Hello all!

I was wondering if people decroate their DVC room door for Christmas or if it is even allowed?

One the cruise - some of the doors looked adorable. I just wondered if we could put a Happy Holiday sign up or if it was frowned upon or against fire codes or anything...

Thanks! :goodvibes

We went a few years ago for Christmas....we were in 5 different rooms and I hung those Christmas cutouts you can find in the party store (very inexpensive) on everyone's door so we could easily find each other. And since they were so cheap, I didn't have to worry if someone took them (but no one did)!! Just used a little piece of masking tape.

Someone had done that a few years ago while we were at the BCV (including lights on their deck) and I gotta tell ya, every single time we passed the deck or walked past their door on our way to our room, it brought a smile to our face. Go for it!!!!

I'm not sure how long you have lived in New England, but I am actually shocked that after the Providence College residence hall fire in 1977 that ANYONE would even consider putting up Christmas decorations on a door in a connected living environment. I was in college at the time and get scared every time I see decorations in any inside hallway.

Would the cool LED lights be ok?

That's certainly better on the light end, but the issue is having anything flammable on doors (paper in particular). Once the fire started in the residence hall it traveled almost instantaneously down the hall through the Xmas decorations on the doors and along the hall. I am probably overly paranoid having lived through a time where this was very much on our minds, but it can never hurt to be cautious.
