"She's just like a pediatrician, but nicer! " :rotfl: :rotfl: That comment cracked me up. Its really hard to find good doctors these days. We have once pediatrician's office about 10 miles from us and the other is about 30 miles. I barely have any trust in them since they couldn't diagnose my DD properly. I end up using our local Urgent Care doctor who is excellent and just take them to the pediatrician for well visit. Seems they can only treat well children

In any case, I am so glad poor Casey got treated and is all better now. What did people do before antibiotics? Oh the suffering  . How sweet that you all went to tend to the grave and leave flowers. Sorry about the pizza fiasco. I hope you were feeling better after getting some rest!

I forgot to add in that I loved Arminda's haircut. I am too askeered to actually cut anything more than bangs on my children. You did a great job and I bet it is cooler and bouncy...fun for Disney! I can't wait for more!!!

Poor Casey. :( UTI's are heck.
I hope this doesn't offend anybody, but I'm highly amused that even the churches in that area have gift shops.
Armida's hair looks so cute!

Poor Casey! That church is really pretty! Arminda's haircut looks really cute! You are so sweet to put flowers on your SIL's mother's grave!:flower3: 10% off the WRONG pizza? :sad2: You were probably sick from the slimy zucchini :scared:

I was thinking the same thing about the alligator in the water :scared1: . I wish I lived near the cemetry because I would go for your SIL. That's nice that you guys do it once a year though. I'm surprised the groundkeepers don't weed it for you :confused3 Maybe your SIL could ask though it might cost her some money. Glad to hear Casey is feeling better.

You are so sweet to do that for your SIL:hug:

Sorry the pizza place was sooo bad. I can't believe you were charged anything with that kind of service!:headache:

Arminda's hair looks SO darling!! Is there ANYTHING you can't do?!

Okay so...every time I hear about people being ugly to y'all I have mental conversations with them. I say what I would have said had a manager acted like giving me 10% off the WRONG pizza was some kind of favor. What he should have done was give you both pizzas for free based on the horrendous customer service and the general grossness and stinginess of the appetizer on top of making y'all wait for SO long.

You probably got sick from the grease!

ick. people just slay me these days...and could that manager have been any more asinine with his "Well I'll give 10% off of this and half of that and a quarter of a clod of dirt we found on the ground along with an 1/8 of a rats tail..."

:rolleyes2

what a dope.:flower3:

So glad poor Casey is okay. UTI's are EVIL things. Poor baby. I so feel her pain!

can't wait for more!!!!!!

Like everyone else said - It is wonderful of you to take care of your SILs' mother's grave and drop off the flowers. I'll bet she appreciates it very much.

I'm glad about Casey's recovery and so sorry about your pizza fiasco. No one should ever get sick on their vacation. I never will forget when DH and I were on our Vegas honeymoon - I got a huge head cold 2 days into our 7 day trip. It was terrible. Of all the times to get a cold.

That was a good (?) update. Or should I say, kind of depressing, except for the cute haircut. And the stained glass windows were cool. And that Brian got to go fishing...but is that a gator???

Keep up the good work...and, as you can see from my siggie, I have an update ready on mine (shameless plug, shameless plug.)

:goodvibes

That is so sad about your SIL. for her. It is so nice for you all to go there and tend to the grave site!
Bad customer service is one of my biggest pet peeves and if it happens when it is not a necessity I just say no thanks and leave! :snooty: I hate having to fight for my right to have the food I ordered or pay the price for something that the tag on the shelf says it is!! I guess you won't be going back there anytime soon!
I have smokers in my family and whenever there is more than one person lighting up I always get a little ill! You know after one lights up pretty soon the whole bunch are all My eyes are really sensitive to the smoke too! Feels like their one fire!

And so glad Casey is OK!! UTIs are the worst kind of pain besides childbirth!! No Fun at ALL!!!
So what did you do the next day???
You're not even going to give us a clue??

I feel for you Anna! I hat cigarette smoke too! Brian and I won't even let the smokers in his family smoke on our property. It's hard when you go to a family funciton and everyone is puffing away.

Brian use to be a smoker, but he quite many years ago, thank goodness!

I've had two UTIs in my life, and that was about as sick and horrible feeling as I can ever remember being! It's just awful!

And, there was no teaser, because I couldn't remember off hand WHAT we did the next day!!! I'll have to check my "notes"!
Nice update....so kind of you to go tend to the grave for your SIL. Do they not have "care" fee built into graves in other parts of the country? Here, part of the fee for the cemetary is for them to care for your site. My dad's grave site is always mowed, weeded, and on holidays they put his flag up (because he was a Veteran). We can put up additional flowers, etc and if we don't go back before the flowers die, the cemetary staff pick them up.

This is how it was explained to me by the cemetery that took care of her mother's burial.
Her Mom is buried in a free cemetery, there's a name for it, but I can't think of what it is right now. I was really quite impressed with how nice it is though. They do a good job keeping the whole thing looking quite nice, but the individual graves don't get attention like at a regular cemetery. The first year we went out, her plot didn't look good at all, but we pulled quite a few weeds (although I am terrified of fire ants, so I was quite leary!) and it looks much better now.

Where my babies are buried, they take care of the dead flowers and old decorations, and we don't have to worry too much about making sure everything looks nice other than putting the flowers and decorations out there.

The test you are talking about was a VCUG. Kyle had that at 12 weeks. No fun I cried the whole time he just sucked his binky while George watched and just said OW!. My girlfriends 5 yr old is going for one next week I feel so bad for him.

Any way Glad casey is better!

That is so sweet of you to look after the grave for your sil. How sad she doesn't know what happened to her mother.
Thanks for putting a name with it for me! It was horrible to see my baby going through that! Then, they wouldn't let us leave until she peed again, which took her forever! Arminda was a little pin cushion when she was a baby. She was very small, so they classified her as "failure to thrive" and ran tons of tests on her. The result?? She's just little. I could see if she had been very sickly or slow, but other than the one UTI, she wasn't sick.

Lydia on the other hand, was my sickest baby, and she is huge! (at least for our family she's huge!)

I sure hope that's not what David and Barbara's airplane looked like!

Why do I find it funny that Corey brought a camera to church?

Is that an ALLIGATOR in the water!?!?

I'm all teary thinking about Pam's mother. You are such a good SIL to do that for her.

We thought about eating at that pizza place a few times. I'm glad we didn't now! Wow, 10% off the wrong pizza, after waiting all that time. Could they have BEEN any more stingy?

You like my airplane picture??? ;)

I should have shown more of the pictures Corey took inside the church, so you would see why he brought the camera. But, I didn't want to confuse anyone and have them think I actually went to church. Since it was Mother's Day, the church was literally FILLED with roses! Tons and tons of roses!!! It's just gorgeous!

I thought that looked like an alligator too, but I'm not sure!

Can you imagine anything happening to Mom, and not knowing????? I cry every time we go out there.

I still wish we would have just walked out of the pizza place! We could have picked up something at Publix!

We ADORE Nyla!!!! Truly, I did a happy dance the day she joined the practice!!! I told Heather all about how much we loved her, which is rare for me, because I don't like many doctors, and have never loved ANY pediatrician! We switched Corey's pediatrician when he was a month old, because at his second checkup, he asked when I was going to wean him!!! When I told him we were just going to nurse until one of us was ready to stop, he made fun of me and said, "What? Are you going to be like one of those women in Africa who are nursing a 5 year old? Children don't stop nursing on their own!" What a jerk! Corey weaned himself 2 weeks before he turned 2. And not that anyone cares, but Arminda was 2 years 4 months, and Lydia was almost 3. That doctor would have had a FIT if he knew I nursed an almost 3 year old! Although after she turend 2 1/2, it was quite sporadic.

Thank you, I thought Arminda looked adorable too! I just wish I had cut it before we left. I was afraid they wouldn't be able to do BBB with it shorter, but I shouldn't have worried. I'm sure this would have stayed in just as well as the longer hair!
Poor Casey. :( UTI's are heck.
I hope this doesn't offend anybody, but I'm highly amused that even the churches in that area have gift shops.
Armida's hair looks so cute!

Oh, really?? There's a "Gift Shop Open" sign in that picture? Goodness, I didn't notice! :rolleyes1 ;) :rotfl:

Yep, I thought that was kind of funny myself!!!

Thank you on Arminda's hair!
Poor Casey! That church is really pretty! Arminda's haircut looks really cute! You are so sweet to put flowers on your SIL's mother's grave!:flower3: 10% off the WRONG pizza? :sad2: You were probably sick from the slimy zucchini :scared:

yes, my poor littel Casey! The church is HUGE too! Plus, it's right next to the mall!

Thank you about Arminda's hair!!!

And, I think putting the flowers out there is the least we can do for my SIL. She had a hard upbringing. My Mom is so wonderful, I can't imagine what she went through. I don't know, it feels like something I should do. (Uggh, I am not explaining that well though!)
Just THINKING about the horrible slimy succhini makes me feel sick!

I was thinking the same thing about the alligator in the water :scared1: . I wish I lived near the cemetry because I would go for your SIL. That's nice that you guys do it once a year though. Sorry the pizza place was sooo bad. I can't believe you were charged anything with that kind of service!:headache:
Thank you.

The pizza place was not the best! We've been to one in Chicago that we really liked, so we were hoping this would be good too.
Arminda's hair looks SO darling!! Is there ANYTHING you can't do?!

It's a good thing you can't see Arminda's hair too closely! But, I did think it looked pretty cute! After she cut her hair for Locks Of Love, it was really hard for me to let her get it cut short again, but I'm glad I did it. Especially after seeing the pictures!

I just love you telling off our waiter in your head!!! 1/8 of a rat's tail!!! MissCammie, you cracky me up!

Like everyone else said - It is wonderful of you to take care of your SILs' mother's grave and drop off the flowers. I'll bet she appreciates it very much.

I know she appreciates it. She really wants to go there herself some day though.

I got really sick on our honeymoon too! I felt horrible! It's no fun at all ,is it!

Just wanted you to know, I have enjoyed your TR!:goodvibes

Thank you so much!!!!!

That was a good (?) update. Or should I say, kind of depressing, except for the cute haircut. And the stained glass windows were cool. And that Brian got to go fishing...but is that a gator???

:goodvibes

It's alwasys a good day for Brian if there is fishing involved! I'm not sure if that is a gator or not. I'm not even sure if that is our lake or at the church!

OOOOH! An update!!!! I will go check that out!!!

Wow 1 uti and they did a vcug! Kyle had 3 by the time he was 12 weeks and that is why he had one. HE would spike 103 +fevers and burn up like crazy. every time they would send us off to the er. He was my big baby too. Nikki was tiny and my sick one she didn't get failure to thrive until last yr believe it or not.

I've had three "failure to thrive" babies (and one that was exactly like them, but no one ever said anything :confused3 ).
I challenge you to pick out which ones they were!
FIT is thrown at so much, but the clinical defination is NOT just slow weight gain.
It must involve developmental delays, and/or other medical issues.
My kids just gained slowly.
Don't get me started on that whole nonsense. Grrrrrrr.....

You know they moved Nyla to a different clinic (pm me, if you need the location), and that the only doc in town is Dr. Evans,
and they moved her to the clinic by the high school.
I don't mind Dr. Evans, but closing the peds office to save $ ticks me off!
Grrrrrr......

And "babycakes" is still nursing, and she was 2 in May.
That's my longest, but I usually start getting flack around age one.
She has a well-check soon, see what they say. :rolleyes1

Later!

I looooove Arminda's hair! You did a great job on it!

That is so sweet of you to visit the cemetary. And your reward: crappy pizza!

You know, right now, I am hyperventilating at the thought of losing Nyla!! I PMed you!!! When did they close the peds office?? You would think they would have let me know that?! Or, at least Nyla would have said something when I saw her the other month! I know where Nyla lives though, I'll just go over there!!! I'm sure neither she nor Steve would mind that, right? :rotfl2:

You know, I've been going to that same office since before Corey was born! It was my gynocologist's office when I was pregnant! (not that I cared for that doctor! Uggh, I learned too late, that I didn't like her!)

We had a lot of dealings with FTT when Casey and Courtney were little too! They tried to take them away! It was awful! Arminda was "diagnosed" at the same time as this was going on, and no one tried to take her from me! I think it's just something they like to slap on the charts if the kid is just little, and don't look into the technical definition of it (which we did!)
I looooove Arminda's hair! You did a great job on it!

Thank you Steph!!! I thought Arminda looked pretty cute too! I wish I'd had it done before we saw you though!

I love Arminda's hair. She looks so cute! Sounds like you didn't have the best day-hope the following ones get better.

I am late joining this, but hey, better late than never! I am loving it! Keep up the great work!!

It really wasn't that bad. It just sounds really bad when you write it all down! The drive over to the cemetery just talking with Brian while the kids slept, was a really nice. We don't get a lot of alone time, so that was really special to me.

I am late joining this, but hey, better late than never! I am loving it! Keep up the great work!!

Well, you joined just in time for my next update!

We had decided to do an Epcot Countries day today. Since the countries don't open until later, we didn't have to wake up early. I got the girls bathed and dressed, and we headed out hoping to get to Epcot around the time the countries opened, I think that's 11AM?

We had fallen in love with the countries at Epcot last year. I had never been a big fan of them before then. But, last year I discovered that there were tons of CHARACTERS in the countries! And last year our trip had been all about the characters! So, this year we were hoping to hit them all!

Lydia had also fallen in love with Marie this past year. As Lydia says, "She is becoming one of my favorite characters." She says that about Buzz too. Well, way back many months before our trip, a fellow Disboutiquer, Glorib, had posted a picture of her daughter wearing the CUTEST Marie top and pants!!!! The top was made out of an absolutely darling Marie fabric! Lydia literally grabbed the laptop and started hugging it and kissing it!!!! So, I PMed Lori and begged and pleaded with her to sell me any little scrap of this marvelous Marie fabric that she had left.

She refused!

Really! She did!!!

Well, she refused to SELL it to me! She INSISTED on just GIVING it to me!!! She wouldn't even let me pay for postage!!!! What a sweetheart!!!
DSCF2664_640x480.jpg

It took me many months to figure out what to do with the fabric. There was just about a 1/4 of a yard, so I thought about making a shirt, but I really wanted a dress. Then, it hit me that if made the front of the bottom Marie, I could put ruffles in the back from in a coordinating fabric!!! (Plus, I was thinking that ruffles were sort of "French") I had planned on putting some of the same coordinating fabric on the top. But, when I got everything cut out, I realized that if I pieced together the section of fabric I had left over, it would make a bodice. So, I sewed two pieces together and put a ribbon on it to hide the seam, an VOILÀ! A whole dress out of 1/4 yard of Marie fabric!!!

Sorry to bore you all, but I was really pleased with this dress!!!!

DSCF2646.JPG

So, of course, we were REALLY hoping that there was a chance that we would meet Marie at Epcot! It was all Lydia could talk about since we had found out that Marie does do some meet and greets. I had warned her that our chances of meeting her were not very good. But, I secretly hoping that it would happen too! OK, maybe not so secretly!

After entering Epcot,
S6300515.JPG

We got some pictures taken from the Photopass Photographer

Notice Lydia's hand in this picture
image513.jpg

And then, in this one!
image515.jpg

And, all back to normal like she hadn't done ANYTHING!
image517.jpg

Little Stinker!

I decided to go to Guest Relations to inquire as to whether or not Marie might be in the park that day. We got a really friendly CM. I believe he was from Japan. He commented on how cute Lydia's dress was, and then went to check on Marie's schedule for us. He came back and told us, "No Marie will not be in the park today." Lydia was pretty disappointed! So was I!

The CM saw how disappointed we were, and asked the girls if they wanted pins with their names written on the back in Japanese! Of course they said yes, so he pulled out a birthday pin for Arminda, and a Grand (or is it Magical?) Gatherings pin for Lydia. He even told them to wait a few minutes before putting them on so the ink would dry. He was very thoughtful!

The girls and I walked out, and saw Corey and Brian doing this!
S6300518.JPG

S6300519.JPG

Corey LOVES taking pictures, so I wasn't surprised!

Then, he climbed up on the remnants of that stupid wand and hand (Oh how I DESPISED that dumb hand! Almost as much as I despise the HAT at MGM!), and put a giant pair of Mickey Ears on the ball!
S6300521.JPG

We messed around awhile longer,
S6300522.JPG

S6300523.JPG

and then headed for the countries.

But, first, we were thirsty, so we thought we'd get a cool refreshing cup of the Beverly!!! MMM, yummy!!! Club Cool serves the BEST Beverly around!!!

While we were inside Club Cool, a lady came up to me and said,
"I just HAD to tell you! Your daughter's dress is just adorable!"
I smiled and thanked her, and then Brian said, "She made that herself!"
I was so happy that he was bragging about me! And, I was so happy that someone had come up to tell me how much they liked the dress!!! It was starting out to be a very good day!

So, we had another cup of the Beverly, and head to the countries.
(really if anyone hasn't tried this, you really MUST!)

On the way, we stopped for some Photopass pictures

image535.jpg

image543.jpg

Then, on to Mexico!

We were hoping to see Donald Duck there, so we headed over to the side of the pavilion, and there he was!!!! Unfortunately, when we got in line, he had to take a little break. But, he was soon back!
image550.jpg

image555.jpg

Then, we went inside to ride the ride!!!

I have always been fascinated by the Mexican pavilion! I just love it! The ride, the atmosphere, the whole thing! I love the way it looks like it's nigh time in a Mexican village! The atmosphere in here is just great! And, I love the ride! Always have!
S6300528.JPG

S6300530.JPG

So, of course, we hoped on, and took a ride!

DSCF3274.JPG

After the ride, we messed around with the sombreros and sat by the fountain.

DSCF3262.JPG

There was some music to be played

Lydia thought it would be fun to sit on the fountain

Arminda is wearing the purple Jasmine skirt and top that she requested I make for her. Yes, I know, I've been told by several people *cough*Brian*Cough*Mom*Cough* that it doesn't really look like Jasmine, but frankly, I liked it, and Arminda loved it, so I wasn't worried about it. I had a little Jasmine cameo I was going to sew onto it, but Arminda liked it better without it, and then just wore a Jasmine necklace. I thought she looked quite pretty in it!
DSCF3267.JPG

We played in here for awhile,
DSCF3272.JPG

and the girls started on their masks. We were going to try to make it all the way around the countries this year! We tried last year, but didn't quite get there. At every country, you get a stamp on your mask and a little tag thing to hang off of it. Many of the CMs in the countries will also write a message in their native language on it for your child.

So, the girls spent some time coloring with the sharpies while I tried to relax and not obsess over the thought of them getting that ink on the clothes I had so painstakingly made for them...

'WHY SHARPIES DISNEY???
WHY?????
What's wrong with Crayola WASHABLE markers?????

WASHABLE being the KEY word there!

But, the girls were very careful and didn't get any on their outfits!

On the way out, there was a lady carving little figurines, so we stopped and watcher her for awhile.

We were taking it easy, just soaking it all in. That's what you need to do in the countries, just take your time, and enjoy it!

We then headed to Norway to ride the Maelstrom!

We decided to have a little fun with this ride. There was another couple riding with us, who seemed to have never been on the ride before. So..... we started talking about how much fun it was to do down the falls back wards, and how you had to hold on tight when it dropped....then, as we started heading for the opening, we started screaming!

DSCF3275.JPG

(whoops, maybe I forgot to tell Lydia that we were joking! She looks pretty worried!)

Good times

Good times
(I can't say that without thinking of Jham's daughter Jayden! Hi Jayden!)

After the Maelstrom we headed into the gift shop. Lydia asked me to buy her a little bag of something that looked like M&Ms. I at first agreed, then looked at the price!!! I do believe it was about $8!!! For a little bag of M&M looking things! I felt bad, but I had to tell her I wasn't buying them after all. I did promise her I'd buy a pound of REAL M&Ms at Publix though! She still wasn't happy, but she didn't' throw an all out fit!

Of course, we had to get a picture of the giant troll!
DSCF3277.JPG

We couldn't get a good picture, because there were a lot of people waiting to take a picture with the Troll, but I snapped this one as Lydia walked in front of it!

Heather and i don't think this is the same troll that they usually have, so does anyone know what they did with the other one??

Since there were a lot of people waiting, I decided that instead of holding up the line, I'd have my picture taken with a much smaller troll!

S6300532.JPG

Corey said, to me, "Compared to the Troll, you look good Mom!"
"Umm, Thank you??"

He then found this little figurine that both he and I thought was really cute, and kind of funny! So, of course Corey took a picture.
DSCF3276.JPG

He also found this pair of sunglasses!
DSCF3280.JPG

Look the Norwegian flag!!!
DSCF3280.JPG

Look!!

Made in China!!!
DSCF3280.JPG

Corey found that hilarious!

The girls dresses as Vikings and played around awhile.
DSCF3278.JPG
