I'm in training in another building this week - Mon. thru Thurs. I only saw my boss Monday at lunchtime and talked to him. I guess that's what has my anxiety level up. You see, I talked to him and then left for class. I haven't been back to the office or gotten my work email since then. I have no idea how the people above him reacted to my plea for help or what kind of solutions they're throwing around or if they're even talking about it at all. I won't know anything until I get back on Friday and my boss is out Friday, Monday and Tuesday. That means no real answers until next Wednesday, which has me a bit anxious.

A friend had some words of wisdom on the subject of feeling anxious - it's uncomfortable and scary, but it isn't dangerous. This is true. I just have to "ride the wave" as Erin says.

I'm doing my very best to stay on the healthy living track and at least earn MOST of my smilies each day. So far today:
1. :)
2. :)
3. :)
4. 23g + yogurt & cashews (31g) + peanut M&Ms (30g) + bowl of granola cereal (40g) = 124g so far today - no smilie here.
5. no exercise yet but I'll make it happen this evening
6. :)

Doe:

I admire the courage you showed in meeting with your boss and discussing your feelings. By doing this, you have displayed that you trust your boss with your best interests. I pray that he, and those above him, will show that they value you for the great employee you are.

You have had to take on more and more responsibilties on your job. I don't think that your boss would have added these if he didn't think you were the best qualified to tackle these things. The problem is that when more things are added, none are taken from you. Your boss needs to find someone below you for you to mentor and to tackle some of the things you did so well so that you can continue to grow.

My prayers and positive thoughts are with you.

-Laurie :sunny:

Doe, when you have a break in class you need to call your boss and "check-in" see if he can tell ou anything over the phone which may help decrease your anxiety level. There is no sense in being stressed out all weekend and early next week over this. :flower3:  :flower3:

Hey, I agree with Amanda. Call the guy and see if he can give you some of the buzz before he leaves on vacation or whatever he's doing. Any info you have will help, don't you think?

It's a new, :sunny: day, Doreen, and it belongs to you. Take a moment today to feel the presence of all your WISH buddies around you, giving you all the :goodvibes they can. :grouphug:

I finally have access to the internet at my training class!! I've been going crazy, not being able to DIS!

I have a bit of catching up to do. Tuesday I earned smilies for devotions, pills, water and the scale. Yesterday I earned smilies for pills, water, exercise and the scale. That makes 37 smilies and $2 reward money for the month so far.

Today:
1. Devotions - When we teach others about God, we plant seeds that can help to heal the world. (Upper Room online devotional)
2. Pills - I'll take them with breakfast
3. Water - at least 60 oz today.
4. Healthy eating - oh this is getting tough! Why are carby foods so abundant and cheap???
5. Exercise - 20 minutes of stretching and toning. I have a very full day ahead and no time for a walk.
6. Scale - 154

I got a phone call from my boss last night. He reassured me that even though I've been out of the office in training, he and the people above him have met and are discussing several ideas to help lighten my load at work. I thank God often for providing me with such a caring and understanding boss.

I have one last day of training today. I have the depression support group at church this evening. It's a full day for me.

Today is the last day of school for my kids!! It's also the day that DH & DS leave for WDW for a long father-son weekend. They'll be back on Monday afternoon. This will be a girls-only weekend at home with my DD, my puppy and me. :) We've got some retail therapy planned for Saturday, among other things. I see a lot of relax time in my future. :goodvibes

Thank you all for your encouragement. :grouphug: My world would be a much darker place without the light of my WISH friends. :sunny:

:Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc I'm so happy to hear all this news--not only about your boss, but the part of "girls only retail therapy," too! :teeth: It's going to be a good weekend!

And you're almost there! I hope training goes well today and you get some good :goodvibes from your meeting tonight.

Treat yourself right, princess: Doe-doe!

 ,
Erin

I'm glad to hear your boss called you. I'm sure that has made you a bit lighter in your step. I am jealous over Todd and DS's Disney Trip. Tell them to take pictures of the castle if they get over to MK at all :3dglasses

Great job on the exercise - you've been sticking to your goal and that is awesome.

I know what you mean about the carby foods. They are everywhere and relatively cheap. GRRRRR!!! We need to speak to the food manufacturer's about that ;)

So far today
1. :)
2. :) taken w/ breakfast
3. finishing my third of 4 bottles
4. B = yogurt & cashews (31g), L = banana (16g) + crackers (22g), S = sunflower seeds (11g). Total so far = 80g
5. none yet
6. :)

Well, Doreen, you made it to Friday. :Pinkbounc Hooray! :Pinkbounc I hope you have a wonderful and relaxing weekend, WISH-sis!

 ,
Erin

Thank goodness for Friday!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc
I'm really feeling the need for a weekend right about now. The week has seemed exceptionally long.

Yesterday I earned smilies for devotions, pills, water and the scale.
Total so far this month = 41 smilies and $2 reward money. :Pinkbounc
This month has been stressful and it feels good to see those smilies adding up! ::yes:: I AM working at being healthy! YAY ME!! :cheer2:

Today:
1. Devotions - Now I realize that when I fight my daily battles on earth and cannot see past them or deal with them effectively, I can step back and try to look at my life from God's perspective. Then the situation looks different -- sometimes as different as clouds look from above. God knows the overall scheme of things. From God's perspective, the particular battle I am fighting may not be so big after all. (Upper Room online devotional) Boy, these words resonate with me! I feel like I'm in the midst of a very difficult work situation and yet, when I step back and look at it from God's perspective, I realize that it isn't so ominous or scary. It is in God's hands. He loves me and knows what I need.
2. Pills - taken. :)
3. Water - on the first of 4 16oz mugs.
4. Healthy eating - B = lowfat yogurt (BLECH!!!) w/ almonds (15c), the rest of the day will be planned later.
5. Exercise - I need a walk this evening. I'm feeling the need to be outside in the fresh air and to stroll at a leisurely pace. There's nothing on the agenda for the evening except stopping by the store to get some food, so I'll have time to stroll.
6. Scale - well, the first time it said 153 and the second time it said 154 :p

I'm feeling weary and my emotions are very close to the surface. It took a great deal of courage for me to come to work today, knowing that there are things going on behind the scenes, people talking about my situation and how to help me, but no one saying anything directly TO me. But looking at the bigger picture, this will pass. I will be uncomfortable for the next few weeks but I will get through it one day at a time. I will do my best for the next 2 weeks and then I'll have a relaxing week at the beach to recharge.

DH & DS called from Epcot last evening. Their travel went well and they were enjoying a late dinner. It was a relief to know they are safely "home".

Time for me to actually do some work. :grouphug: to all of you!

EDIT: 11 AM
3. Water - just started my 2nd of 4 mugs
4. Healthy eating - 15g + banana (15g) + crackers (22g) = 52g

Let's see. As of Friday morning I earned 41 smilies & $2 reward money.
On Friday I earned smilies for devotions, pills and scale, which makes 44 smilies.
On Saturday I earned smilies for pills, exercise and the scale (154), which makes 47 smilies.
On Sunday I earned smilies for pills and the scale (155), which makes 49 smilies.

My weekend was off plan in a million ways. Saturday was retail therapy - found clothes & a bathing suit for DD and a skort and a pair of capris for me. :) Sunday was a lazy day but DD & I did make it out to the store for groceries.

Last night I crashed and I am at home today. I'm hanging in there, anxiously waiting for my doctor's appointment on Friday evening. In the meantime, I'll do the best I can, and that means getting back to business.

1. Devotions - God hears and understands our sorrows and joys when we pour out our hearts in prayer. (Upper Room online devotional) These are wise words today and they remind me to spend time in prayer, especially when life feels hard. :)
2. Pills - took my meds but still need to take my vitamin with lunch.
3. Water - I'd better get started!
4. Healthy eating - B = yogurt w/ walnuts (32g), there's more healthy stuff here at home so I'm going to try to eat healthy today.
5. Exercise - I must make this a priority. It's hot & humid so I'd better do stretching and toning indoors.
6. Scale - 156, reflecting my weekend filled with too much of the wrong kind of food. :(

:sunny: Good morning, Doreen. I'm thinking about you, WISH-sis. :sunny:

Love,
Erin

Hi Dor,

I'm finally getting to check in on all of DisWish girls - hope the rest of your week is a great one.

Jodi

Here's a  for your Tuesday, Doreen.

Thinking of you,
Erin

I earned smilies yesterday for devotions, water, exercise and the scale. Total for the month is now 53 smilies and $2 reward money.

I spent yesterday resting. DH & DS got home yesterday afternoon from their Star Wars weekend Disney trip. They had a good time in spite of the rain. We went out for dinner and then DH & I walked for 40 minutes.

Today I'm at work. :( I'm feeling very blue. I know today will be a tough one for me and the rest of the week won't be easy, but I've got to get through the tough time in order to lighten my load at work and feel less stressed. I'm doing my best to keep my chin up in spite of the knots in my stomach and the high level of anxiety I feel. I can get through this. I am stronger than I know. I have my medal from the OC half marathon on my desk and I'm praying constantly for God's presence and strength to carry me through.

1. Devotions - "I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." -Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) I will keep my faith and hope in God. He will carry me through.
2. Pills - will take them with breakfast
3. Water - 4 16oz mugs, I've started on the first one
4. Healthy eating - This has been so tough for me lately, because of my emotional situation right now, but I refuse to give up. I seriously doubt I'll meet my smilie goal of <100g carbs. I will try for no chocolate today.
5. Exercise - I know I need it. The 40 minute walk last night felt so good. Maybe DH & I will have time for a quick walk after our meeting this evening.
6. Scale - 156 :( Oh how I wish I had a magic wand to wave to make this better. :p

It will be a very stressful work day today. DH & I have a meeting this evening to attend. Somewhere in between we'll have to find dinner and spend some time with the kids. I'll put one foot in front of the other and I'll make it through.

EDIT: 10 AM
4. B = pear (21g) & a pack of crackers (22g) = 43g

EDIT: 11:45 AM
2. Meds & vitamin taken :)
3. Finished first mug - on to mug 2
4. L will be veggie beef soup (26g) and a banana (16g), S will be yogurt w/ almonds (31g). That will bring the total to 116g.

EDIT: the next morning
1. :)
2. :)
3. :)
4. When I got home I had a few Tostitos with lots of salsa - definitely a moderate portion size. Dinner was a steak sandwich. There was no binging and no snacking and no chocolate. I was over my carb limit so no smilie but I'm happy with my choices.
5. No exercise
6. :)

You know what? I'm going to go for a "no chocolate" day, too, unless you say we can have s.free chocolate. It's your challenge, so you make up the rules. Let me know, OK?

Erin
