Doorway to Dreams Saturday 10 am

We were sitting right in front of you guys today at the event (and I think right behind Carol!). You and your DH were so funny. You were just CRACKING UP when they called your DH out for being the bday boy! We all had a great time too. Tink was so adorable. The dancing was a great idea too. I even thought Wish Meister was pretty darn funny!

Oh, and we are the family that won the RCI trip. Thanks for the congrats. We were SO, SO excited abt it. ANd our kids freaked out to when we went to pick them up at the kids room. But when we got home and went to the RCI website to check out the possibilities, there were extremely few options. And we're talking Canada in December options (I'm not kidding abt that either!). I don't want to sound completely ungrateful, but we were really excited to win (as you saw! My DH literally LEAPT out of his chair and spilled water all over:rotfl: !), but then to see what's actually available as the prize was really disappointing. My DH says we just need to keep looking and checking everyday and see if anything decent opens up, but I feel a little scammed. SInce it's RCI though and not necessarily Disney who is providing the trip, I have a sinking feeling it's going to end up being a big disppointment.

what a small world. it is way cool to actually see people in person that use these boards. :cool1: your 2 kids were so cute in there costumes. my dh thought your husbands reaction was great. he would have done the same thing:) he kept saying on the ride home, how he couldn't believe i told them it was his birthday.he found out when we checked in, the one girl said "and today is your birthday, you have to wear this buttom" his face reaction was, like the mastercard commercial, priceless!:yay:
anyway, good luck with booking your trip and have fun:thumbsup2

how long are these incentives in the table for and heard a few others complain about seat location for mary poppins, sick dd held us out sounds like we missed a local disney hold over til our next trip...

our guide said, they were good until today (sunday), but if we changed our mind and emailed her or left her a message and they didn't get to it until monday, then it was still ok.
it was a great time, dh or myself have no complaints. our 2 ds thought the wishmeister was funny.

Oh Yeah!! I was definitely in front of the winners and birthday folks! LOL! Regarding the RCI trip - I know a previous winner from a couple years back was able to book Hawaii for their week. When I stopped at the RCI table before leaving, the woman there did mention how DVC folks can not only consider the selections for DVC but also other RCI selections on their list when trading. I hope you are able to find something that you like. I would go for Hawaii if I was you, lol...never Canada in December! ;)

Oh and I thought the Wishmeister was hysterical! Much more entertaining than previous offers, lol. The quartet was fabulous! Such beautiful singing voices...

John and I attended the 10 am Doorway to Dreams Travel Show this morning and had a fantastic time! I know others have posted about it here on the DIS, but I tell you I ALMOST caved in and bought more points!

I will be honest, I almost caved in. I have been holding out for Grand Californian Villas, but this was soooo tempting! Now if only they had offered those points for GCV.....

Way to be strong & hold out for the GCV so you can join us West Coasters!

We were there Saturday morning also. We had no intention of adding on, and while I think there were some pretty good incentives, I have no desire to add on more MF's. I thought it was pretty informative and entertaining and I liked the giveaways. Although I really didn't need the 400 calorie rrice krispie treat. It was the first time we went to such an event and really just wanted to see what is was about, we live fairly close so it is easy for us.

Hawaii would be beyond my expectations! My first thought was wine country California, but honestly I don't get to too many places. Just nowhere cold!

All of us need to wear big signs with our Dis names on them so we can find each other at the next event!!! We've been to all of them except the one last Feb. I'm sure we'll go to the next one. It's such a cheap Disney fix! Cheap unless of course we end up buying an add on:eek: ! We were seriously considering it. But then we both decided that we're waiting for the Hawaii property. My DH PROMISED me we would jump all over that.

Tonight they made a big deal about how the were good for the event only - that if you called a WDW based guide tomorrow they would not be valid.

We enjoyed it. My DD was ecstatic about meeting Tink. My DS13 decided to cop an attitude at the minute which was lousy and made my DW uncomfortable through most of the presentation, but it still was fine. No add-on for us at this time, but maybe down the road. We were really looking for SSR for the Treehouses. They did offer the same deals for all 3 - BLT, AKV and SSR, but by no means was that obvious... all the talk seemed to be about BLT until I specifically asked after the presentation. The model was beautiful though, way, way better than the photos I'd previously seen.
