Doreen's New Way of Life (comments are welcome)

:sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

Sending lots of extra sunshine your way! I'm glad that you got extra rest last night and that your presentation went well. Ya know you can't sweat the small stuff and with work it is all small stuff if you ask me!

Have a great day princess: Doe!

~Amanda

You are my 1000th post! :teeth:

Amanda, so sweet of you to share your 1000th post with me!! :sunny: Funny how posting here has become part of my life - what did I do before DIS and before WISH?? Oh, I remember - I ATE more! :p :p :p I'm thinking that I could consider my computer time as a weight loss plan!

:sunny: :sunny: It's Friday!! :sunny: :sunny:
I'm only working 4 hours today and taking the afternoon off. I deserve it after going in while I was sick this week. ::yes:: Not sure what I'll do with the extra time but I'll think of something!

The scale is stuck at 136 which is understandable since I haven't been working very hard at this healthy living stuff lately. I'm going to get my attitude back in order and get down to business. I'm looking forward to my Disney trip because I find it pretty easy to lose weight when I'm there - all that walking and we tend to eat pretty lightly. Besides I have no stress so there's no stress-binge-eating! :teeth:

I'm off to get ready for work - gotta get the kids movin'!

 and :goodvibes to you this morning, dear Doreen. WE MADE IT THROUGH THE WEEK!:jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: :jumping1: Can you stand it? It's Friday! Should we sing over here in your journal, too?

What are you doing this weekend? Beginning with your plans for this afternoon, I want a full description--I love hearing what people are going to do! (Is that kind of weird?) Will you and DH have a chance to go out together? There's a restaurant near us called Dos Amigos and I'm thinking I'm going to grab DH and have him take me out tomorrow night for fajitas and margaritas. Are the kids busy this weekend? How's Steph's back? How's your cold? Maybe you should go home this afternoon and sleep for the rest of the day!

When you go to WDW for two weeks and you go as often as you guys do, do you make plans or do you just kind of wing it? What are you looking forward to the most? Somehow I think it might involve DH and some quality hot-tub time. . .:D

Have a great day, Doreen. to you,
Erin

LOL! Someone needs to switch Erin to decaf! LOL! I will agree though that it is great that it is FRIDAY! Enjoy your afternoon off and keep me in mind as I slave away a full 8 hours today. I know you are going to be back on the healthy living train after your relaxing afternoon off. Just concentrate on accomplishing one meal or one snack at a time. :teeth:

Uhh, Amanda, like, uhh, just so you know: coffee is my friend.:p
:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

;) I know coffee is your friend - it is mine too! For someone who claims to be dragging you sure are peppy this morning. I am picturing you like this at your computer --->:jumping1:

~Amanda

Nothing like journal buddies to keep me laughing!! :teeth: You guys are a HOOT!! :hyper: :hyper: :hyper:

Erin, I'll try to answer all your questions but I do have to do SOME work while I'm at the office.....LOL!! First off, we can ALWAYS sing in my journal - I LOVE to sing! How about
:rolleyes1 I can see clearly now, the rain is gone. It's gonna be a bright, bright sunshiney day! :rolleyes1

Today I'm leaving work around noon. I like your idea of a nap, Erin, and I think that's what I'll do with my afternoon off. This cold has really sapped my energy so some extra snooze time with my puppy curled up beside me sounds heavenly!

This evening, DS has a birthday party to attend. That leaves DH, DD & I at home. I've been invited to a girls' game night but I think I'll pass - don't want to infect anyone else and just too tired. Hmmm, not sure what we'll do.

Tomorrow morning we have some errands to run. Tomorrow afternoon DH & I will attend a friend's wedding. I have NO IDEA what I'll wear - it's outside in a park so I don't want to get too dressed up but I don't want to go too casual either. I'd go shopping but I'm broke. I'll find something in the closet. Besides, no one is going to care what I'm wearing.

Sunday's schedule is blissfully empty! I do need to take DS shopping for some items for his upcoming trip. I also need to start packing for Disney - I can pack the "kitchen" bag with all the miscellaneous stuff. We're leaving in 3 weeks. DS will be staying 1 week with my parents and then he'll be leaving for his trip, so I have to pack twice for him - the stuff for his week at Grandma's and the stuff for his trip to Australia / New Zealand.

Steph's back is better - she's back to normal with only a twinge now and then. I think when school's out and she stops lugging that 30 pound backpack, she'll be feeling much better!

I have very little planned for Disney. We just show up and wing it. DD and her friend Kim are taking a surfing lesson at Typhoon Lagoon and I'm spending a morning playing with a Segway at Epcot. Those are the only things that are booked. We don't even do PSs at restaurants. I'll usually call a day or two ahead while we're there if we decide to eat at a specific restaurant.

I'm looking forward to margaritas at the Mexico pavilion and strolling around World Showcase with DH after dark with the torches lit. The hot tub is a close second - I'm usually in it twice a day. :p We always meet the nicest people at the hot tub and spend time chatting there about DVC and Disney and life in general. So many things to look forward to but we kick back and take things very slow and relaxed when there. Of course, we have to find some of our CM friends that we've made over the years - Tammy at the Jungle Cruise, Darlene at the Tower of Terror, Darlene at Beaches & Cream, the DISBoards' own Stepharoonie who starts her Disney career tomorrow at the AKL front desk, etc. For us, Disney is more about the people than about the attractions. We often strike up conversations with people - both CMs and guests.

Enough for now - I have to get back to work! :sunny:

:cloud9: Ahh, for a moment I'm in WDW with you guys just living the life. Thanks for sharing. :D

I'm off to work. Thanks for sharing my Friday mania with me. :p

Love ya, WISH-sis,
Erin

Did someone say margaritas?:drinking: I'm there! LOL! Oh Doe can I please come too! Please! Todd won't mind will he?

Ah I can just picture it - hanging out at the hot tub enjoying a Pina Colada :drinking: and relaxing in the sunshine. Sweet Bliss :cloud9:

Instead I'll be stuck in St. Louis doing this --->:bored:

I've been wanting to use these smileys for awhile can ya tell?

actually sound like plans for a real vacation - a real restful, relaxing vacation - no stress, nothing but fun!

Now that it is getting so close - those days will fly by quickly.

How exciting for your son to go to Australia & New Zealand. My 18 year old cousin Matthew spent a year ago Christmas and all last summer with family in Australia and is now spending time after graduation with family near London. Those travel experiences will stay with your son for the rest of his life. They are well worth saving for.

Have a very good weekend. And please feel better.

-Laurie:sunny:

Your vacation sounds wonderful. For a moment I was walking around the world showcase with you. Thanks for the nice picture in my mind! Too bad we won't be there for a while. I agree, I love meeting the people and talking with them. Have a great time.:earsboy:

Hey Doe,

Just stopped in to show you my new clippie!

The incredible shrinking one!

Dax

Saturday really blew by! The wedding turned out beautifully. The heat and humidity made it hard for me to breath (still getting over my cold) so after the ceremony (standing outside for 2 hours), DH & I snuck off to Red Lobster for lunch. Then we went back to the reception for a bit to chat with everyone. We stopped by Target to get some things for DS' trip and headed home.

Today, I'm doing my laundry for the week. Then DS & I are going to work on packing for his trip. I'm sure we'll head to the mall to pick up anything else he needs. Once he's packed, I'll feel so much better!

Hopefully I'll find some time to get to journals - I'm really missing everyone!!

I'M BACK!
Hi Doe,
How are you feeling today? Is your Sunday still unscheduled? I hope so,so you can get a nap in. I can almost see the World Showcase in your description. I miss WDW. I remember a few months ago you were trying to figure out how you would make it to your trip, and now you are packing for it. It sounds exactly what you need. I hope you're feeling better.

Have a good Sunday,
Beth

:sunny: Good Morning!! :sunny:

I'm easing myself into Monday. Part of me has the usual feelings of anxiety as I start back to work - lots of projects and deadlines. However, another part of me is feeling confident that my best will be good enough. At the end of last week I was making good progress at work and I'll be taking things one step at a time and working through them.

I'm going to take a page from Erin's book and declare today sugar-free for myself. My only other goal today will be to treat myself well. By now, I know how to do that. It isn't a burden - it's like giving myself a warm hug all day.

Tonight I'll be helping DS to finish all the laundry for his trip so we can get his suitcase packed and weighed. He's only allowed one bag that weighs 40 pounds and one carry-on that weighs 11 pounds. His trip is only 4 weeks away. We have his daily itinerary and list of accomodations where he'll be staying - looks like the group will be go-go-going non-stop and staying in very nice places - truly a wonderful trip.

Once DS' bags are packed, then I can move on to packing for Disney. DH has been very nice about taking the pressure off for our trip. He keeps telling me that there are plenty of stores in Florida - if we forget anything, we'll just go shopping for it. He's a sweetie! With a washer / dryer in our villa, I don't have to worry about taking a lot of clothes and with a full kitchen & a Winn-Dixie nearby I don't have to worry about taking food or food-prep stuff. When I start to get tense and worried, I have to breathe deep and remember all this. ::yes::

Here I go, into the day. I'm going to make it a good one! I'm going to treat myself kindly, and calmly work through things at work and at home. It's time to put me and my sanity first - no rushing or fussing.

Peace to all! :sunny:

Hey Doe- Hope your weekend left you refreshed and ready for the week. You and your husband are too funny- sneaking out of the wedding recep for a Red Lobster lunch.

Was the wedding Cicada infested? We are in the peak of the cicada onslaught. They are so loud and they are everywhere. Gross. Anyway if you don't have them yet you will soon as you are just a bit north of us.

Hope your week is off to a great start
Mary:sunny:

Hi Doe,

Looks like you have a solid plan for the day. Here's an extra  for good measure. Looks like you'll be able to do lots of relaxing in WDW. It's almost here. You can make it.
:sunny:
Beth

Oh as far as forgetting things goes, check out my tag. It took 10 minutes to buy more.

Good Morning Doe! I hope you are surrounded in :sunny: today since that just makes the day a whole lot better!

Wow! You are doing a lot of packing - but isn't vacationing fun? Have a great time, and Todd is right - don't stress! Things can always be bought and replaced!

~Amanda

Hi Doreen,
It sounds like you are surrounded by positive thoughts!! I can't believe your trip is almost here. I'm starting to get jealous. It'll be at least another year for me.

No cicadas in these parts yet. I wonder if they're coming here at all. I'll let everyone know if I see any.

I hope your Monday was a good one at work. My first day back after vacation was really hectic, but I got a lot accomplished. Now I have to go back to cooking dinners again after being so spoiled for the week. Yuk!!

Hi Doreen,

I just read your post to my journal. You have nothing to apologize for. I know how much you have on your plate. I do read your journal after all.:p I alos know that you send :goodvibes :goodvibes daily. Please don't stress about how frequently you can post to mine. I am fortunate that my schedule and laptop allow me to WISH frequently. I know you do what you can, and that is a ton.
Please know that you are one of the people I look to for inspiration. And I just said no added pressure.
 and thank you,
Beth
