Dooney & Bourke Haunted Mansion Bag

Just in case any one is in Epcot today mouse gears had the purse, the cm told me they had six this morning, I was able to buy one. :)

I am jealous!! I was hoping they would have some next week but if they have released them this week I think it's doubtful.

WTH I justed called The Merchandise Services phone number and they are saying they still never received the shipment! LIARS!!!:stir:

Here's a good question and the answer may well be why they really aren't too concerned over only making so little at a time.

At what point will everyone that is waiting to purchase the bag just say forget about it and move on to something else?

Really that is the key. They keep the buzz going and only build a few at a time to make sure they don't overstock. If there are 10,000 people out there that would have dropped $400 on the bag that now just stop waiting and spend the $$ elsewhere maybe someone in merchandising or at D&B will sit hop and notice and next time they'll plan a little better. I for one will not be purchasing this for my wife, she has chosen an alternate gift. Good luck to those still waiting.

Even Sony (playStation 4) and Microsoft (XBox) have learned their lesson and you can walk into the stores and pick up the machine for Christmas or order on line. No more shortages that may potentially lose customers and $$.

I for one have given up!

I saw a Minnie Bow on disneystore.com very recently. Not sure what size you wanted, but worth a look. :)

i don't blame them for only making a few, though it is kinda annoying. With how people are buying them and then jacking up the price, I can see Disney's hesitation. It sucks that people who would buy and use them cant get them but that people who bought just for the intent of reselling and making a profit have them. Almost wish that Disney would make them sign a disclosure saying that if they resell they will be sued or not allowed to purchase items such as this again. BAN THEM!

Amen to That!!!!!:thumbsup2

Ummmm. Hello? Capitalism? Laws of supply and demand? Kind of what the US business model is built on?

Limiting stock ensures complete sell out and no merch sitting idle on a shelf. What it's value is on The 2ndary market is not disneys care.

Over production devalues the line and make the item less desirable.

Wow, I check the disneystore.com website basically weekly and had no idea this existed! I'm going to WDW early January and will definitely check everywhere for it, but count me in as another person who would have bought it right away if it was available.

So I called Disney Merchandise Services last week and I was told the shipment on December 5th was the last shipment of the bags to the parks. The Online store is still waiting for theirs but if you still desperately want that bag I would start looking into eBay..... I was also told by the cast member that supposedly next year they will be coming out with 2 new bags with the same print but who knows what size or style.:confused3

$600+ for a bag, to me is insane to pay. Especially know that the person only bought it to resell. Id rather wait and see what they give for the second round.

We were in Epcot on Sunday the 8th - we had a 9am FP+ at Soaring and a 10am one at Test Track... so to kill time after Soaring we stopped into Mouse Gears. HOLY LUCKY DAY - they had one of the bags. I snapped it up so quickly that my husband's head spun, and the cast member who checked us out told me that she'd never seen one before, that they usually go as quickly as they're put out.

I guess my tip would be to check Mouse Gears. I kept an eye out at every other store on property that carried D&B bags and never saw another one. (I told my husband what they were going for on Ebay and he suggested we fund our flight home... no way! I love the bag...)

If Disney made enough to satisfy demand, there would be no secondary market to jack up the prices. Why don't you blame them. Disney could have charged anything they wanted and the demand would be there. By limiting production, Disney has created a secondary market and has lost out on potential revenue. Not sure why you say you don't blame them.

Limiting stock certainly prevents merchandise from sitting on the shelf, but I think you are a little off here. There are so many people that want to pay over $300 for a bag that can't get one. Disney is not pricing the bag based on supply and demand. The price is what it is. They didn't raise the price when they shortened the supply. They could have sold 10x what they produced at the same price. So while you are correct that they can do what they want. I think it is pretty certain they dropped the ball on this one.

I have been watching for this bag since they announced it. My wife would love to have a Dooney Bourke but would never pay the price. When I saw this one, I decided to take the leap and get it for her for Christmas. The Haunted Mansion is her favorite ride and the bag is representative of that but not overly Disney so it could be carried anywhere.

Unfortunately, I have not been able to get one. But, if Disney, or Dooney Bourke, was counting on me just going ahead and handing over my money to either of them for something else, they were mistaken. The $300.00 dollars will be spent somewhere else. So, they loose. My wife was never aware of the bag, so there won't be any disappointment, and, I will be just as happy to buy her an alternate gift, somewhere else.

Available online RIGHT NOW! Limit 1 per order. Good luck to all.

I just got mine too! I just happened to be awake, I'm sick with the flu, and I was checking the website and there it was. I jumped out of bed to get the credit card and hurried to check out before it disappears. When I climbed back in bed all DH said was "let me guess, your purse was available" I just laughed and said YES FINALLY!

A tip for those who are looking for it. It only shows up on the full site, not the mobile and it only shows if you search for the item number 7501055880089P At least for me I couldn't find it any other way. Happy shopping!
