of her in her uniform.

I am so sorry that the DVC guy was such a jerk!!! I don't think I could have handled myself as well as you did!!! The Dismeet looked like tons of fun!! Your timeshare looks great, very relaxing!!

Oh, Heather went there!!! (As I see she posted!) I would love to go there! My SIL lives in Naperville, we need to go visit her and take a tour! And, go to the American Girl Doll store, and do some shopping, and meet a Diser.....

Wow...remind me not to go on the DVC tour!!!
I hope we got the one dud in the bunch! I've never heard of ANYONE else have a horrible experience there! Leave it to us!

Ah, we fight, we make up, it's life! I needed to explain how it was his fault that we were late though! :rotfl2:

Bummer on not getting a gift certificate! That's the only thing that made the whole experience somewhat bearable! I mean, even the ice cream parlor CMs were rude!

I seriously doubt I will EVER be able to talk Brian into doing another tour of DVC, but I have jotted down the name of your CM, just in case! Of course, we were told that we could NEVER tour again! Like we EVEN got a TOUR! GRRRRR it's making me angry all over again! I need to find the book, it has our CMs business card in it. I'm almost sure it was Jerry something...

I remember how excited you were about going there! I want to go now! I'd love to actually see some rooms!

Thank you for validating my opinon of the cheerleaders I went to school with! I guess we got some unusually nice ones! They were STILL nice at our 20 year reunion last year! AND the erally annoying part is that they ALL still looked great!!! Come on, couldn't ONE of them gotten fat??? Is that too much to ask??? :confused3 :rotfl:

We were too stunned to do or say much of anything! It was one of the most humiliating things!

Come plan a trip! WE could meet at DWTD! When we stopped tere before the event so I could go potty George looked at the rooms again and was stuned all over how great they are. I get this strange feeling that when we add a bathroom it might look alot like the DVC master bath!:lmao:

I wouldn't have been able to restrain myself if somebody treated me like that DVC jerk treated you. How sad! Did the kids know what was going on? I could see why you wouldn't want to make a scene in front of them. Your a good and patient mom!!;)

Since Corey was with us, he knew what was going on. Arminda noticed that the CM was really rude to us, because he came with us to get the kids
(I think to make sure we actually had two more people with us!). It upset Corey quite a bit since he was there. But, the girls were more excited about getting some ice cream!

Ok, I have my next installment all wrote up. It's just a short little one though! Barely any pictures at all! :scared1:

Sunday, May 11

We were settling into our timeshare, and David, Barbara and the girls were leaving for home.

1.gif

Already.

Seems like the week went by SO fast!

2.gif

I was still pretty worried about Casey. Mom said she didn't look too good when they left, but not completely miserable as she had been. When David and Barbara got home that night, Casey was pretty bad, so they took her to the emergency room. They did some testing, and Barbara thought they told her she had a urinary staph infection, and put her on antibiotics. (I didn't hear about this until the next week when we were coming home.) She then went to the pediatrician, I think that was Wednesday. When we got home, I called the pediatricians office. She had seen Nyla, a most WONDERFUL Pediatric Physician's Assistant. She's just like a pediatrician, but nicer! I went to school with her husband, and they bought Heather's "castle house" as Arminda always referred to it. I usually try to go with Barbara to the girls appointments, because Barbara is partially deaf, and has a hard time understanding what the doctors (or Nyla) say. So, I am on the girls' records as someone that the nurses and doctors can talk to. When I called, I found out that Casey had a REALLY bad urinary tract infection. They told me to make sure that Casey stayed on the antibitotics for the full 10 days, and if she got another fever or started having pain again, to bring her right back in. So, I called Barbara, so she knew what was going on, and told her to make sure Casey took her medecine, even if she didn't want to. I also talked to Casey and told her how important it was that she take her medecine. Casey had still been rather sick the week they got back, so she missed the week of school. She was doing better by the time we got home though.

When Arminda was little, she had gotten sick like this. She would get a fever, then it would go away. She would act ok most of the day, and then at night she would get quite sick. That went on for a few days and I decided to take her to the doctor (this is Pre-Nyla at the pediatrician). I saw a student (this was some temporary thing they were doing at the pediatrician the year Arminda was born, I've never seen students in there again, thank goodness!), who told me that Arminda had a cold. I insisted that it was NOT a cold, and that something was definitely wrong with my baby (she was only 9 months old at the time!). Her doctor then came in and told me that I was right, that it was definitely not just a cold. She ran some tests, and found out it was a urinary tract infection. Since she was so young, they did all sorts of tests on her. At one point, they thought something was wrong with her kidneys, but when they did more testing (something with dye) everything came back normal.

Anyway, I usually think of this when I see someone with the symptoms like Casey had, but it just didn't click for some reason this time. So, I felt pretty guilty about not thinking of it. She might have been able to get some relief quicker had I been thinking. Thankfully, she is fine now, but every time she starts acting funny, we get worried!

So, back to our day.

Brian was going to church with Corey.

Arminda wasn't feeling real well, so she stayed with me along with Lydia. While Brian was gone, Arminda asked me to cut her hair. So, I got out my scissors and took off about 6 inches.

She looked adorable!

DSCF3289-1.JPG

I had thought her hair was looking a bit stringy the last week, and the haircut made her hair look much better! She really wanted it above her shoulders, but I left it just at her shoulders. Even Brian liked it when he got back.

We were suppose to go to the Gulf side with my Mom today to see her cousin. But, Mom couldn't get hold of her. So, that wasn't going to happen. Brian went fishing for awhile when he got back.

In 2006, shortly before we left for Florida, our sister-in-law (Brian's brother's wife) found out after years of searching that her Mother had died in 2002. She had a difficult relationship with her mother, and her mother just didnt' stay in touch. My SIL asked us to go find her gravesite and put flowers on it for her. So, we got the name of the cemeterly, Stage Stand Cemetery on 19, got a general idea of where her grave was from a very nice lady that worked at the funeral home nearby, and we set off to find it. It took about a half hour, since we really didn't know where it was, just a general idea. But, we did end up finding it, and tried to tidy it up a bit for our SIL. It was really a surreal experience to be closer to our SIL's Mom than she had been in 25 years. We put flowers down and pulled some of the weeds. The kids each picked out something to put on the grave. Then, we took pictures. And, we do it every year now. So, this was the day we decided to drive over.

It was a REALLY windy day! The van was blowing around from the strong winds. It was a little scary! On the drive over, we saw signs for Weeki Wachi, which reminded me of Tifani, from the Disboutiquers, (we were hoping to meet up with T. on this trip, but she had to have foot surgery and we missed out!)

and mermaids.

1.gif

I had really wanted to go to Weeki Wachee on this trip to see the mermaids, it was tempting to tell Brian to just drive there! On the way, the kids all fell asleep in the back. When we stopped for gas,
S6300452.JPG

Brian got me a Diet Coke and a candy bar.
5.gif

Yummy! We then just chatted as the kids slept.
12.gif

When we got to Homossasa, we stopped at the Dollar General and got some decorations and flowers for the grave. Lydia really wanted to buy a Pooh Pinwheel to put out there, so we let her.

DSCF3246.JPG

S6300503.JPG

It's always a sad thing to go out the cemetery. I always hope that her grave will have fresh flowers, or some sign that someone has been there since we were there the year before, but it never looks like anyone has been there. I wish I could do more to freshen it up, so that people know that this was someone's mother, (not a great mother, but a mother none the less) she was important to someone. Pam (my SIL)had had me leave a laminated note on the grave the year before. She was hoping that someone would stop at the grave who knew her, so she left a phone number and email address. My SIL really would like to know what had happened to her Mom in the 20+ years she was out of contact with her. The note was still there, but was so faded it was not readable. I hadn't thought to bring out another one though. I will have to do that next year. We put the flowers and decorations on the grave and I took some pictures for our SIL. If there is anyone that lives close to this cemetery, and would be willing to just tidy up the grave once in awhile, please let me know.

It was starting to get really stormy,

so we got in the van, and started to drive home. We had planned on eating somewhere on the way home, but we didn't see anything that we thought looked good. So, Brian suggested we stop at the pizza place that Henry had told him about. So, we drove there, and were disapointed to find out it was closed. So, we decided we would go to Giordanno's near our timeshare.

We ordered a stuffed pizza. We were told it would take 45 minutes. We were really hungry, so we decided to order mozerrela sticks for an appetizer. The waiter suggested that we get the sampler platter, which included Mozarella sticks, fried mushrooms, and fried zuccini. It took quite awhile for them to bring the appetizer out, and when they did, it had three mozarella sticks, a few mushrooms, and a ton of fried zuccini. I tried the zuccini, it was N A S T Y! ICK! Seriously! It was slimy and tasted horrible! We were not happy that there were so few mozarella sticks, since that is what we had originally ordered. The waitere agreed to bring us out some more mozarella sticks. About the same time he brought the mozarella sticks, our pizza came. BUT it was NOT the pizza we had ordered! It was just a regular pizza, not a stuffed crust. When we finally got our waiter's attention, we told him that it was the wrong pizza. He then told us that he would see what he could do for us. When he came back, he told us that he would give us the wrong pizza for 10% off. OOH, how very generous! It had already been well over 45minutes, and Brian and I were tired and hungry and so were the kids. So, we told the waiter to just bring out the check for the drinks and appetizer and we would just run to the store and get something. The waiter then again talked to the manager. The manager came back and told us that he would give us the wrong pizza for free, and give us half off the correct pizza. Plus, he would make sure it was done in 30 minutes. I really just wanted to leave, but we decided to stay. While we waited for our stuffed pizza, we went ahead and ate the first one.

While we were eating, I started feeling incredibly ill,

and had to go outside for some fresh air. While I sat oustide, feeling and looking horrible, a group of people came and stood next to me and started smoking!

Uggh, that didn't help me any! So, I decided to go back in, and our stuffed crust pizza arrived a few minutes later, 50 minutes after we had reordered it and had been promised it would only take 30. I was feeling sick, and I was mad! We had the waiter box up the pizza, and we took it home with us.

When we got back, I went right to sleep,

and Brian made sure the kids got to bed, then he went out back to go fishing.

It wasn't the most exciting day, but it was a pretty good day.

And, just for Anna, a teaser:

Next up!
Moon Over Epcot
and
What kind of monkey is THAT???!?!

That is so sad about your SIL. for her. It is so nice for you all to go there and tend to the grave site!
Bad customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves and if it happens when it is not a necessity I just say no thanks and leave! :snooty: I hate having to fight for my right to have the food I ordered or pay the price for something that the tag on the shelf says it is!! :sad2: :headache: I guess you won't be going back there anytime soon!
I have smokers in my family and whenever there is more than one person lighting up I always get a little ill! You know after one lights up pretty soon the whole bunch are all smoking :cough cough:  My eyes are really sensitive to the smoke too! Feels like their one fire!

And so glad Casey is OK!! UTIs are the worst kind of pain besides childbirth!! No Fun at ALL!!!
So what did you do the next day???
You're not even going to give us a clue?? :rotfl:

Nice update....so kind of you to go tend to the grave for your SIL. Do they not have "care" fee built into graves in other parts of the country? Here, part of the fee for the cemetary is for them to care for your site. My dad's grave site is always mowed, weeded, and on holidays they put his flag up (because he was a Veteran). We can put up additional flowers, etc and if we don't go back before the flowers die, the cemetary staff pick them up.

The test you are talking about was a VCUG. Kyle had that at 12 weeks. No fun I cried the whole time he just sucked his binky while George watched and just said OW!. My girlfriends 5 yr old is going for one next week I feel so bad for him.

Any way Glad casey is better!

That is so sweet of you to look after the grave for your sil. How sad she doesn't know what happened to her mother.

Also notice my hair outside of eeyores trailer yeah no one told me I had a little "mane" sticking up!  So glad someone told me so I could fix my hair!
LOVE the pictures with Eeyore. I think you are one of the ground-breaking fashionistas of the "faux-hawk"! However, I am freaked out by the swirly faced monsters with you!!! Really, I liked the hearts you used much better! ;)

Ok watch the cheer comments!:cheer2: :cheer2: :rotfl: Nikki is a cheerleader and I am one of her coaches!!!:scared1: :lmao:
Yeah, I'm off to look for that video on youtube now....:rotfl2:

I sure hope that's not what David and Barbara's airplane looked like!

Why do I find it funny that Corey brought a camera to church?

Is that an ALLIGATOR in the water!?!?

I'm all teary thinking about Pam's mother. You are such a good SIL to do that for her.

We thought about eating at that pizza place a few times. I'm glad we didn't now! Wow, 10% off the wrong pizza, after waiting all that time. Could they have BEEN any more stingy?
