Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 4

A few pages back I posted that I ordered my first dooney, the comic strip satchel, and that the zipper stuck and I wasn't wild about the placement. So I called disneystore and told them about the sticky zipper and I was told UPS would come pick it up in 3 to 5 days. A week later when they still had not come, I called again. This woman was apologetic and told me she would immediately email a return lable to print up myself. Two days later I still had not received that and so I called again. This lady told me the other lady had no idea what she was talking about and that an emailed label also takes 3 to 5 days. At this point I voiced my frustration that this was taking quite awhile and that I was worried they would be out of stock on the bag by the time it made it back to them. She assures me there are plenty in stock and I wait 3 more days for the label. I finally get the email and send the bag back. So today the bag made it back to disney and guess what?? It is now out of stock on the online!! What a frustrating experience. So there is my update, no dooney for me I guess.

That is terrible they need to get their act together. I am so sorry. Hopefully they will get them soon

I can't decide if I should go ahead and buy my wristlet now or wait until I get there?! I am so impatient! Any good deals on disney online?

When i bought mine.. I waited and I was so worried they would not have any and fretted over it. But I have to tell you that the process I went through of looking for the perfect bag was both frustrating and fun. I bought one on the second day and exchanged it on the forth, for a more perfect placement.

I bought my daughter a crossbody sketch purse for Christmas (in turquoise). Do they still carry these bags in the parks? If so, is there a matching wallet? I would like to get it for her when we go in May. It doesn't have to be turquoise...she would just be happy to get something to match.

Also, do they carry the Comic Strip pattern in the parks? I am planning to buy one for myself this summer (says the recovering Coach addict...LOL).

They are still selling the colored sketch crossbody in the parks. But there is no matching wallet. Disney store online does sell a credit card holder in the yellow sketch pattern ($15)with the purchase of another dooney. Comic pattern is also available at the parks.

I received an email this morning with a link to a survey for the Tinker Bell Half Marathon.

I made sure to let them know that we want the Tink D&B to be produced and how dissapointed we all were that they had so few.

Me too on the new pattern request... I know they just release the Cruise Line patterns, but I am not going to be on a cruise in the near future. Would love to see something new at the parks! I never got into several of the recent patterns and am always watching for a new one.

Meanwhile I'm thinking of buying a new non-Disney Dooney ... one of the florentine leather ones (expensive, but I'm thinking of this as one of those classic bags you keep for a long time). We'll see if I break down and go for it...

Anyone who is into Dooney in general, they are having a Dooney show on QVC this Saturday 3/24 midnight-2am, again at 2-4pm, and again at 8-10pm (eastern time). I think it's fun/informative to tune in and check out the styles/sizes in action on the models. Of course, I have never seen Disney Dooney on QVC, so don't expect any Disney bags!!

I would also love a new pattern, especially a princess purse. I love the old princess purse pattern (on the princess pouchette). I wish they would make something like that but with a longer strap so that it would be a comfortable shoulder bag.

Also, I have the yellow Disney Sketch credit card holder, and I was excited to discover recently that I can put a tiny lip gloss, my ID, 2 credit cards, and nail clippers in it and use the key ring on the back of it to loop it through my belt loop so that I don't have to carry a purse when I walk up the street to get ice cream/ custard! Very convenient...It is also the perfect size to fit in the cross body sketch bag.

The problem is they generally only have a few of each style bag on display, the rest are still wrapped up in the back. So in reality there could be tons of stock, you just can't get to it.

What I wouldn't give to have access to all the stock rooms so I could search through every bag they have looking for the ones with perfect placement.

A couple weeks ago I was in Mousegears, checking out the selection, and a cm came over to check the bags that were on display. She opened a long shallow drawer underneath the display and I saw dozens of colored sketch wristlets, still in individual clear plastic bags. She looked to see if she should restock any colors then opened another drawer where there were a handful of colored sketch cross bodies. Then a customer needed help with something and I resisted the (very strong) urge to beg to paw through all those wristlets to find one with perfect placement!

I didn't see all the colors but blue was on top and there were maybe ten of them. I think there were some green underneath. One thing I did notice - there were no purple wristlets or cross bodies anywhere. Also many of the sketch wristlets that were out didn't have great placement, it only makes sense that they'd get picked over.

Anyway, just wanted to agree that I'd love to have access to the stockroom too!

Hi..page 1 of this thread has the info you are looking for. World of Disney at downtown disney and the jewelry store at MK usually have a very nice selection of disney dooneys.

Agreed - also check TrenD's (sp) at DTD - they do not offer any discounts (AP, etc) but some times have bags what the other stores do not - especially when new designs come out

I have also used my visa discount at Tren-D and WOD as long as the purchase is for over $50 and you also have to remind the CMs to apply it.

Was hoping my girls could talk my DH into getting it for me for Mothers day. Well they didn't even have to! Went to Uptown jewelers in MK to see them and he knew how much I wanted to have one. So I finally got one!!! Best news is he refused to wait until Mothers Day to give it to me and I unwrapped it as soon as we got home last Sunday.

So now I know this is a true addiction because when we got home Monday. I ordered a cross body sketch! (Well they are on sale!) So I am going to wrap that up for Mothers Day. lol. I am officially addicted.
