Dooney & bourke Disney collaboration part 2

I am starting to become jealous of all the DL bags..... Hmmm, my birthday is in just a few weeks. If anyone has an extra messenger or lg wristlet, let me know.

You've been bitten by the disney dooney bug.

I am truly trying my best to hold off on getting a tote, in hopes that they will come out with a WDW exclusive design (the more I look at them the harder it is and I look at them a lot!). I spent my entire childhood going to DL every other year sometimes once a year, so the DL bags have a special meaning to me as that is where I was first introduced to the mouse. My DH is from Florida and loves it there, the first disney trip we took together was at WDW as well, and DH also spends a lot of time in California on business so it doesn't feel as much like a vacation to him to go there, so we take our vacations at WDW these days. I feel like I have a connection to both parks. (that's my justification anyway). Since I'm getting the 55th letter carrier I would love to get the tote in a different design. I've also thought about selling my sketch tassel tote and going with the sketch medium tote. All these dooney decisions.

While I checked back with this site practically every hour to get updates on the Dooney event I dug out some old DL film we transferred a couple of years back. So in honor of the 55th I posted this on YouTube. My dad shot it and the film was not kept at optimal conditions, but it's pretty cool to see some of the attractions that no longer exist and see how the characters have changed.

The first 1/2 is from 1972/73, the second half is from the bicentennial.

I would love to know the dimensions or see someone wearing the messenger style to get an idea of the size. Just curious. I have a Dooney "all weather leather" messenger type bag from about 14 years ago. I wonder if it's the same size?

These are approximate, but here you go:

9 1/2 across
7 1/2 high
3 1/4 wide at the bottom, but tapers to 2 1/4 at the top

Wanted to let you all know there is a seller on ebay right now that is asking a very fair price for the new tote and messenger with FREE shipping!!!!

Yep, the messenger is $277 w/tax, and flat rate priority shipping w/ins is $16, so that auction is not marked up much at all.

I bet the seller has an annual pass; if so she was able to get 10% - 20% off, and that's where she's making a bit of profit on the deal.

But without an AP, I bet you'd pay more than that even if you ordered directly from Disney, because they charge crazy high shipping.

That's how I justified mine.... Used birthday money that was given to me from my parents and I only had to chip in $100 out of my own pocket.

Well, I finally caved! I just returned super late last night and have two pics of my new Dooney! I got it completely free thanks to my Disney Visa points.

I absolutely love the placement on it. I really think it's perfect with Mickey & Minnie dead center. Great find and can't beat the price!

Ohhhh, now there is a good idea! I should start saving up my Visa points. I've got a long way to go though...I was just looking at my account and I only have 11.

Keep your eye on the mail. Im April I got a letter stating if I called and enrolled(for free) I could earn 3% instead of 1% for the following 3 months. They had a catch, the 3% came after you spent $750 each month. So we just paid everything we could on the card. We don't always do it that way. But 3% its worth doing it. And we paid it off each month.

By doing that, I had enough to get a bag with only a little bit of money out of pocket. Its a great way to save for a bag.

I'm so jealous of everyone getting the DL bags. They look so nice, but I've never been to DL so I can't justify getting one. Have only one Disney Dooney and would so love some new styles. Not big into the colored ones just released, but maybe if they came in something bigger. I agree with a previous poster who suggested bags with the four WDW parks represented. Also want to say I agree with the poster who wants to get a bag for her DD15 (I think that was her age). We got our DD15 a wristlet for Valentine's Day when we were there in February. DH didn't have a problem with that. I KNOW she would love one of the colored messengers, but I think DH would kill me! Maybe for Christmas. He couldn't kill me on Christmas, could he?

But I think that is my fav part about the new bags...I love all things disney, but I am a loyal DL girl, so it feels really special to me to have a bag that is only DL. I really really doubt they will sell it at WDW. If you weren't a fan, you'd be like wait, I don't get it, why do they only say disneyland???

That's EXACTLY why I want a WDW one....I'm a loyal WDW girl!

That was me. DD15 is so jealous of my sketch tote, but now she really wants one of the colored ones. Maybe I should try the Christmas trick - they WOULDN'T hurt us on Christmas - right????

I would love a DL bag too, but haven't been there since I was 6......a MIGHTY long time ago. LOL

Hmmmm!! DH just got the $200 disney visa offer, he used it to buy hunting supplies so I could get the $200 rewards, I said I was saving them for our trip next year bbbbuuuttt, he did get all that new hunting stuff that he just haaaad to have.

Just a note to anyone who is shipping via Priority Mail through the Post Office. If you go onto their website & pay for your shipping online, you can save a couple dollars. I think its around $2-4 off the Flat Rate price. And its really simple to create an account through USPS (you just enter your name, address, and email & then create a user name and password for yourself). Then you just enter the address where you're sending it and choose how you're shipping, if you want confirmation or insurance, and hit "pay and send" and print out your shipping label and tape it to your box. Just thought I would share the info to help you guys out! Hope it helps you save a few $$$!

I mostly signed up for the Disney Visa because I got that offer too where you could get $200 aka 200 points. Too bad I used it to put toward my Annual Pass cost! Ohhh well, even though I don't have a D&B (well, I do have the sketch wristlet!!! ) atleast I am going back in a little over two weeks. Maybe between now and then I will win the lottery and I can get one of the bags. I love those new colors!
