Can you put door magnets on the wall beside your door? We have 2 connecting rooms, so the space between our doors feels like "ours", but of course, it's public space. I know the attendants sometimes store their carts between rooms, as well, so any magnets would have to be up higher.

So... stick to decorating my door or venture onto the wallspace beyond?

Thoughts?

Door only. On the walls they are much more susceptible to accidental contact that could dislodge them.

Imo guests should stick to decorating the door only.

I created a zip line of Disney characters that went from my son's door to his daughter's...door to adjoining door. While we looked at ceiling metal cross pieces, we did not want to mess with the Magic's innerds, and passed on that idea. I have seen several complete door photo magnets that make it look like some/one(s) already in your room...can't decide if that is super cool or creepy or both. They are fun!!!!

We set up a "photo booth" between our connecting rooms. We used cheap plastic table cloths and changed it out every couple days. We had photo props with magnets so they could hang around the outside of the frame when not in use. Our stateroom host said it was no issue at all to have it between the rooms. We had LOTS of cast members coming by all hours of the day to take photos. It was really fun!

I remember reading about your photo booth. Cool idea.

Was your zip line magnets along a line or actually stringed up between the rooms?

Are the walls between the doors metal? Only once have seen the walls decorated between doors.

I’ve seen some decorations between doors of connecting rooms before. Although if we all start going overboard, Disney might ban the whole thing. lol

That's what I've been thinking. I've seen photos of some cool doors, but increasingly I've seen more 3D stuff (stuff sticking out into the hallway) and magnets between the doors and I'm just hoping that they don't ban magnets altogether.

While the wall might be metal underneath, I believe most of the walls in the hallways are wood veneered, so magnets might scratch the wood or could even mar the surface, which is probably why DCL won't allow them to be used there. At least I think that is the reasoning.

But people said they have used magnets there with no problem.:confused3

Walls being magnetic on the walls may depend on the ship. My recent experience is that they were on Fantasy and my magnets did overflow from my door to the wall a bit. But walls definitely were not magnetic on the Wonder (deck 2 forward).

Ah, yes. That's a good point. We will be on the Fantasy. I forgot to mention that. Also, good to know that the classics don't have metal walls.
