Don't You Just Hate School Boards Changing Things????

because little kids grow like CRAZY. middle and high schoolers are pretty much the size they're going to be most of the time. Elementary students would have to buy new uniforms all the time though. it makes sense that they didn't uniform the little kids.

uniforms aren't that bad. i'm 100% pro uniform.

Wow, that's a good point. I never thought of that. But the funny thing is the elementary schools in my county are the only ones getting uniforms next year, the middle schools and high schools are not. We got a bit of a stricter dress code (but it's really not that bad) though and they said if we all can't follow it they'll issue uniforms.

I really hope we don't tbh. I had uniforms all 3 years of middle school, and they weren't bad but I do love wearing clothes that I can actually pick out. xD It's one of my favorite things lol! And plus this past year back in public school it was fun to see everyone's outfits, it was a nice change. But of course I'm sure that's exactly why they want uniforms, so we're not distracted. xD It is a lot easier in the morning I'll admit.

I actually didnt mind uniforms my whole life. I would wash my clothes once a week and set them up on a chair. So even when I was brain dead in the morning it was easy for me. Mind I did have enough clothes for the whole week so no dirty clothes were worn.

no more tools wearing hollister? oh the horror

Now that was hilarious...not gonna lie

Those uniforms are nothin compared to my school. We have to wear polos and khakis or black pants. And you have to have a belt and have your shirt tucked in at all times. It seems bad right now but after awhile it'll just seem normal and you won't even pay attention to it.

dude my school has a fall/spring and winter uniform...we wear the khakis and polos with the heaviest shoes in the world(stupid skechers) for the fall/spring and for the winter we have to wear khakis with dress shirt, tie and jacket for winter. Top buttons on the dress shirt must always be buttoned, tie must be all the way up and belts must be worn.

i found that kinda funny too lol

I wore a required uniform for 2 years now.. it's not bad, it's much easier in the morning, and I can just change back to regular clothes after school.

I'll admit I was just venting when I started this thing. Some things have been going on so I needed something to vent about. I really don't care about uniforms, but it does kinda upset me we can't wear jewelry.

That uniform is nothing compared to my school.
We have to wear the standard brown (sack) dress, brown knee high socks, white long sleeved shirts, brown jumpers and blazers and brown shoes.

we cant wear any jewellery, only studs for earrings less than 4mm across and only silver and gold. and only one.
we have to have neat hair.. no whispy bits. we have a compulsory purple and brown ribbon.
Our tunics have to touch the floor when we kneel down, our shoes must always be polished, we have to wear brown felt hats for services and formal occasions.
oh and i forgot to mention the brown and purple tie. for girls.
no nail polish.. yeah

Every school in Australia has a uniform..

Yes. Every school. In an entire country. It seems like they've had enough time to figure out what does/doesn't work. They're not instituting a standardized dress code over night on a populus who has never had one. It only makes sense to grow the kids into the dress code when you're creating an extreme change from nothing. There's about a million questions to come up with too when they institute it so its normal to expect that its going to take some time to get all the students in a district into it, even more so if the area is low income (free lunch) and there is a concern that parents of mulitple children cannot afford multiple sets of uniforms.

Actually that statement was to point out that even 4 year olds get stamped into uniforms at my old schools preschool.
