1st last summer we found out we were getting a new principal. NOW I found out they're putting middle and high schools in UNIFORMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hate my school board now. ugh. :furious::furious::furious::furious::furious:

School uniforms doesn't sound fun but honestly I don't think it's too bad. We did a debate on school uniforms this year and actually there were alot of advantages to having them. You cam still do your make up the way you want to and your hair etc... But you just are told to wear a polo shirt and jeans most of the time. It takes away the hassle of dress codes also! Overall it sounds like a good idea to me but yes I'm not very happy with our school board right now at all. They layed off 40 teachers last year and are laying off another 15 this year and 20 are leaving and there not replacing there jobs so there bassically taking away the pain of the school board laying them off by doing it volunterly also there shutting down one of the elementary schools in the area which is one of the oldest schools in the country(it's the oldest in Washington state) no one is very happy at all with our school board since were loosing tons of loved teachers.

I've always had to wear uniforms. I go to a Catholic school so that's not really gonna change. They're really a good thing in my mind. Kids are judged by what they wear all the time in schools, and having everybody wear uniforms really helps get rid of that. After a while you'll get used to it and you won't even think bad about it anymore.

yeah but that's like, 2 days for the weekend. i have never had to wear a uniform in my life. and the elementary schools don't have to wear uniforms. why can't they wear them and MS and HSers don't? :( if you lived where I do, you'd understand why it's such a big deal.

Well. Maybe I still wouldn't understand.
Middle schoolers and high schoolers are more likely to break the dress code.

Like I said, uniforms really aren't that bad. I went from public to private school.. you get used to them, fast.

And really, even when everyone's wearing them, I don't think anyone looks the same as anyone else.

I wore uniforms for 8 years at Catholic school. Everybody was still pretty much an individual because there weren't restrictions on belts or jewelry. We couldn't dye our hair "unnatural" colours, but that was about it. Oh, the boys had to wear ties/string ties.

They wanted to put one in in my school district three years ago. At first I was against it because I had just gotten the freedom of wearing whatever I wanted and I didn't want to give it up, but when so many people started protesting uniforms they put in a really strict dress code and most of us now agree we would have rather had a uniform.

They're not that bad, trust me. And it saves time in the mornings. You don't have to stop and think about what you're going to wear, it's predetermined. That's like...an extra ten minutes of SLEEP!

First off, I'm sorry you're stuck with this. But I went 9 years with a uniform and can say that I am a proud survivor. The uniform could possibly be more of a dress code like I had. I had to wear a polo but had choice of color. Same with pants/pants length. You can use that to make it seem less "uniform-ish" and more your own style. And definitely use jewelry/accessories as much as you are allowed to.

It seems stupid but uniforms really aren't THAT bad. They save you time in the morning, eliminate having to worry about if your clothes are in style or not, and everyone is doing it so just remember you're not alone in wearing it.

i absolutly hate my school board! This year we learned we are hving thé sixth grade in jr high and now they Want to make it ok to have sports games wednesdays because and i quote " sports are thé most important thing in the school. Thé board is a bunch of ediots.

I wear uniforms and they're not bad at all. Definitely makes my life easier in the morning and it cuts down on any unfair judgement based on appearances.

Okay guys. Just found out yesterday that we now have uniforms. We have to either wear polos or t-shirts with no designs bigger than 2 inches. We also either have to wear either khakis or jeans. Your pants don't have to be belted, and if your shirt looks neat, you don't have to tuck it in. I found this out and after being upset that I can't wear any of my Disney shirts, I was fine with this dress code. I figured I'll just go and get me lots of cool jewelry and scarves and stuff, right? Well wrong. You can't wear jewelry. You can only wear earrings as long as they can 't be easily ripped out of your ears. Okay. Most of my shirts are knocked out because of big designs, and now I can't accessorize. I'm surprised they didn't put any limits on shoes! (well except slippers and stuff like that) So I was okay until that. Now what do y'all think? YOU CAN'T ACCESSORIZE. yeah.

Those uniforms are nothin compared to my school. We have to wear polos and khakis or black pants. And you have to have a belt and have your shirt tucked in at all times. It seems bad right now but after awhile it'll just seem normal and you won't even pay attention to it.

because little kids grow like CRAZY. middle and high schoolers are pretty much the size they're going to be most of the time. Elementary students would have to buy new uniforms all the time though. it makes sense that they didn't uniform the little kids.

uniforms aren't that bad. i'm 100% pro uniform.

well now I really don't care except for the fact I can't accessorize.

no more tools wearing hollister? oh the horror

I wore a required uniform for 2 years now.. it's not bad, it's much easier in the morning, and I can just change back to regular clothes after school.
