Made a reservation with Orlando Scooter (Yellow Scooter) 6 months in advance and paid for it. Day before arrival (Sunday before Memorial Day) they cancelled saying they were out of scooters and would return our money. We missed half a day in Disneyworld, breakfast reservation, and several fast passes in order to find another company. We are now waiting for our refund, but will never use Yellow Scooter again.

Sorry to hear about that debacle.

I suppose they Overbooked, like airlines n hotel rooms of late.
Personally, when I hear these type things, we avoid using their services. So... message heard!
THx for alerting others!

We had the same thing happen with Apple a few years back. Have used Buena Vista since but planning g to purchase one before our September trip. .

We actually just had something VERY similar happen.

My dad requested and paid for a scooter for Memorial Day-Thursday. They called the day before and said they were all out and only had the pricier ones left but he would have to pay for an upgrade. He wasn't having it then they upgraded for free.

Well let me tell you what a piece of s*** this scooter was. The battery totally died after only being used on AND OFF for 4 hours. My dad is overweight but nowhere NEAR the weight limit. So we plugged it in the Land building at Epcot while we did Soarin', Living with the Land, ate lunch, and spent some time outside. About 3 hours. Now the scooter would stop and start abruptly and still not working properly. We had to PUSH it out of Epcot by hand. We did call Yellow scooter company and the operator on the phone was SUPER inconsiderste. And said there was nothing she can do and basically oh well maybe tomorrow afternoon someone can bring a replacement. Heck no. Dealt with them and their idiotic company.

Plugged it in the room for a few hours and took it back out that night. It worked until we got off the bus at MK, and then it didn't work at all. We pushed it all the way up Main Street and left it plugged in while we did rides. No less than 4 hours. Still didn't work after being plugged in.

They only refunded my dad half of the money even though we only had this scooter working for 4 hours. Ridiculous. Their manager wouldn't call me back and only had his little minion phone operator make the phone calls because she could do nothing for us.

We called a Disney approved company the next morning at 8am. Best Price Scooters and Mobility or something like that- they had a scooter at the luggage pick up at our resort in less than an hour and said if anything like this happened at the park, they'd meet us within an hour with a replacement no questions asked. We never did have any issues with the new scooter. Lasted a full 14 hour day for us and the battery bar didn't even go down at all LOL.

Yeah I'll agree with this and also say NEVER EVER EVER rent from yellow scooters. If you have issues outside normal business hours you can forget getting any help from them.

Megan you need to have your dad contact credit card company and get the charges reversed. It may take a bit, but I think dad's card would side with him. They hate to lose customers.

I would do this too. In fact I have done it when a scooter wasn't delivered and the company wouldn't respond to requests for a refund. Call your credit card company and explain what happened, it will take a month but most likely they will side with you and back charge the rental company

Sorry to hear that you had problems with "Yellow Scooter" like we did. I am putting out as much info about them as possible to try to stop others from having a similar experience. I went onto their web site yesterday, under "blog," and saw where they have a rebuttal talking about all the "bogus" reviews about them and great reviews of other companies. I replied to the article and told them about our experience. Went back later to show my wife what I wrote, but my reply was nowhere to be found..........I guess they didn't like it and removed it. Figures!!! Paul

AGREE!

OK since I had never rented a scooter before from anyplace except Disney in the Parks, I ordered one for a company for next weekend and not sure if it's the company you are talking about. The one I have rented is Scoot Orlando,or Disney World Scooter Rental, is this the company you are talking about? Hope I am not breaking any rules by posting their name, but since this is new to me I am not sure about if it's the same company. Can someone send me a message or reply ASAP.Thank You.
