Don't you just hate it when you have to punish your kids?

My 4-year-old DD is such a sweetie but once in a while I have no choice other than to punish her. Like today....I told her she wouldn't be going to gymnastics and sent her to her room. So I just went to check on her and found her asleep in her princess sleeping bag, clutching her blankie in one hand and her gymnastics trophy in the other looking for all the world like a sweet little inncoent thing that could never do anything wrong.

I know I did the right thing, but my heart is breaking now....I just want to hug her and love on her.

It must be in the air this week. My 4 year old boy is currently in his room. He has been sent there for not listening at school - and chasing and being mean to our dog. He was sent there when we got home and he is not happy. He is currently crying -but honestly, nothing else seems to phase him and he needs to know that it's the choices he made that got him there.

So at any rate..... :grouphug:

We can do it!

Spring fever? :flower1:

I remember so well when mine were that small (and miss my babies!). As hard as it seems, these are the easy years. Ten years from now it'll be a whole different ball game. If you do a good job now, it may go a little easier for you (and them) when they are in their teens. The right thing is often not the easy thing.

Definitely something in the air.My DD7 didn't get to go to her activity at church because of being disrespectful this afternoon. She just informed me that I have ruined her life. :sad2:

Yes, I hate it.
I'd rather punish myself. 5-10 minutes alone in my room sounds like paradise. :goodvibes

yup ds6 is driving me nuts and i know its hard with the cast but he is outta control i punished him today and it was bad

I thought I was the only one today! DS6 just can't seem to listen or follow directions today! :sad2: So, he was sent to bed a half hour early after I yelled! :furious: I don't like yelling or sending him to bed early!

I agree, something defiantly is in the air. Both DD's have been so mouthy lately. DD7 lost going to gymnastics last week for her tantrums, she also lost her blankie last night for mouthing off. I think losing her blanket is the worst thing, I always feel so bad because she goes to bed crying and says how she can't sleep without it. :sad2: Boy do I feel like the worst mom. Then when she gets it back she kisses it and snuggles it, I think she's going to carry it down the isle when she gets married!
