Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 4

On a side note, I was very surprised by how many CMs didn't know about placement. A few times when I asked to see multiple sketch totes behind the counter I got the strangest looks and was told they were the same thing.

No, they are not the same thing!!! Man, they are killing me!

My first Disney D & B was a Wonder barrel bag. They only had the wonders and the sketch tassle bag available when I was at WDW that year. I didn't like the tassle at all and ended up going with the barrel since I wanted something that zipped and had a lining. It was a quiet afternoon at the Main Street jewelry store as my dd and I carefully looked over each bag to find one with a bigger Mickey in orange and then made sure the zippers worked properly. The cm was so nice as I make a little fun of myself going through each and every purse. She told me that if I was going to spend that kind of money on a bag, I should get the one that I liked best. I guess she was a kindred spirit as Anne Shirley would say.

can anyone tell me if the wristlet can hold an iphone? I own only 1 disney dooney, and I'm still using it! Its is the pink pouchette with green minnie mouse faces all over it I am going April11th and am interested in maybe getting a wristlet if it could hold my iphone, park passes, room keys, and some cash.

Yes, I've used mine to hold exactly that... and even a chapstick or lip gloss.

Ya know, I'm totally NOT a designer purse type of person... But fell in love with the Disney Dooneys. Got my sketch tassel and wristlet on my March 2010 trip. Then went back in July 2010 and found the purple sketch cross-body and HAD to have it. Then the brown cross-body was on sale on the DS.com site, offering the $15 cosmetic bag with purchase (balloons), so I had to have those. Then of course had to have the 40th anniversary one.

They're like freaking Lays potato chips... definitely cannot stop at just one!!

Was just coming to post the same thing! And i thougt they weren't going to have Fantasy bags since they weren't announced with the other Fantasy merchandise! The striped bags are nice since they don't necessarily scream Disney Cruise line since I have never been on a cruise.

I don't care much for the Fantasy bag, which is good since I am probably going to cancel my Fantasy ressie for next year. I do like the stripe though, will that one come in other sizes?

My girls fell in love with the Disney Sketch Crossbody on our recent cruise and I have been watching for a good sale so I can surprise them this summer. I checked today and noticed that the online store is out of stock of the blue one...is this a retired style, or will it be restocked? Just trying to decide if I should wait it out, or pay over retail on ebay These will be their first 'nice' purses, so I don't want to compromise on color.

I think the different colors come and go. I'm waiting for purple to come back in stock. It was there a few weeks ago and I waited and it sold out. I would keep checking. I check for the purple multiple times a day! Maybe someone else here knows more?

If you can't, I understand. From what someone else said though doesn't seem as if there are many Cindy sketches to be had. Maybe they got new inventory in. Have a great trip!

I can fit my iPhone (along with the Otterbox Defender series case it's in) inside my wristlet along with chapstick and a Vera Bradley id case.

I was told by a CM that they are not making the 55th Anniversary print ones any more so once they are gone, they're gone.
He also said no plans on making the Tink ones.

I'm actually surprised the 55th pattern has been around as long as it has; although they must either be getting a few random shipments in, or they occasionally find misplaced stock in the back.

My reasoning: I see a bucket bag on the shelf and when I was on a search for one just a few weeks ago there wasn't a single bucket bag to be found anywhere. I've also seen more letter carriers with leather trim on the pocket recently than you would expect just from returns, and that design change was made ages ago.

I'm still holding out hope that the CM you talked to was wrong about the Tink bags. But I admit the more time that passes, the more concerned I am he's right. Not very smart of the powers that be at Disney and D&B if you ask me, but what do I know? I assume whatever happens with the Think bags will also be true of the Princess bags.

Did you bring a really good rain jacket for the parks this weekend?
DD is involved in a competition at the convention center and I just stayed warn and dry inside all day yesterday and didn't even venture into the parks. We'll see what today brings.

I have always wanted one of the 55th bags, but I did not want to spend that much on one... I have only been to Disneyland once and that was 24 years ago.

I go to WDW at least once a year, so I got the anniversary edition of the WDW bag, but I really like the 55th... Oh well. maybe I can find one!

for reference, that is an Uncommon brand case on my phone...it's not very thick but not super thin either.

Ok I'm a total idiot! I have the Original Sketch Wristlet and now the white Minnie Bow Wristlet (among quite a few other dooney's) and NEVER knew there was a pocket on the back of either of my wristlets....WOW! Thanks, lol
