Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 4

Decisions, decisions! I'm heading to WDW on Wednesday and had thought I'd need to wait until then to buy a Comics bag. But the pink barrel is the one I'd had my eye on, and now it's 25% off online . . . where I can't pick placement. But with the Comic print I'm not sure how important placement is to me.

Plus of course if I wait until Wednesday I'll have it in my hands sooner. :)

But are picking the placement and having it sooner really worth $45 to me?

Good thing I have such serious and troublesome problems to ponder. I have a very difficult life, as I'm sure you can tell. :rotfl: :lmao:

There's a few of the new comic bags on Disneystore.com now - and today 25% off any purchase over $125 for "Magical Monday." Promo code is "MAGICAL" and it works for Dooney. The discounts are staggered today - 10% off $50, 15% off $75 and 20% off $100 (and the above mentioned highest discount.)
Thanks for the heads up! I just ordered the pink barrel bag. :cool1: I want the teal comic wristlet too but I'm hoping to pick that one up in February so that I can pick the placement.

Thanks for the discount code, quirty30~:thumbsup2

I just ordered a pink barrel bag, too, HockeyMom! Also wanted a teal but I can wait.
Have so many black and red purses already. Would've loved a satchel in teal trim though.

Hope you have a great trip!
$45, I'll take the chance on placement, but if you're going to be there, wait!:goodvibes

I have not been here to DisBoards in a long time . . . But way back when I planned a vacation for August 2010 I found the Dooney threads. When we were there I got the tonal bag. Then I picked up the wristlet on sale online. I wanted the bucket 40th Anniversary bag ever since it was posted here and when we went for a 2 day trip to celebrate my own 40th birthday I looked high and low in the park only to come home empty handed.

Last night I was going to just order the larger bag even though it is not really my style but the 25% off code did not work on the Doony bags . . . Imagine my surprise when I saw the new code for the one day sale AND that the bag I have pined over was available I almost cried. I got the messenger bag and the wristlet with 25% off, used $91.51 in Disney Dollars I accrued from using our Disney Visa, went through Upromise for 3% back and my Disney Visa for the balance.

It is a good thing that the comic one online is pink. I am more of a black or tan person. Otherwise I might have gone off the deep end. I did end up placing another order tonight for other items (non-Dooney). I picked up two of the Hanukkah wall baners -- one for us and one to give as a gift to my sister and her family.

I had to share with people who would understand . . . Because everyone else I have told thinks I am nuts.

:dance3:

So thank you all.

I love pink, but I'm not sure about the shade of pink on that particular bag. I almost bought it yesterday with the code, but ultimately decided to wait and see it in person (tomorrow! I'm going to WDW ohmygoshohmygoshohmygosh!), and perhaps either buy one of the Comics bags in person, or wait until more of them are online and pounce on them when there's an applicable code again.

I do notice that the dimensions of the Comic barrel are quite similar to those of the Harvey's Seatbelt Mickey Comics Baquette, which I picked up when it was on sale a while back. I love that Harvey's bag, but I find it a little awkward to carry on my shoulder. So I think I'll want to try the barrel on in person to see how it feels.

Congratulations! I'm going to WDW on saturday to I'm trying hard not to buy anything before we go. Being able to read about everyone else's purchases gives me a similar rush without the buyer's remorse:rotfl:. Post pics when you get them, we love to feed the addiction that way too! Happy Holidays!

Congrats on your purchase! Make sure you post pictures for us! :)

I am not so patiently waiting for my Cyber Monday order to arrive. :rolleyes1 The package is in Mass today, and is supposed to be delivered to me here in NH on Thursday.

Thank you all for your kind words, encouragement and just understanding :)

I will most deffinately take pictures when it comes.

And I meant the messenger bag :thumbsup2

I am so not a bag person but when I read all of these threads I decided this was going to be a splurge. When we went for the 8 night trip back in August of 2010 I stood in the Princes store in MK and held the tonal bag in my hand . . . It was so hard for me to spend that kind of money on myself. I was going to forgo it and get a regular type of bag I also liked -- it had Walt holding Mickeys hand. My husband took the Dooney out of my hand and went up to the cash register and paid for it. He hates that I don't want to splurge on myself.

When we went back for my birthday (4th of July weekend) we only had two days at WDW. We went to MK and DHS. I went in every store and they even called DTD for me . . . But no messenger bags anywhere.

I wonder how long it will take to get here.

Is there a drooling smiley somewhere?

Thank you all again :upsidedow

I got my bag today and I LOVE it! I wasnt expecting much but I it looked alot better than I was hoping for.

There was a blue crossbody listed on e-bay a while back. I think one of the girls here on the disboards might have gotten it.

Yes, you are right, she posted pics. There have been pink ones on ebay a while back, also. My dream is to visit every Disney park in the world:lovestruc

Me too! We are doing DL this May for the first time, and I have promised my DD a trip to DLP before she graduates HS (so I have 6 years).

There was a pink one that ended last night on Ebay. IMO, the placement was the best I've ever seen. Sadly, I didn't get it. :sad1:

My bag went from MA to NH this morning, and now it's only an hour away, but they are still not delivering it until tomorrow.

Such torture! :upsidedow

Just had to share...

I am in the Denver airport and I have my large sketch with me, three different people stopped my to tell me that they loved my bag. :goodvibes
