Dooney and Bourke Disney Mickey Bag in Black?

My husband is gifting me a Dooney for Christmas and just called to ask if I wanted the black one. I didn't know it came in black. Anyone know about this?

I just did a search on eBay and I see a sharp Mickey purse. Is this new? Anyone know the retail price? Thanks-

Yes, I like it. I saw the white sketch purse at WDW in October and regretted not getting it at the time. I think I like this new black one even better. I wonder if it's at the shops now.

It is at the shops now: Downtown Disney Marketplace and Trendy D, gift shop at Grand Floridian, Uptown Jewelers on Main Street In the MK....I think those are all the places?

I just came back from Disney yesterday. The black design was released on Thursday. I bought a couple of the small ones.

I believe both of the larger bags were $210. The slightly smaller one has a zipper the larger a tab buckle top.

I'm with you. I have the sketch one and LOVE it! I've been using it daily for over a month now and it looks just as good as the day I got it! AND I get lots of compliments on it!
I don't know if I'd like the black background though.

Prices:

$220 for the large tote
$210 for the tassle tote
$180 for the barrel (???)
$49 for the wristlet

I ordered a tote and wristlet on Friday, total was $303.95. They do NOT guarantee it will be here before Christmas, but you can pay $20 more in shipping and get it by Christmas (at least this was the case on Friday when I called).

I considered ordering it over the phone, but then several people mentioned that over time the white Dooneys yellow, so I decided to wait it out and see what else they come out with.

I thought long and hard about buying a white one also. We just returned from WDW and stayed at the GF, the white ones were in the gift shop. The black ones weren't there yet.

When I heard the white ones yellow over time, I wasn't real impressed. $200.00 for a purse thats going to yellow. I have Coach purses that are 3-4 years old that still look brand new.

I like the black one though. rethinking my decision to buy one.

As far as the white Dooney's yellowing I have one that I've had for about 3 years and it's fine. My friend has the same one and after about 2 years it started yellowing. She wrote to them and they said if she sent it back they would send her a replacement for free. So she did and in a about two weeks or so I think she had a brand new one.

Wow, that's a great guarantee! Other than WDW and Ebay, can you buy them somewhere else? If not, will the WDW gift shops mail them to you?

These bags do not have a warranty card so it is unclear if Dooney will stand behind the bags and have them available two years from now to provide you with a replacement.

My white bag lasted for a couple years and then yellowed. There are people that discuss the white bags if you google the topic and some individuals reported that they were not offered a replacement only $$ off on a future purchase which did not total the original purse price.

With that being said/known I went ahead and bought a white Disney purse as I figure if I have a cute purse for a couple years it is better than not having one at all

That is interesting regarding the replacement of a yellowed bag. I have a couple of different Dooney bags in the coated plastic material that are several years old and they still look great, but they are also not white.
