Thinking of changing our last part of honeymoon from WDW to Universal. Is it worth going to if you don't ride rollercoasters? My fiancee is a HUGE rollercoaster buff, but I just won't get on them. We are thinking of taking his rollercoaster buddy, his 16 y.o. son, there on his spring break. He'll be able to ride them then with a 'buddy'. Is there other things to do there that he won't be miserable??? We've never been. Should we just wait and go in the spring or is there enough entertainment for 3 nights?

There is plenaty to do at both parks even if you don't ride coasters. The only coaster at Universal is the Mummy and a kiddy coaster (Woody Woodpecker). At Islands of Adventure the only coasters are Hulk and Dueling Dragons.

Do you do water rides with drops (like Splash Mountain)? If you don't, then you would need to skip Dudley, Jurassic Park River Adventure, and Popeye's. Skip Dr. Doom, if you don't do Tower of Terror.

There are still plenty of non-roller coaster items at US/IOA. Still most of them move. My favorite non-coasters:

Spiderman - best ride ever invented - period!
Terminator 3D - best live/recorded 3D show
Jaws - a classic
Men in Black - (it does spin)
ET - cute
Back to the Future (bumpy)
Voyage of Sinbad - good effects and stunts
Shrek - (I like the pre-show)

I visit Universal with a friend who will not ride coasters and has a fear of heights. She still loves the parks and finds plenty to do there.

Thanks...sounds like there is quite a bit to do. LOL..no, I don't do the 'drop' rides. I guess I should have been more specific. My FH 'tricked' me last summer into going on Rockin Rollercoaster at MGM. It was ok, because it didn't have the drops. Also, 'tried' Space Mountain, it was ok....no big drops.
I just am petrified of the no gravity feeling. I won't do Splash Mountain because of the drop. I did do Big Thunder Rail Road, it was 'ok'....a little too jerky for me. Just NO DROPS!!! :sad2: I couldn't do the big 'looptiloop" rides, like the Hulk or Spiddy. HUGE PANIC ATTACK!!!! Thanks I appreciate all your kind advise....just need to be prepared for any 'tricks' FH might have this trip! ;)

Spiderman doesn't have any big drops. It is a simulator ride---no loop-de-loops or drops. If you get scared just take off your 3-d glasses.

You should probably be able to do Popeye's as there aren't any big drops. It is river ride very much like kali river Rapids at Animal Kingdom. The Mummy coaster part really isn't any worse than Space Mountain. The first half of the ride is a dark ride. only the last 60 seconds is it a coaster. And it doesn't do loops or go upside down.

Both Jurassic Park and Dudley have big drops so I'd skip them.

There should be a disclaimer to this IMO....there aren't any real drops, but there is a "virtual" drop. If you close your eyes, you'll know you're not actually dropping.

True, that's why I mentioned taking off the glasses. You can always look up rather than down so you can tell you aren't really dropping. Now a loop-de-loop on Spiderman would be ummmm...interesting, especially since you aren't strapped in.

If you were okay on R-n-R coaster then you will be fine on Mummy, the "launch" is less intense and the ride itself is much smoother. Don't pass on Spiderman, it is such an incredible ride, you will be glad you rode it.

  I'd tell you to go ahead and go to Universal or Islands of Adventure. They are both great parks (even w/ out the coasters). Congrats on the upcoming wedding!!! :bride:
