A, I'm only 5'2" and my legs are pretty short.
I've always been a fast walker, though. Take your time on the treadmll for now - worry about building up the distance you walk. The speed will come later, as your muscles and joints get used to the walking.
Erin, I think one person could get a good walk in at the mall. Two people may even be able to walk side-by-side most of the time. Three people gets tougher as you are trying to dodge around all the other shoppers. Don't know if this would work or not.
I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed this morning. I already have laundry in. I'm still in jammies because I have nothing clean!
I like to spread the housework, cooking, etc. over the whole weekend but since I ran around yesterday, there's lots to be done today. DD and her friends want to go to the mall so I'll be getting my walk in there while they shop. I'm going to wear my walking shoes and put on the miles!
I have tomorrow off (Martin Luther King Jr. day) so I plan on doing some cooking then. I also have to help DD get everything put back into her room in an organized fashion.
I'm taking deep relaxing breaths and I'll be using my timer to break things down into 10 minute tasks. I've also assigned chores to the kids - love that teen labor! I'm trying to ignore that knot in my stomach - the one that says I'll never get anything accomplished.
I don't know about food today - will have to be careful because I have nothing premade and no specific plan. I think breakfast will be a protein bar, just because it's quick and easy.
I'll be back later to recount how I finished cleaning and organizing the entire house, caught up on all laundry (including changing all sheets), did my budget for the next 5 years and found an extra $200 a week to spend, and cooked enough food for the freezer so I don't have to cook for the next 3 months.....
