Dork Wars Episode II: The Revenge of Joaquin - Nov. 12 / Jul. 13 PTR *UPDATE 6/30*

I cannot even imagine how irritating the next few weeks will be for your mom. Prayers for a quick recovery and a quick return to the World once that recovery stuff has finished up. :)

I HATE AIRLINES (SW excluded). Seriously, how do they get away with that? I know that people cancel on every flight, but yet they're always still booked solid - so WHY charge all that money in cancellation fees? Regardless of that, if someone has a documented medical issue and suddenly can't fly, can't there be some sort of leniency? Even if it's $50 instead of $150, requiring a physician's note - what's so crazy about that? It'd be great publicity; I'd be more willing to fly on an airline like that.

Oh yay for the semi first timer! I'd say I can't wait for the trip report, but you've already got like 6 so I have no clue when we'd see THAT one. LOL!!

Yay! Trip is on and still good, and a girls trip! I'm glad that everything kind of worked out for you.

I know the whole American Airlines being not so nice thing, we booked through them our very first trip when Dionne had to back out last minute and I called them crying, and freaking out, then Nick (who took her place) called them and emailed their highest up manager and finally we managed to get Dionne's flight changed over to Nick's name and in total we only had to pay one of the fees, rather than everything. To this day I don't know how he did it, but REALLY. Airlines need to realize sometimes things don't work out. Ugh.

I'm so excited for your trip! And mine! ACK! SO MUCH EXCITEMENT

I'm glad that everything worked out too. I hate this whole airline thing though. And then you wonder why people only want to fly with Southwest, because we contend with less hassles with them.

I'm excited too! I can't wait. I have to remember to get your Cocoa Puffs. :lmao:

I don't know how airlines get away with it either. It's just a racket in my opinion.

Girl please, I'll start this trip report right when I get back....the question always is WHEN I'm going to finish it. :lmao:

I'm sorry that your mom can't join you, anymore, but it's great that you found someone else to travel the world with. :goodvibes And I agree, keeping it girls-only sounds like a good idea, and I bet your SIL will see and learn quite a bit in the four days she's there. :thumbsup2

Even though I am sad to not be able to go with my all time favorite traveler, I am happy that my DIL will go with my wonderful, amazing daughter as her Disney guide. They will have an amazing time and I know 100% that Jeni will be the next Disney freak in the family. YEAH for adding another one to the Disney fold.

I'm glad to hear you found another travel companion! Can't wait to hear about it from a first timer's eyes.

I'm glad to hear that your mom's surgery went well!!! I hope her recovery is quick and smooth!!! :goodvibes

That's so nice that you and Jeni are going to Disney together!!

It has worked out for us in the end, even though I am still sad that my Mom won't be able to come along. But absolutely, it was supposed to be a girls only trip, and it is going to remain a girls only trip. :goodvibes

I'm very glad too. I'll make sure to take good notes of the entire experience for us.

That's so nice that you and Jeni are going to Disney together!!

She's healing very nicely, and the Dr. says that it should be about a week longer before she can go back to some limited activity. :thumbsup2

We're pretty excited about the trip. It's going to be a lot of fun.

Day 4 - Sunday November 25, 2012

So finally, I will move on to our final November day. Our itinerary is pretty much remaining the same, even though we have had a traveler exchange between Mom and Jeni.

So day 4 will bring us to Jeni's favorite park, the Animal Kingdom.

Let me explain Jeni's inexperience with WDW. She went a few years ago, courtesy of her brother in law (her sister's ex-husband). They went with his two little girls and Gavin.

Well.....they never hit any parks before 11am. Seriously. You can all do this with me now. :scared1: Jason (my brother, remember), nearly had a heart attack when he found this out and read her the riot act. Basically, they accomplished nothing and never hit any really major attractions. They had no touring plans, no plans at all, zip, nada, nothing. So, she remembers that the Animal Kingdom was pretty. And that it had It's Tough to Be a Bug. And that's it. :lmao:

Have no fear fine friends, I'm here now. Everything will be oooooookkkkkaaaaaaayyyyyyy.

We'll make sure to take pictures of this beauty.

We'll conquer the mountain....a Yeti may make an appearance. :rolleyes2

I will have absolutely no shame in scaring the bejeezus out of her.

We'll just spend some time wandering around and exploring throughout the day. A safari will be a part of the deal as well. I know I want to do some shows too, but haven't decided what yet. We shall see. Perhaps both Festival of the Lion King and Finding Nemo? :goodvibes

Our flight leaves at 8:40pm, so we'll have the lion's share of the day (see what I did there.....lion's share? So witty I am.) to enjoy the park.

And that's day four! I'll be sharing some other random thoughts before the trip and some updates on my Mom. Thanks for reading along, I really do love all of my readers.

Ahhhhhh, that is just no good, insanity, a shame and just plain wrong! :lmao: Thank goodness you are to the rescue! She's going to have the best time!! :cheer2:

Glad your momma is doing well :goodvibes

Sounds like a fun last day! I hope Jeni likes Animal Kingdom as much as she remembers because that poor park just doesn't get enough love!

Thanks for the well wishes. I am doing better every day. Have to see the Retina specialist a week from tomorrow and hopefully I don't have to sleep on my face anymore :rotfl2:

It is wrong, isn't it? I'm like "oh no honey....we're going to fix that!" :lmao:

I think she's going to love it like she did the last time. We'll make sure to hit the majors and take our time throughout the park.

I hope you don't have to sleep on your face anymore too. :rotfl2:

Hahaha oh dear.

I can't wait for this TR!

I can't wait to scare her either, I'm not gonna lie. You know that's how I roll. :lmao:

Aw man, I hate how quickly PTR's are done! Sad face! BUT, it's super exciting as we only have like, 2.5 weeks til we're there! Yaaaayyyyyy. :cool1: Looks like a great last day! Usually I have something planned after a day at AK, and this year I don't, maybe I'll actually spend the whole day there haha.

MAKE SURE YOU SEE FOTLK!!!!

As we still don't know if it's closing in Jan or not....just sayin...I might be spending my entire day there...

Hahaha, well this one's not done yet, because I still got July to talk about girlie! :lmao:

You're right, we do only have about 2.5 weeks until we're there. So so exciting.

I will see FOTLK when we're there. I know it may not be there, so I can't just say "oh we'll see it on the family trip in July".

I'm glad you have a new travel partner, but she sounds like she approaches the parks like my brother. I am sure you will whip her into shape in no time. I mean, AK with no highlighters? The horror! Get her but on EE so you can scare the bejesus out of her.

I'm glad too. On that trip she was subject to someone who didn't like to get up early in the morning on top of being off property, so there was no where for her to really go.

Oh, I'm going to get her on as many things as possible to scare her. :rotfl:

I went back and re-read each post to catch back up since I was so desperately behind! First, I am glad you got Boardwalk and I can't wait to hear about that visit! That is where I hope to stay next time!! (See how far behind I am?! :sad2:)

How cool you will be eating lunch at BOG! Slightly jealous there!

Sorry to hear about your mom! That really stinks! I have a friend that had that same surgery and those two weeks were miserably long! But I am glad your SIL was able to work things out! Loving your plans and Via Napoli!! :goodvibes It is so close now!!!

I am doing much better. Don't have to sleep on my face anymore :yay::yay: that was harder than the surgery for sure. It will take about 4 to 5 more weeks before I can start my exercise program again. I am hoping to be able to go back to work in about 2 more weeks.

thank you to all of you for the well wishes. :cheer2::cheer2:
