Dooney & Bourke Disney collaboration ~ part 3

Now I have the Bucket bag and I do think it's a much better size and style for me; but to be honest, I haven't used it yet either.
I've been waiting to see if the other style DL55 bag they had posted on the website for awhile ever comes out. I'm beginning to think it won't though, especially since they've removed it from the website. Maybe I should go ahead and take the tags off the Bucket bag and actually use it one of these days. Ya think?

Are you talking about the 55th bag that looked like the white balloon Colette?? I saw that on one of your photos tonight and absolutely love it I so wish they would do that in the 40th anniversary print That would be beyond perfect Where did you find that picture??

So is the Kristin not a shoulder bag? I thought I saw a photo a few posts back.

The handles are pretty short, and if you look at the pictures you'll notice that the top arcs up. I found that I had to bend the sides in toward each other and flatten them out a bit in order to make it comfortable enough to wear over my shoulder. That worked, but it's also pretty big, so I was afraid I'd be knocking into people and things right and left if I wore it over my shoulder. I really think it works better in the crook of your arm or just holding the handles. But that's just me.

There are two good Mickey's on the side of the bag that shows on the website. If the other side doesn't have any kind of pocket on it, there's a good chance there would be good placement on the other side. Does anyone know if there is a pocket on the other side?

It is a really big bag, so I'm sure you'd get at least one of everything you want somewhere on your bag. It's just a matter of whether you're picky about how things are centered or if they're cut off or not. Unlike the picture in this thread, all of the ones I've seen in person have the leather Dooney & Bourke logo tag on one side and the pocket on the other side. So with that design you could conceivably end up with stuff cut off in odd places on both sides of your bag. I hope that makes sense.

FWIW, I'm pretty sure both Liza and I are pickier than most folks about placement, so if it's not that big of a deal to you, pay no attention to us and our placement issues, right Liza?

Yep, that's the one.

It showed up on the Disney shopping site along with the Bucket bag, but it wasn't there very long before they removed it. I've never seen it in the parks, and a CM showed me his stock book with all the D&B pictures and skew numbers the other day, and it wasn't listed there either.

Unfortunately I'm thinking they didn't actually make that one, and putting it on the website was another Disney goof. It's too bad because I really like the size and shape of that one too. Oh well, I guess having fewer options makes choosing easier.

Maybe that's another bag they only ordered 12 of and removed it right after they sold out!

You're not alone! I had never bought an expensive purse before and I'm a little embarrassed to say how many I bought in a year. This thread is addicting too, we are enablers.

I agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee. I have three now and cant wait to get the 40th anniversary one.... Only problem is that I LOVE the 55th bucket bag and the 40th Anniversary one looks just like it to me...... Im gonna have to get a different one..... hahahaha....I must be nuts!! Know what's funny? Has anyone else noticed that whenever a bag is mentioned on this thread, it starts showing up at the top of the "bags and totes" section on disneystore.com? I noticed that with the Kristn DL 55th when everyone wanted to know what that looked like and now I just went on to see what the Mickey ballon "Collette" looked like since it was mentioned and now that's at the top of the page!

I think that the most viewed bags go up to the top and I think WE are causing that to happen!! Haha!

I will definitely post pics once it arrives! I am nervous about the placement but I think it will be okay. Friend said it was the last one in MouseGear which makes me worry that it may have been a return since it was after someone here reported MouseGear had sold out.

I think they probably just put a few out at a time. Supply and demand and all that stuff! If people THINK it's the last one they'll scoop something up quicker than if they know there are a ton of them and that they have plenty of time to think about it and decide.

That's definitely a possibility. My friend said they took the one from the display and when he asked if there were others so he could compare, they actually went and checked and said there weren't. But maybe they were lying.

So here's sad but true tale. It's my last day at the park, last Thursday. I carried my Mickey head satchel (don't usually carry my purse in the parks) I make a purchase for my darling 21 y/o son. The cast member comments on my purse and happens to mention the price $220.00 right in front of my husband lol. I did not pay that price but good grief I stuttered. It is the very last time I will ever carry a purse.

Tell me about it! My dh just can't understand why I have 10 Disney D & B purses and that's not counting my wristlet or dd's purse. I just tell him to go play with his boat, 4 wheeler or his hunting and fishing gear.

He can't believe that I am now on the hunt for the 40th anniversary bag. He'll get over it!

In my defense, I have gotten really good deals on many of my bags.

This is my favorite bag so far. I have the white Sketch and the Princess Satchel. I am worried that the sketch is yellowing. I really never liked the Satchel because even though the zipper is gorgeous it is annoying in that it is a pain in the butt to get to my stuff...and the whole bag is just a little on the small side for me.

This Bucket Bag is the greatest!!! (for me)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for the pictures of the bucket bag It looks pretty roomy like my Wonder Tote which I absolutely love For me it is a perfect size as I have my cosmetic bag, a Mickey wallet (for now!!) and Wonder wristlet along with a couple of other small items I only do shoulder bags so I think this bucket bag will fit the bill Now if I can only wait until our trip the end of April Still pulling for a 40th anniversary wallet
