Confession time. I only sent the huge pics because I couldn't figure out how to resize them before attaching them to your e-mail. So I guess I'm a dork too. Can I at least be a Disney Dooney Dork?

And I'm heading to the Post Office between basketball and baseball carpools tomorrow.

Whew..I'm out. Bought the most of anyone so far. Got everthing requested, so you are all safe. Boy the bags sure are cute!!! We didn't get out of store until quarter to noon, and had to run into DL to see the special speech and dove release. That was awesome. And they replayed walts speech from opening day. Made me cry, as always.

I am so excited and so grateful!! I am actually waiting with baited breath to get the amount and form of payment you prefer!!! Did they do a 55 year ears giveaway?

OMG OMG OMG...do you guys remember seeing the limited edition of 1955 mouseketeers ears and box (same design as new dooneys)...well, I totally thought they were gone, that is the word on the DL disboards. Well I found some!!!! They had 6 of the total 1955 left, I bought 2!!! Anyone want one?? I'm considering going back...hehehehhee.

Oh my goodness sakes!! Didn't have a clue about the ears and box! If you still have an extra PLEASE add the amount to my bill!!!!! I think that would be such a great thing to have!!

Oh I don't remember someone with golden ears on. Darn. I do remember a women waring the 50th white t-shirt with blue writting on it. It brought back memories. Were you there on July 17, 2005? In line I was chatting with others about the pin relase for that day and how we stood in line for 4-5 hours for a pin that said you were there on that day. Oh the things we do for Disney stuff.

I too wanted one of the CM buttons, but I know they can't give them out. Or at least they aren't suppose too. Some Im sure have. I think they can do what ever with them after the day is over.

I thought the manger did a great job. People get really push at these things. I didn't see anyone being pushy or rude which was nice. Other then reading here about the couple upset about the cometic bag pattern. I can see being disappointed, but if you want something that bad, get up early and stand in the heat. We did! It wasn't fun, but we did it because we wanted it. At one point I almost said this heat is to hot and forget the gwp. Even got a sun burn because I didn't realize how much I was sweating and my sunblock was fading away. lol It happens, not blaming disney for that. Im glad I waited the cosmetic is really cute and fits great in the messenger bag.

I did think it was nice of Dooney or Disney or both to give out cosmetic in a Dooney pattern as gwp. Because they didn't have too. Once the Ann cosmetics were gone, they could have just left it at that.

I loved the 50th celebration and waiting in DCA all night, to wait in line for a pin, for four hours!! Met a lot of wonderful people that night/day!!

Look I'm back. Hahah. Spent all day at the beach and now driving back to the hotel. I'm not thinking that the tote is meant to fit over the shoulder, I think it would feel forced and not stay up. I will play with one in the am and let you know for sure though...

See I'm opposite, I thought looking for placement was totally stressful. Could have been the 50 people behind me in line that I knew were waiting though...haha.

Just had to share this... driving to LAX airport, and low and behold, 2 brand new couches and 2 new chairs just sitting in the middle of the freeway spread out across 4 of the 6 lanes. Crazy!!! That is going to cause some horrible kind of accident.

So NOT good on L.A. freeways!

We won't take offense. Even though we are the original. Just remeber its special for the 55th...so you only have 16 years to wait for that at WDW...hahahah sorry, I couldn't resist. You should know I'm very sarcastic, so don't take offense to that!!

Actually, they may do one next year, as it will be WDWs 40th!!! I bet they will...wonder what it would look like...

I want one!!! Just think, icons of all four parks!! Boats, train, monorail, animals, characters!! That would be awesome also!

SUNNIERN- The 55th celebration was a tad of a let down. I guess you can't compare anything to the 50th, but it wasn't even close. They pretty much had a dedication at noon and sang happy birthday at 4, those two were really cool...but it was like really, that's it. With the fact that they opened in 55 and turned 55 this year, I thought it would be something a little cooler than that. Oh well. And no, no ear give away! BUT you could buy special ones that day for $22... Which of course I did. But I'm like hey where are my free ears??!?!?!?! AHAHAHAHAHAH, oh and you will LOVE your tote, the placement on the 2 I got is AMAZING. The totes had the best placement of everything!!! ANDDDDDD you will love to know that there is a picture of WALT on the front!!!


Okay so seriously, I am looking on ebay at the 55th cosmetic bags. What a bunch of liars, I love how everyone says they are SOLD OUT! They were NEVER SOLD...they were FREE... If people are seriously paying $139 for these, that is just simply crazy... I'll sell mine for $139, geez. That is crazy. okay I probably wouldn't actually because I love it...But I just had to comment, I can't even believe it... Oh well, people are crazy. What do you expect.

I just unloaded all of my Dooneys that I got for everyone, and I about fell over, I didn't quite realize how many there were. They are covering half my guest room bed (it's a queen), but it looks really pretty. HAHAHA I'll try and post a picture tomorrow after work, if I can figure out how to. HAHAHAH. There are something like 13 or 14 bags, I can't remember. I BARELY got them all to fit, I had to get quite creative. But I am home now, and bags are safe. Whew!!!

Okay I gotta get to bed, work first thing tomorrow!! I will get on prices for shipping and bags tomorrow after work for everyone. So has anyone used the flat rate shipping boxes before, and happen to know pricing, so I don't have to go to the post office first just for pricing on my lunch break! I only get 30 mins!!! I will need 3 boxes big enough for totes, and ALOT of small ones for wristlets and letter carriers! Someone must know, please help me, please!!! That way I can give everyone prices, and we can get these all shipped! thanks disney dooney girlies!!!

I would love to know the dimensions or see someone wearing the messenger style to get an idea of the size. Just curious. I have a Dooney "all weather leather" messenger type bag from about 14 years ago. I wonder if it's the same size?

if you ship priority, they have free boxes at the post office. we are probably going to be best off getting the flat rate boxes coz ... "if it fits, it ships!"

Definitely ship flat-rate w/delivery confirmation and insurance. I really do think that would be cheaper than any other option.

Here is the pricing on the flat rate boxes, that will likely be the best way to go, the boxes are free through the post office just tell them what you need and they'll give them to you. The wrislets may fit in the small flat rate box (not sure on that one), the letter carriers will likely need the medium flat rate, and hopefully the totes will fit in the large flat rate box. Hope this helps, I used to sell tons on ebay prior to the economic downturn and have some of the flat rate boxes still in the garage so I took a look and the standard wrislets like the sketch will fit in the small box, however, I thought I read that the 55th wristlets are a bit larger if that's the case those may need to go in the medium box, the letter carriers will fit nicely in the medium box.

One other note, you can use the flat rate boxes but opt not to use the flat rate shipping, flat rate shipping prices are a bit higher than standard priority mail due to the fact that if it fits it ships. Since the bags aren't that heavy shipping may be a bit lower if you send them standard priority rather than flat rate. Whatever works best for you. If you are going to print the postage at home and set up carrier pick up it may be easier to just use flat rate so you don't have to weigh each box. If you are just going to address them and then take them to the post office so they can weigh them then I would go with standard priority mail.

Either way thanks so much for all your trouble and if you need any help in the shipping department let me know, I've done a lot of shipping in my time.

i do understand its alot of money .. but you pay for quality and these handbags are TERRIFIC quality! plus, its such a terrific souvinir of a fantastic trip to disney ... a way to hold onto and see the "magic" on a daily basis!

I guess the quality is good, but I am a little mad. The leather zipper pull fell off my barrel bag and neither Dooney nor Disney really are being helpful. I just need the leather piece and it would be simple enough to put in on the bag and close the metal piece. Dooney won't do anything and Disney didn't want to either since my bag was more than 90 days old (barely). I complained and they finally offered to exchange the bag, but I really like the placement on mine.....Honestly, how hard could it be to send me a new zipper pull???

The bags are adorable and make me smile to look at them. I love the comments I get from people. I'm the "Mickey purse lady" at my favorite coffee shop. The purses are a fun way to relive the magic every day, but I wish I could get mine fixed without a major headache.

While I checked back with this site practically every hour to get updates on the Dooney event I dug out some old DL film we transferred a couple of years back. So in honor of the 55th I posted this on YouTube. My dad shot it and the film was not kept at optimal conditions, but it's pretty cool to see some of the attractions that no longer exist and see how the characters have changed.
