Don't want to lug your car seat? Don't need to.

So I haven't posted this here before but wanted to share the information. If you have a younger child that still needs a car seat you likely can get a vest that they wear and can be used in any normal car instead.

Benefit: No car seat needed and you can now call ubers/lyfts when needed.

We have personally used this with both kids plenty of times during our travels in and outside of the US. It was a great way to travel and not deal with a bulky car seat.

If you look it up they have the safety approvals and testing all completed as well to qualify essentially as a car seat.

FYI - these are not able to be used on an airplane so this does not solve traveling with kids on flights and all of the car seat lugging that goes with it.

We went to Hawaii back in March and brought the Ride safer vest for our 4 year old and it was amazing. No lugging around a booster or car seat. We never had any problems with Ubers or Lyfts. Truly a game changer.

It TOTALLY sounds like it would solve the problem (at least for our family) of lugging a car seat around on/off a flight and too/from a hotel, etc.

We've never had to use a car seat on an airplane; our toddler just sits in the standard passenger seat in the cabin (or, when younger, sat in our laps). So far we've always just brought a car seat with us on our trips because we need it for car travel after we land at our destination.

It looks like this would take the place of a car seat for our purposes but maybe I'm missing something???

You are not missing anything. Our family would never have a lap child or a toddler not in a seat on the plane. You do what works for you.

It states it is FMVSS 213 approved. That’s the federal motor vehicle safety standards for child seats. If a state has stricter standards it may not be approved but apparently is by federal.
