Ewww that bug was a spider! We had found one of those when we lived in alabama in a huge web in one of the trees in our backyard. the boys captured it in a jar and we kept it for a while. sure is crazy looking.
LOVING the trip report so far! Keep them coming! :cool1:

What a great day you guys had! I love the pictures. They make me feel like I am right there with you.

Thanks for the compliments on my kiddo. I'm looking forward to going to WDW now cause she's big enough for most rides. She's been 40 in. tall since last year but I think she would've been too scared then. Great update! Mary Poppins dress looks so uncomfortable and scratchy. I love Corey holding onto the walkie talkie in the photopass pics. He's taking on the responsibility like a champ! Brian looks like he's having a blast on ToT. It looks like everyone's having such a great time. I wanna play in those fountains too. It's so darn hot today! It was so thoughtful of Barbara to get you that book, she's a keeper, that one. That spider gave me the heebie jeebies! If it'd been me there would've been a pic of a crushed spider instead of a fully intact one. Lydia's so cute sleeping with makeup between her eyebrows. I love how kids can just fall right asleep in the middle of something. She was just tuckered right out.

What a great installment, Teresa..I may have missed one of the previous installment and will have to go back and read it. Glad that you guys had so much fun at MGM...I mean HOllywood Studios (I still call it MGM). My dd also bought the exact same Mickey Mouse ears as Lydia..my dh was trying to talk her out of it, but that's the one that she wanted.

My dd hasn't been to ToT yet, but I am curious..what is spongiemommie tips on that ride? Dh and I love that ride..we went on it multiple time 7 years ago.

The Ratatoulle play area looks like fun...we never made it there, I think my kids would have loved it..maybe next year.

Anyway, great report...I guess I need to start on mine soon!

Fantastic installment. I love your writing, you have us laughing, crying, and we can really feel the love.

I have to agree with Heather that's my favorite installment too other than that yucky spider thing. That Buzz outfit is so cute too. We ate at Pizza Planet years ago and enjoyed it back then. I kept telling the boys, we're in Pizza Planet. My 5 year old loved it but the litte guy who was almost 3 at the time just wanted his pizza.

I LOVED reading your latest installment... made me really want to be there! What a great day! I couldn't help but laugh at the fact that you took a picture of a random child dressed in what could have been a sheet! :rotfl: THANKS!

I had the Heidi Golden Book and record too!! In fact, my girls found them when we were at my mom's house the last time, and they love them too! :lovestruc

Just wanted to say that before I forget. Now back to read the rest of the post! :goodvibes

Oh there is so much to comment on but I will just go with what my addled brain can remember right this second: I am sure I will think of other things that I should have commented on.

1) the vortex of death: you saw it! You saw how dangerous it looks! Thank you for validating my feelings.

2) the Buzz outfit: glow in the dark ric rac is cool! It's so nice that they made a fuss over her and she got to "hug" Buzz. I love that skirt on her, so nice and twirly!

2) How sweet is Corey to take pictures of the Mary Poppins dress for you to copy? I hope Jacob is half as sweet when he is a teenager.

3) That's the same parade I had to bribe the children with ice cream to watch and then I had the same reaction: that's it? We are not really parade watchers so I was sorely disappointed in that one.

4) You didn't think Fantasmic was meh? I really can't remember the spirit stuff, I think we were so wet and miserable we were just hoping it would be over soon so we could go back to the hotel! But, we did the wave too. The kids were semi-excited about that.

What a great installment! So much info! I can't believe that was only one day. Keep'em coming!

Great installment!

I too am now wondering what Misty said about ToT. But I will tell you a story about ToT from my honeymoon. I love this ride but have not been on it since it was redone to do different drops or whatever it does differently now. But 11 years ago, me & Mark were on our honeymoon and we were riding the ride for the 2nd time that day. The ride started out normal, went up, got dropped, went back up and then got dropped to the bottom. When it got on the floor, it moved backwards like it was supposed to but didn't make its turn - it only pulled back so far. We kept waiting for it to move on back and turn when all of a sudden, we heard the next car making its way up/down/up/down. You can bet that we were all screaming b/c we didn't know if there was enough room for the other car when it got to the bottom. Well, the other car came right down in front of us and it only moved about a foot backwards when it hit our car. I have never heard such screaming in my life. We didn't have to sit there for long and it started moving again. When the doors opened up for us to get off, we saw the CM's just staring at us with their mouths wide open and white as ghosts (moreso than their make-up has them). It was crazy -- they told everyone that got out of our car that if they wanted to ride it again they would go straight into the very first car to do it again. Not one single person took them up on their offer! I believe that probably turned a lot of people off that ride for a very long time. I haven't ridden it again since then but it hasn't been b/c of that. I'm hoping to ride it on my next trip!

Re: Rattatoullie (sp?) play/picture area

Not Theresa, but I THINK they have replaced it with a Wall-E themed area.
Don't quote me on that, but I saw some pictures, and think that's what they said. It's in the Animation Bldg.

Dude, of course you have a shout out to me while I am away!!

Crush totally called you guys out. Cha....

You know, my kids got almost no comments on their outfits the entire time we were in wdw. HHBG even dared to suggest that, if they were not going ot get any attention for the, maybe I shouldn't other making them outfits next time. Yes, I hit him....:rolleyes1

Oh, tell Heather, I am reading hers too. I am just behind, from being away for a week, and only commenting here. No, it's not because I like you better....you just have easier to comment on hotlinks....hers are easier to follow. :snooty:

:rotfl:

Another great update! You made MGM sound like fun. we never spend much time there. We will have to try to stay there longer this year. The Ratatoule playground looked cute. I was laughing about the backpack incident! Was the pizza really good or were you being nice??? We thought we would try there but we are afraid of bad pizza !

DD4 hates fantasmic! She is terrified of it so we haven't done it in 2 years! And the crowds leaving are crazy!

Looking forward to another update!
MGM has always been one of my favorite parks. Ok, not always because when they first opened up, there wasn't much to do there! The Ratoutouille set was pretty fun! At least our kids thought so! I see that Sarah has posted that it might be a Wall-E set now!:woohoo: I think the area is really for a meet and greet, but the kids had fun playing!

Great update! I have a special place in my heart for the theme park formerly known as MGM. And I don't know why. I really like the feeling of it.

You guys REALLY squeezed a lot out of a partial day. Whew. I'm tired just reading about it.

We actually really liked Pizza Planet also.
We thought the pizza and salads were tasty.
We also loved the fact that we could get Gluten Free pizza there,
for my two that can't eat wheat.
No PB&J for you that day, eh?

And, most importantly...
You may not realize that my ds (almost 12) aka The Chef, is not only
a food expert, he is also a wildlife expert.

He took one look at your pic and said "Jewel spider."
So...I looked it up.

http://www.usq.edu.au/spider/find/spiders/126.htm

And wouldn't you know, he was right!!!!

He never ceases to amaze me. We have started letting people know
that there is no point in arguing with him over animal info,
as he is always right. LOL

So, there you go. You know who to go to with all such wildlife questions.

Later!
Please than "the Chef" for me!!!! He is amazing! He must have a great teacher! :thumbsup2

I love MGM too! Brian and I took our first non honeymoon trip as a married couple to MGM the first year it opened. We saw that guy from The Jeffersons there that year! I can't think of his name right now, but he was George Jefferson. I have pictures somewhere I could dig up!

We didn't go on the backlot tour this year, and I can't say I missed it! I think that helped to fit in a lot more stuff!

As for PB&J, they are great, and I didn't have to hear a husband complaining about the cost of food! ;)
Wow what a great MGM day!!!! I love all of the pics and you all seemed to get to see and do all you wanted! Sorry about Fantasmic...I have never been but I get what you were saying...I would probably be uncomfortable too I try to avoid that kinda thing myself!
The girls really looked like they had a great time (and you too!) with them while getting your BLY pics! So cute! I love the BLY outfit!
Pizza Planet looked yummy too! I have heard mixed reviews..
I bet you were all so tired but happy at the end of the day! Thanks for such a wonderful update!
Thanks Cathy!

We really did have a wonderful time! I love the Buzz outfit on Lyddy too!
We really did love the pizza at Pizza Planet. I got the veggie pizza, and it was really good!
I'm so excited about your latest installment because I don't know what all you guys did this day! I'm going to take notes as I read it:

About the Heidi record- If David feels guilty about it, he hides it well. When I've brought it up, he looks positively giddy that he got rid of that record! :snooty: He did the same thing to my "Splish Splash" record that Kim and I used to dance to every morning before school (and every day after school, and on the weekends, and on summer vacation....).

That Barbara has the biggest heart. How sweet that she brought that book for you.

"She is like a part of me, without her, I wouldn't be me. " Oh Teresa, what are you trying to do to me? I can't be crying this early in the morning! You are so incredibly sweet. I love you so much. I so appreciate you being there for me through that horrible time. It was SO scary. I was so afraid my little baby boy would grow up without knowing his Mommy. Okay, I'm really crying now. They transferred me to a hospital which was about 3 hours away and my mom, dad, Teresa, Corey, Arminda, Lydia, and Tessa stayed in a hotel until they let me come home. Now THAT'S a wonderful family!!! Henry and Sawyer were able to stay right in the room with me.

A-ha! I fogot that we went swimming with you guys that morning! I was trying to remember when that happened! Thank you for not posting a picture of me in my bathing suit. See, she's showing me (and you all) more love!

WHAT in the HECK was that BUG?!? WOW!! That thing looks evil!! ETA: Connor solved the myster! You go boy!!

I'm wondering if Casey was starting to feel sick already when she fell asleep in the car. Poor girl. I never got to see her in that shirt I got her, so thanks for the pictures!

"Someone started screaming 'High School Musical!!!! HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL!!!!!' I stopped screaming long enough..."
Okay, not you've got me crying with laughter!!! :rotfl:

Tessa is looking at the pictures of the HSM show and she is saying "No fair, they got to go up there! No fair that they got to go up there! Where were they, in the front?" When we watched this show, we couldn't even see, much less get up front!

Good to see that mom gets her "fret" on even when I'm not there! (worrying about David and Corey not knowing where to meet you)

I LOVE the pictures of Arminda and Casey dancing on the bench!!!

That guy does look like Howard!!! I thought it before you even wrote it down! Those guys didn't do a preshow the day we were there. :sad2: I was pretty disappointed because I really liked them last time!

I also double checked our seat belts on TOT, thanks to Misty's TR! The picture of Brian on TOT is HEE-larious!!!

*sigh* The Glory Days of the Internet. How I missed those days....1998 was a good year for internet shopping. I got more free stuff than I can even remember. The new websites were giving out coupon codes left and right- some for $30 off of a $30 purchase, with free shipping!!! Yes, SERIOUSLY!!!

Oh yeah, that girl was wearing some reconstructed sheets!!! How COOL!!!

OOOOHHH!!! You're a line jumper (insert little guy jumping and pointing here)!! How funny that the people behind you even pushed your stroller up for you!

That is definitely Arminda's "I just spotted a boy" face!

Buzz isn't so huggable is he? :rotfl: I now have fingerprints covering my computer screen because Sawyer REALLY enjoyed all the pics of Buzz and Woody!

That is too funny they called security on that lady's backpack!! Come ON!! People leave strollers and bags unattended for hours at a time while they're off waiting in line and such! CRAZY! I love their "pick and choose securty" at Disney.

Judging from the red faces, I don't think that "snow" was all that cool!

I've always wanted to eat at Pizza Planet, too. :sad2: Corey looks so stinkin' cute laughing at whatever his incredibly funny mother said. I love that you guys picked the one day I wasn't with you to forgo the sandwiches and eat in a restaurant!

Yes, Mary Poppin's dress looks very uncomfortable! That's why I made the "summer" version for Tessa to wear!

Wow, how cool are you getting to be the end and the beginning of the wave!!

I can't believe Dad was absconding with someone else's stroller! THIEF!!!!

I can just imagine you and Corey on your "grand adventure". You guys were probably giggling like a couple of goofy kids, weren't you? I wish you had pictures of you in the stroller!!

I LOOOVE the picture of spinny Lyddy! I also love the picture of her falling asleep while applying makeup!

What a GREAT installment!! My favorite so far!!

Fun? YES! Delicious? Not so much! There was coffee flavored ice cream mixed in with the grossest array of toppings I've ever sunk my teeth into!

Whoever said Teresa was bright and cheery::rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2:
:rotfl2:

What a little cutie!! I think she actually looks a lot like Arminda when she was younger!

Aww thanks Heather! You are so good taking notes!!
And, you just let people think I am a little ray of sunshine if they want too!!!! ;)

Yes, Corey and I WERE giggling a mile a minute on our Grand Adventure!!!! It was really funny seeing Dad waltzing away with that other stroller! It was a completely different design and a completely different color! I should have taken a picture of it! The one he was taken was an umbrella stroller type, and it was blue! WHO thought it was a good idea to send DAD to get the stroller, I don't know! :confused3

That is a cool picture of Lydia spinning and kicking up her heals, isn't it! Did you notice that in the picture of her waiting for the parade, the one where she is coming back from the Hoola hoops, her feet aren't even touching the ground!

She DOES look a lot like Arminda, doesn't she!

I love Corey taking the pictures of the outfit.

He is a sweet heart that boy!
When are you guys going to WDW next?? I WANNA GO WITH YOU!! You have way too much fun without me.

maybe we should plan a DISboutiquers trip. Wouldn't THAT be fun???
LOVED this report!
That would be fun!
What a Great TR!

How sweet of your sil! How is she doing? Is she getting healthy?

I love how your family is so close! Love that you and your sisters are sisters but are best friends.
I read a bit about what was up with Heather OMG scary! I am glad they have it figured out and I hope she stays feeling healthy. Not feeling well is no fun!

Nikki got that same Minnie ears that Lydia got when she went in March. I think they are so pretty! I adore her dress! Is it a CarlaC pattern?

What is this ToT tip ? Is it just make sure you are strapped in? Nikki LOVEs that ride she would go on it all day if we would let her ut Kyle says it is his 'hatest ' ride:rotfl: He said he felt like he was going to fall out. Now I wonder if my SIL's didn't have him strapped in?

I can't believe those guys are still there before Beauty and the east! We saw them 4 yrs ago I thought they were fun.

Every time I read your tr's I get so excited for our trip!!!!!!
You guys need to read Misty's trip report!!! As I recall, just as the ride was about to drop, she realized her son's seat belt WASN'T BUCKLED!!! So, she had to try to hold him in and buckle him up! I'll try to find the link to her report and post it.

Lydia saw those Minnie ears and had to have them!

Lydia's outfit is a CarlaC peasant top with modified sleeves and a Redondo (spiral) style skirt. Both patterns can be found at http://www.youcanmakethis.com :thumbsup2 Thanks for the compliments!

Barbara (SIL) is doing AMAZINGLY well! She had her mastectomy, and bounced back so quick, you wouldn't even know she had major surgery! She got a prosthesis, and you can't even tell!

I hope my girls are as close when they grow up as Heather and I! I think they will be.

Heather's condition is scary to 9th degree! The portal vein thrombosis it caused adds to the scary element too! So, maybe it would be 10th degree.
Ewww that bug was a spider! We had found one of those when we lived in alabama in a huge web in one of the trees in our backyard. the boys captured it in a jar and we kept it for a while. sure is crazy looking.
LOVING the trip report so far! Keep them coming! :cool1:

EWWWW!!! Although, I would have like to have seen the web!

What a great day you guys had! I love the pictures. They make me feel like I am right there with you.
Thanks Denise! I was afraid I might bore people with all the pictures, but I love seeing people's pictures from their trips, so I put them in!
Every time I see one of your posts, you have changed your signature photo! I love all these pictures! Did you nephew take them?
Thanks for the compliments on my kiddo. I'm looking forward to going to WDW now cause she's big enough for most rides. She's been 40 in. tall since last year but I think she would've been too scared then. Great update! Mary Poppins dress looks so uncomfortable and scratchy. I love how kids can just fall right asleep in the middle of something. She was just tuckered right out.
Brian was having fun on ToT! He is just a big kid really when we get to the parks! He loves it! Yes, Corey took his walkie talkie duties VERY seriously, unlike someone else I know...

Barbara is a sweetheart! She is just so thoughtful!

Don't you just LOVE Lyddy's makeup skills!!! :lmao:
What a great installment, Teresa..I may have missed one of the previous installment and will have to go back and read it. Glad that you guys had so much fun at MGM...I mean HOllywood Studios (I still call it MGM). Misty's tip is to make sure your kids are buckled BEFORE the ride drops!
Thanks for reading!

Fantastic installment. I love your writing, you have us laughing, crying, and we can really feel the love.
Aww, that is so nice to read! Thank you!

Excellent update. Keep them coming! Hey, where is the Ratatouille playground area?
This was in the animation studio. It's not exactly a playground, but it was fun!

I knew you guys would appreciate that! Not only is it a sheet, it's a vintage sheet! She looked so cute, I had to share!
I had the Heidi Golden Book and record too!! In fact, my girls found them when we were at my mom's house the last time, and they love them too! :lovestruc

Just wanted to say that before I forget. Now back to read the rest of the post! :goodvibes
I still have the Golden Book somewhere! Such memories! Lydia loves the Shirley Temple version of Heidi.
Oh there is so much to comment on but I will just go with what my addled brain can remember right this second: I am sure I will think of other things that I should have commented on.

1) the vortex of death: you saw it! You saw how dangerous it looks! Thank you for validating my feelings.

1.)Yes, that thing is Dangerous!
2.)Corey is very sweet! From what I saw of Jacob, he is well on his way to becoming a terrific teenager too!
3.)That is THE most BORING "parade" ever! No wonder they didn't want to see it!
4.)No, I'm not a fan of Fantasmic. Even without the spirit stuff, it didn't thrill me. It's just a bunch of movie stuff on water! Meh, definetely a meh!

Great installment!

I too am now wondering what Misty said about ToT. But I will tell you a story about ToT from my honeymoon. I love this ride but have not been on it since it was redone to do different drops or whatever it does differently now. AMY! Oh my GOSH!!! THAT is so scary!!!! WOW! Even scarrier knowing the CMs were scared too! I can't believe you want to do it again!
Re: Rattatoullie (sp?) play/picture area

Not Theresa, but I THINK they have replaced it with a Wall-E themed area.
Don't quote me on that, but I saw some pictures, and think that's what they said. It's in the Animation Bldg.

Thanks Sarah! I made Lyddy a Wall-E dress, and I was hoping she could wear it to MGM when we go in May! That would be great if they had a meet and greet there!

Barbara (SIL) is doing AMAZINGLY well! She had her mastectomy, and bounced back so quick, you wouldn't even know she had major surgery! She got a prosthesis, and you can't even tell!

So glad to hear that Barbara is doing well.

Please than "the Chef" for me!!!! He is amazing! He must have a great teacher! :thumbsup2

Don't blame, ahem, I mean credit me with his knowledge. He just absorbs info like that from all kinds of sources.
At 6 years old we realized he could read more than Fat Cat Sat when he suddenly was telling us all the character names in the old Star Wars movies,
and all their backstories, and odd and obscure Star Wars facts,
and it was because he had memorized all of Daddy's Star Wars Encyclopedia.
And the day he argued with me that there was indeed such a thing as a tree kangaroo. And then proved it with an animal book we had.

So, no, I am not a biology genius. Apparently, the secret to boys is to give them books that THEY think are interesting.

So cool about the Wall-E dress. She will be stylin'!

Love the TR. So many things to comment on, but I don't want this one to get lost-

That Corey has to be the BEST teenager EVER! I hope my boys are half as nice as he is when they are his age.

Oh and we didn't get a lot of comments on our outfits either. I figured it was just because they were boys. We LOVED the parade at DHS. The kids were wearing their Mike W. customs and the Monsters part stopped right in front of us. That was one of the few places they got TONS of attention.

I think Corey is a pretty great teenager too! He has his moments, but nothing too bad! Thank you for the nice compliment!

That is so cool about the parade at DHS!!!! (or MGM, as I prefer to call it!) I'm glad your boys got some attention there!

Ok, next installment forthcoming in just a minute...

We had late morning reservations at Chef Mickey's so we got to sleep in a bit. Gotta love that! We got the girls and Mom all dressed up in their matching Mickey shirts, did their hair,

IMG_1026.JPG

and we were out the door! No breakfast today, since we were eating breakfast with the big cheese himself!!!

One thing we all noticed this morning though, the water didn't stink anymore!!! WOO HOO!!! The house no longer stunk when we took showers, it just smelled like the normal Florida water! Finally!

We parked at the Magic Kingdom lot, and rode the monorail over.

Most of the gang went down the stairs, but Henry, Barbara and I took the elevator with the strollers. It seems like Henry said something very funny in the elevator, because I remember laughing, but I don't recall what it was! Henry can be quite a funny guy!

We exited the elevator and then giddily galavanted over to the check in stand. We got our beeper, and then headed over to get our picture taken with the Big Plate! Fun times, fun times!!!!

While we were waiting, we spotted Mickey, and pointed him out to Sawyer, so he would get used to seeing how he looked close up. Sawyer seemed like he was going to be ok with it, and was even quite excited to see Mickey. Although, Mickey was safely on the other side of a wall at the time.

And, lucky lucky you!!! Some line pictures!!!

DSC08253.JPG

We tried to take a picture of Mom and the girls in their matching shirts, but the beeper went off as we were doing that, so the pictures aren't the best. But, you can see how adorable they looked! Heather made all these shirts for Mom and the girls. Didn't she do a fantastic job!

IMG_1032.JPG

We got quite a few comments on the matching outfits, but not as many as you would think with five little girls and their Grandma all dressed alike!

We were taken to our seats, and I believe our waiter took our drink orders. Then, it was off to get something to eat before the characters started coming around! Chef Mickey's was our very first character meal when the girls (Casey and Arminda) were three, so it has always held a very special place in my heart. And, come to think of it, I actually wrote a trip report of that trip way back when. Although, at the time, I didn't know I was writing a trip report! Here's a link to that trip, if you would like to read about it!http://www.angelfire.com/on2/teresaspage/Vacation.html And, if you don't want to read it,(but really, WHY wouldn't you??? LOL) here's are some pictures from that trip.

It WAS MAGICAL!! SIMPLY MAGICAL!! And, started us on a love of character dining!

I had never eaten breakfast here before, and I have to say, if I could avoid it, I probably wouldn't eat breakfast here again! I just wasn't very impressed with the variety or the quality of the food. Although, I do tell people that you don't really eat at Chef Mickey for the fine dining experience! But, the dinners we've had were way better than this breakfast! It wasn't awful, it was just, to quote Steph, "Meh".

So we settled in with our food and drinks. Although, it seems like Heather didn't get a drink, but I'm sure you will read her report and find out about that! The wait staff was not exactly on the ball here this morning. As we were eating, we noticed there was a bird flying around the restaurant, and perched near our table. I was very worried that we would get a "little something extra" deposited on our food from the bird, but thankfully, it flew away!

Then, there was some napkin twirling to be done!

Then, we spotted our first character coming towards us!!! Goofy!!!!!!

Goofy spotted David right away, and plopped down next to him for a few pictures!!! It was fun!! David was really enjoying it!
