Have a Dooney now, but am ready for a new purse. What is the big attraction to the Vera's? I know they are cheaper, but do they hold up as long?

Are you looking for a Disney-themed Dooney/Vera or just a new purse in general?

I've got multiple bags and love them each for a different reason:

Dooney and Burke - Love the Disney patterns (my Princess one is by far my favorite). Great quality as well.

Vera - Have a Hipster (that IMO is the best Theme Park bag) and different 'travel' bags. I like them because they are super easy to clean and can hold a ton! I was VERY skeptical of Vera Bradley at first (won't lie, thought they were tacky, over-price Grandma's couch quilt bags) but broke down and purchased the Hipster solely for the Parks. Was shocked how much I could easily cram into it and loved it so much that I purchased more items (the Grand Traveler, Large Duffel, ect).
Though I will say, I cannot see myself purchasing a Vera bag for an everyday purse - I just can't imagine my bright pink paisley or bright Mickey bag working with many outfits.

Another brand to consider (if you're looking for just your 'normal' purse) is Coach - If I had to choose between the three (with Disney design NOT being a factor) hands down I'd choose Coach (at least that's this girl's opinion). All of mine have never had an issue with quality and I use them all the time. I also love the selection in terms of design, pattern, material, ect.

For any of the three, if you're able to go to an outlet, I'd highly recommend purchasing there. I've score crazy good deals on all three brands at their outlets.

Hopefully that gives a little help :)

I am not a girl that has to have an expensive purse. In fact, I only bought the Dooney because it was Disney and I do use it daily for the last 2 years. I have the same opinion of the Vera's (grandma's purse). Just not sure if I'm missing something since they seem to be so popular. I definitely would only purchase a Disney one though.

As a mom I enjoy my Vera because of all the pockets! It's also washable and I love the patterns and pretty colors. I like the D&B as well but I think for my life style and how much stuff I put in my bags daily the Vera's work best for me! The disney ones are adorable I cannot wait to get mine! I have a hipster, a duffle, a cross body, and a wallet which I love too!!

If you're looking for a Disney bag...you could also consider the various Disney Le Sportsac bags. The IASW lines have been my faves, but there are also some Mickey/Minnie ones. They have lots of compartments like the Vera bags, but are much more durable IMO. I also tend to prefer the patterns.

Still, I do have a Disney Dooney and I'd like another. If it were between the Dooney and the Vera, the Dooney would win for me. Just personal preferences I guess.

Harveys's Seatbelt Bags also make Disney bags. They are heavier than some of the others and not inexpensive but very nice. And made in the USA. They sell them at some on the shops in the parks and DTD and also online. Harvey's clutch bags are great for travel and to wear in the parks. And so pretty!

Love my Vera Bradley! I didn't really love them until I got my first and now I am hooked! What I love is they are lightweight, washable, have lots of pockets and easy to fill. The right side of me doesn't work well, so I needed something lightweight that didn't hurt my shoulders, Its great!

Lesportsac, all the way. They currently have a Tinkerbell and a Minnie Mouse line. I really miss their Small World bags as those were really amazing. My DD has a Small World purse and tote and I have two makeup bags collected from various sales on that line.

My favorites are Harveys Seatbelt Bags and Coach leather bags. Harveys has done a bunch of Disney patterns over the years. I have their Sleeping beauty bag, Nightmare Before Christmas, and leopard Minnie Mouse.

Another vote for Vera Bradley here! :) I'm 29 so I hope I don't look too much like a grandma carrying mine, haha! I do agree that some of the patterns look too old fashioned though. #1 thing I love about mine is how light weight it is. I stuff enough crap in my purse to weigh it down and if I start with a heavy purse and then fill it, my back and shoulders are worn out from carrying it around! #2 thing is how well they wash up. I'm not particularly gentle with mine and my first one has held up for two years and still looks good.

Us Brits swear by Kipling. The bags are weightless, most have cross-body straps (which is vital for me), and some of them are mini Tardises (ie hold tons).

The Vera Bradley bags I saw at the outlets were a lot heavier than the Kipling bags - plus they're not waterproof!

I have a Disney Dooney - sketch tassel purse - I've used it daily for almost 3 years and I still love it. I don't carry a ton in my purse, though - wallet, checkbook, keys, pen, phone. I get tons of compliments on my purse.

My sister loves VB and has carried one for at least 5-6 years. She wore one out after about 3 years and bought another. She loves how light it is and how much she can carry. She carries way more in her purse than I do (and her kids are grown, so it's not like she's carrying kid supplies).

Before my Disney Dooney, I had never owned a designer purse. I am way more likely to buy one at Kohl's for $30. But I just love carrying Mickey with me everywhere and my tassel bag is the perfect size for me. I also have a Disney Dooney letter-carrier bag in one of the very first designs, the "tonal" Mickey. I carry that in the parks (with a little VB insert for my ID and a couple of dollars) and get lots of compliments on that too.
