Hello to everyone. I have been avoiding looking at these post for almost a year. I knew the moment I did the obsession would begin. I have spent the last few days reading through and looking at everyone's collection. They are all gorgeous. Thank you all for posting such great pics. We will be at Disney World in late July and I hope to buy a 40th. I have been looking at ebay too because I want to go ahead and get a sketch now - it was recently my birthday and I am treating myself. I saw a picture from someones collection that I really liked. I did some research and discovered it was the Faces of Mickey satchel but I cannot find anywhere to purchase. Does anybody have any ideas? I just fell in love with it. Perhaps it is just too late and my delay at reading this forum will now haunt me forever. I look forward to continue reading all your posts and seeing your beautiful pics - and hope to have a collection of my own to post one day too!!

Here is the info that I got from the seller of the Minnie Faces Erica that I bought on ebay yesterday... she got it at TJMaxx!!

Hi! Thanks so much for your purchase.

This particular purse was purchased at a TJ Maxx in North Andover, MA (just outside of Boston).

While this particular fabric was used on some Dooney's that were sold at the parks (I believe they produced a Pouch style and a Domed Satchel) the Large Erica was not sold in the parks as far as I know.

This is what Dooney refers to as an "Exclusive". Dooney produces Exclusives normally for two reasons: 1) It's a prototype 2) A major retailer commissions Dooney to produce a style only sold in their stores.

This purse falls into #2. TJX Companies (the owners of TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Homegoods, & AJ Wright) quite often commission Dooney to produce purses that were never full production. They will often be fabrics from collections that were available, but in styles or trims that were not. Nordstrom also does this quite often (though they generally have a "style" produced in a current collection that's not available anywhere else). Macy's also had Dooney produce a special print and collection of purses to celebrate their 150th parade.

If you happen to live close to a TJ Maxx or Marshall's and like unique Dooney's about twice a year they bring in the Exclusives (normally in the Spring and in the late Fall).

I do shop at quite a few stores in the Boston area, and this was the only purse I found like this. It's a really nice size and I loved the Minnie print. I seriously considered keeping it for myself, and I do hope it's a good addition to your collection.

I stopped by my local store this afternoon too. They had some cute Dooney's but no Minnie ones. They did have some really cute Mickey luggage though!

I love the luggage, but it's hard sided. That means I can't stuff it as full with my souveniers as my soft sided luggage.

I may take the small one back. I'm keeping the rolling backpack one, although it's small and I'm not sure what I can use it for! My DS (10) likes it, so maybe it will be his carryon!??

I didn't know anything about the Dooney's...so I will have to see if my store carries those!

Those are cute! I have not seen either one here in S.Texas. But, I'll keep checking. Love the one with Minnie
