Door County, WI information please

I asked about this a few months ago. I tried to do a search, but it is disabled.

We are going to go there this summer for vacation. I am looking for a cottage/house to rent on a lake with a good beach. Would like to walk out the front door and be on the lake. We also have a boat we would like to bring.

I would like to be close to a town for shopping, eating, etc.

Any advice as far a specific towns, beaches, rental places that are the best? Any places to definitely avoid?

Hi Jenn Lynn!

Door County is a wonderful place, we load up the van with DD and the dogs every summer and away we go! In the past, we have stayed in Egg Harbor, our favorite place, but we also love Fish Creek. We like the "Bay" side of the Penninsula, the weather is better and the water is warmer, but the whole area is really beautiful. This year, we are looking for a new house and may end up in Sturgeon's Bay, our options are somewhat limited because of the dogs. Here are some links I have used in the past and have found helpful.
